Ordered the Oregon with non dairy cold foam. Overall pretty good but there was like an amaretto flavor or something that I couldn't quite place in that one that I didn't love love. Would go back to order a different one to try. Overall liked tho.
Never Coffee is such a cute spot! The shop was clean and has plenty of indoor seating, and the staff were super friendly. They have a lot of different fancy lattes and offered numerous alternative milks, including banana milk! They sell merch, bagged coffee, and pastries.
Cute coffee shop with signature lattes. The yuzu salt has an interesting flavor. It was okay, I probably wouldn't get it again though. The top is saltier and as you drink it, it's less salty. I think I rather prefer a regular latte. It wasn't for me but was a good specialty drink to try I wouldn't be able to get anywhere else.
The place is cute inside. They open early so it's a plus. I tried the matcha latte and it was alright. The matcha was very weak (not enough matcha?) and it tastes mostly milky
What always goes well is an efficient and delicious cup of cappuccino every single time I venture downtown. Chains... who needs em?? Give me a scrumptious espresso made by the friendliest staff in Portland.... I win every time. The tiny stools make me smile and I always am amazed that my fat butt fits on them and they don't break. Don't be afraid! Sit down and enjoy your coffee.
Never Coffee was a good coffee shop stop while on our last trip to Portland! This was very close to our hotel which was the McMenamins Crystal Hotel. We ducked in here one morning and got a bag of coffee beans to take home and enjoy freshly ground coffee in the morning at home. But we also wanted to try a coffee drink here and hang out for just a bit. We got a hot vanilla latte with oat milk. It was very good and the coffee had a nice, robust flavor to it. The vanilla blended in nicely to make it more mellow and add a bit of complexity to the drink. The folks that worked here were nice and friendly and it was enjoyable to chat with them for a brief moment. The atmosphere is clean and sleek which gives it a nice refreshing feeling.

I love this coffee shop. One of my go to's in Portland. This was my first time at this location. The cappuccino was really solid. They always do the prettiest latte art which I love. If you are into interesting flavors and syrups in your lattes they have a ton of options on the menu. Ambiance is great in here, spacious, bright, good amount of seating. I came to Never Coffee, recommended by a local friend and I wasn't blown away. Service wasn't really friendly as a a customer or first timer asking questions; you really need to be direct when asking questions as they don't really want to converse / be friendly lol. The coffee wasn't amazing. To be honest, for the steep price of $7, it was mid af. Honestly, I don't seem myself coming back. I didn't try a specialty drink, as I'm a firm believer in basics and foundations.... If my basic latte was mid, I don't want to pay more for a basic latte covered in syrups.
While doing coffee shop research via Yelp I was intrigued by the original latte flavors offered at Never. We ended up going here 2x because I just loved the Midnight Oil (oat milk) latte. My son ordered the Hunny latte Oregon latte on the first visit and the Oregon latte on the following visit. He enjoyed his drinks as well, preferring the Oregon over the Hunny. The inside of the shop is bright. I love the fun, artistic wall behind the counter. It looks like the other artwork in the cafe changes over time. There was just enough room for us to sit in the cafe on our first visit (an early Saturday morning) and plenty of choices for us to sit on our 2nd visit (an early weekday morning). Service was fine. Not overly friendly, but also not overly unfriendly. I am rating a 4 because I was disappointed in 1) the surcharge for an alternate milk (I'm vegan, therefore oat milk is my go-to milk) and 2) they do not offer any vegan baked goods. I really would have loved to have had a scone to go with my delicious latte.
Amazing experience! Delicious, quality matcha and house made syrups. The shop is colorful and fun without being too bright. The art pieces are lovely and add to the atmosphere. The staff is kind and talented. The tables are the exact right height to get work down and the concrete benches are aesthetic without being uncomfortable. Just go. You won't regret it.
I love love love Never coffee! It's such a creative space with a creative coffee menu. My hubby got the yuzu and salt latte and I ordered the seasonal lavender haze latte. Both were delicious and unique adding subtle and creative flavors. I also took home a bag of coffee and really enjoyed it on my espresso machine! You have to check out this lovely shop when in Portland!

Never Coffee had my FAVORITE cup of coffee that I had in Portland! I got a hot HUNNY latte which was like a honey-mocha situation, so tasty! The presentation was perfect and hanging out here was so enjoyable on an overcast morning :) Everyone was super friendly, coffee came out quickly, and there was plenty of seating for such a tiny shop too. read more
Great coffee and they have unique drinks for the location. My fave was the hunny followed by the bramble which has blackberry. The yuzu was ok just because I am so used to it with sashimi. Worth getting and trying if you like yuzu. The baristas were so friendly and explained most of the drinks to us. Great place to chill with friends or do work. read more

I love, love, love the aesthetic! I was immediately taken by that. Very colorful, arty pastel. The impasto wall behind the main counter area is gorgeous. They have a nice variety to the menu and selection of beans. I didn't check it out other than from a distance but looks like very cute merch. The cold brew is solid. Which is my usual go to. Flavorful, strong, and potent. Very very nice. I got the iced orange creamsicle latte special with oatmilk. This had a great flavor but a little more milk in it than would be my preference. I would just ask for less next time. read more

I ordered the "Oregon" latte. I asked for a little Extra caramel sauce (Dulce de Lethe) as well as Extra Hot. It was excellent! The only reason I deducted one star is because the price is a little high for a small 12 ounce coffee. $8 is pretty steep! I asked the employee if they would upsize it to their a larger 16 ounce size, if I paid a little more. Unfortunately, she said it only comes in that size. Not sure if I will come back due to the high price. it's not like I'm a rich bit*^!! Not to mention, Portland has a lot of great coffee for less money. read more

