I instantly felt more cool when I walked into this adorable coffee shop. The decor is something special. They have unique seating options for a quick rest or a chat with new friends on the patio. The menu is even more special than the interior design. I went for it and got the Grape-Ape Coffee Soda. I figured I'd either love it or hate it but that's the fun of life: trying new things. I liked the set up with the little one person tables and benches. Service was great. The parking may be a little difficult if you didn't take public transportation like I did. The barista was this wonderfully cheery guy who hummed/sang as he was prepping our drinks. He even helped me pick out a whole bean coffee bag to take home. But we did buy some coffee bean bags to take home and brew as a pour over which was flavorful. Just moved to Portland and Roseline was the local spot we tried on our first official morning. What a start! I tried the Salted Maple Hazelnut Latte - My words, "dark, smoky, toasty, and nutty. This is not the sticky sweet store bought hazelnut and I love it! My partner tried the Grape Soda Coffee - His words, "...for the adventurous pallet, very enjoyable, worth trying at least once." I absolutely agree and would add that it has a solid grape scent to it, but the taste is more of a complex, mature, spiced, and fruity flavor. Loved the mid-century modern vibes of the interior space! Beautiful orange couches, tiered lounge area, outlets for working, bright, airy, and fulls of gorgeous plants. I found this new place that opened up just 3 months ago while riding around on the lime scooters! So happy to have tried their two seasonal drinks, iced cherry bean matcha and miso caramel latte. The ice cherry bean matcha (sub oat milk) had the perfect matcha balance, not too bitter but not too light. The fruity cherry syrup added to it made it the perfect refreshing flavored drink. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered the miso caramel, but it is delicious. It tastes like a silky warm toasted caramel candy. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but that's typical of anything caramel related. I really liked this drink. So glad I found this place while visiting! read more

I was so excited to see this location of Roseline open up. Even though Portland is so saturated with coffee, Roseline still remains a consistent offering in the city even as it expands. This location is also a roastery, and the smell of fresh coffee hits the senses upon entering. The interior design reminds me of the 70s with its groovy colors and curvy benches. We ordered an oat milk cortado and one of their specialty drinks. The specialty drink was similar to an espresso tonic, but with the espresso syrup that they use, the drink almost ended up taking licorice-y and was a really interesting flavor combination that I thought was pretty creative. I wish I had more time to actually sit down and take it all in, so I guess I'll just have to come back to sit down and truly enjoy the full experience! read more

The new location for Roseline Coffee (previously Barista?) is a hidden gem; so much, that I halfway don't want to leave a review because before you know it, there'll be a line to get coffee and nowhere to park. Alas, it's worth letting out the secret that this is the best Roseline location in PDX, hands down. In a part of NE/SE saturated by coffee shops, Roseline shines. The space is surprisingly bright and airy considering the neighboring highways and busy one-way corridors of Grand, MLK, Davis, etc. Parking would probably be tough here, and I wouldn't recommend commandeering the Knot Springs / Yard lot unless you pay the fee. They're fast to ticket. Or so I hear.. Anyway! Back to Roseline. The coffee is great and the barista/baristo always knows what's up. You can quickly get a cup to stay or to go, or you can linger and learn as much as you want about a particular blend or roasting method. The staff here seem to truly enjoy not only the coffee they make, but also the customers, which is a breath of fresh air. I don't like to be all "serve me!" to folks in the service industry, but I also like to know I'm just as welcome as my wallet. The drink specials are solid, but they always are with Roseline. The food / pastry shelf is well-stocked with croissants, cookies, and breakfast burritos. The seating is unique, full of healthy plants and a bench / table setup like none I have ever seen. Overall, the shop feels open, cozy, private, and friendly all at once, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find another coffee shop in Portland with this balance of quality, consistency, knowledge, and enthusiasm. It's unfortunate that this is the closest coffee shop to my house. It's also unfortunate that they have great coffee, pastries, and a beautiful atmosphere. I've been coming here every weekend for the past year and without fail the baristas treat me like I'm the dirt on their boots. Once accusing me of lying when I ordered two (very delicious) breakfast sandwiches then only giving me one. I asked them to check the register and only then did they acknowledge their mistake. Oh and god forbid I ask what's in a pastry because they'll treat me like the dumbest person to walk through the doors because I'm not clairvoyant when it comes to pastry ingredients. This is one of my most favourite coffee shops in Portland! They have frequent seasonal changes to the specials menu. The coffee is brewed on site. It's always very balanced, and the brewing style from all the baristas I've had drinks from has stayed very consistent. I'm one of those people who frequently changes up the drinks that I get. I've been coming since they opened this Roseline location to the public and I haven't had a bad coffee yet! The staff here are really nice and we're not only able to help me find my new favorite roast from their company but also gave me some great recommendations for coffee shops in different areas. Indoor seating can sometimes be difficult to get because their tables are very very small and people with laptops often take over two tables at once. The outdoor seating is really nice. It is covered and there's plenty of space. Allergy alert: the outdoor seating has very robust and well maintained flowering vines. It's beautiful and smells amazing but you might want to sit inside while it's in bloom if you are allergic to jasmine. read more