I was looking for a place with adventurous coffees and Never did not disappoint. We had an iced Yuzu with Salt latte and a hot Oregon. First off, the quality of the beans is exceptional and makes for a silky smooth latte and the syrups are subtle and sophisticated. I thin though, that the Yuzu disappeared in the ice so next time I'd get it hot. Because the aroma and delicate flavor of hops in on the hot Oregon Latte was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. Service is good and ambiance is serviceable. It's a regular cafe space with a few tables and window seating -- so this is somewhere you come FOR THE COFFEE. it will not disappoint. read more
Quick Summary: - Indoor seats only, benches, chairs, and some seats aligned along the walls - Cozy atmosphere - Coffee was slightly sour, but it worked well with the special latte drink style I visited here during the summer of Portland, and it also was the hottest day in that visit. We arrived here, when the temperature was creeping up to the high 80s. From the outside, the building is painted black on brick. It looked like it would absorb every color of the sun's rays into the building. Inside, miraculously, was not as hot as I expected it to be (maybe it's half-thanks to the brick building?) It was lukewarm at the time but if I stayed there longer it might have grown stuffier. Inside the decor was simple, small, but cute. Despite the small interior, there were seats to sit around. I was curious with their special drinks, so I ordered the yuzu and salt iced latte (usually I would have ordered it hot, but that day was just too hot). My relative ordered the iced tea. They make the iced coffee and teas very well: the right amount of ice and tea that ever after the drink sits the ice did not water down the flavor. It might sound unexpected for the cafe, but my relative really enjoyed the tea. She was beaming when she took a sip. I enjoyed the coffee I chose as well. While it was sour, because the flavors were also on the sour and salty side, it worked. My relative didn't think so, so she continued to sip her tea. The flavor reaction depends on the person would be my final verdict. A positive addition to this drink, because the weather was so hot, I enjoyed the light salt and citrus flavor. It rejuvenated me from heat fatigue. Overall, the cafe was nice and comfortable to let time slip by; the staff were considerate and explained the different types of teas they offered before I landed on the one that turned out to be my relative's favorite. read more

The baristas felt queer and so friendly and helpful. We're just not sure why it's called Never. Bc we never want to leave? Maybe! This tiny shop was located on a hip street in SE Belmont. We loved their signature coffees made with their curated syrups. Their branding colors and merch were so cute! We didn't really buy souvenirs the whole trip, but this place was too unique to pass up. Bagged some coffee beans and some swag. 5/5 read more

Been here only once when I was in Portland. But, we got to try 4 different lattes, coz turns out all 4 of us ended getting a different one! My personal favorite was - Midnight Oil. Hunny. I have never seen such great combinations of flavors in lattes before. So 11/10 to Never Coffee for having such beautiful options! Ambiance was great, service too. They have colorful little mugs/cups and many other items to buy as well. read more
Delicious espresso and drip! I don't always love ristretto-style espresso but the barista here did a great job and clearly had it dialed in. The space is cute, bright, and lively with colorful art around the walls. One of the many great choices you can make when deciding on coffee shops in the city! read more

Must try place in Portland for unique coffee drinks!! The space is beautiful with bright artwork and plants. They have truly unique signature drinks like yuzu latte and licorice latte, it was hard to choose. I decided to try the midnight oil - which had subtle licorice and anise flavor. They also have regular espresso drinks. read more
I came here a while ago and had an okay experience. The inside of the coffeeshop itself is very cute and has seating for big groups while you study or just casual seating as you're waiting for your coffee. The decor is bright and the establishment is spacious. They also sell some coffee beans and trinkets on the side, which is cute. When I went, there was only one person working and as it was pretty busy, it took a while. But! I didn't mind as their special drinks were pretty unique so it took me a while to read through their menu. They had a fun blend of different flavors and stories to describe each of their drinks. I thought that it was a really creative process and fun way to involve customers in their drinks. The coffee itself was pretty good but, there were A LOT of clumps in my latte. I forgot which one I had gotten exactly, but it was one of the special ones. And, because there were small flies that kept flying around the cafe, it just made me feel a bit paranoid whenever I kept getting clumps as I was sitting in the cafe, drinking. So, although I couldn't enjoy my drink as much as I hoped, I think it just happened to be an unfortunate coincidence. read more

Visiting Portland again and always have to make a stop at Never Coffee. I remember how good the yuzu salt latte was so I had to come back and get it again! They had way more specialty drinks this time and I also tried the Pop! Drinks came out quick (even though I ask for my latte extra hot) and both of the baristas were very kind and helpful! I can't go to Portland and not stop by Never. During my 4-day visit, I swung by the 12th Ave location. I like that location when I'm visiting, because it opens at 7 and I can head out my hotel to grab coffee and be back before most are awake. The Yuzu and Salt latte is my favorite but I had the Oregon this time around too, which had salted caramel. The hubby ordered the Midnight Oil which was a black licorice latte. I thought it was going to be gross, but it was quite good and something I'd order myself. read more

I live for a cute coffee shop. I just so happen to stumble upon this coffee shop waiting for my husband to get off work and was in love with the overall contemporary, airy vibes it gave. The barista was such a doll and made great conversation. read more
Such a colorful coffee shop! Immediately as you enter, the wall behind the counter catches your eye with the various splotches of color. The menu is also color coded to the colors on the wall. I love the artsy vibe here. We got the Yuzu & Salt and Hunny lattes. The lattes we ordered are written in yellow and blue colors on the menu and served in the respective colored mugs. The Hunny is more of a mocha but with floral notes. The Yuzu & Salt is my favorite because it has a hint of spice from the sansho pepper and the yuzu citrus compliments the espresso very well. Both coffees are such a treat and an experience to try, definitely worth it! read more
