Tasted two of their drinks while on a date here, the iced strawberry matcha and their iced latte and both were amazing! Nice strong flavors without being overly sweet or watered down. The staff were efficient and friendly, I didn't feel like I was being rushed along or an annoyance. The front of the seating area is lovely, with a good view of the street and background music, but the back of the building has such a cozy vibe to it. A great place to study or work or just read a book, the music is much more muted back there and there's tons of seating for whatever kind of place you enjoy sitting at (cushioned, barstools, tables, etc). 100% will be stopping in again when I'm able to! read more

I like this place for its quiet atmosphere and private seating areas - great for work as many have mentioned. And unlike many or most coffee shops in Pdx where music is blaring and caffeine fueled conversations totally disruptive this place seems to attract respectful patrons with more shall we say, mature behaviors...The baristas are ALWAYS engaging and friendly and one doesn't feel as though they are bothering them as with many other establishments. The ONLY negative is that rowdy types seem to congregate outside right in front and so, ok, no problem, if you're a man. For me it's always a bit anxiety provoking walking in as I've been harassed several times. Not pleasant. read more

This review is for a visit made 10/8/2022. My favorite coffee shops are the dimly lit ones with intimate nooks. This one has that, but someone manages to not be damp and dank. The coffee is good and the latte art is cute. The staff was friendly, but just handed me a towel when I asked for a table to be cleaned. Not the biggest deal, but they weren't busy so it would be nice if they could keep on top of the cleanliness of the place. I actually knocked two stars off for cleanliness . As I mentioned, the tables weren't kept up. They also gave me a plate that was encrusted with some sort of food (cheese maybe?). The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I've seriously been in cleaner porto potties. I would like to come back, but I'll have to make sure that I find another business which has facilities I can use. I can't comment on the parking situation, since I arrived by bus. I can say that it's relatively easy to get to by public transportation. read more

There is coffee , some food ,average service and lots of seating . Came here to grab a quick coffee as I waited for another appointment down the street. I cant say that there was anything in particular that I want to mention . The coffee was alright and the Barista was curt and to the point. some of the Seating was weird and uncomfortable as I had to scoot between multiple people to sit down . As I was walking out is when I saw that there was a separate section inside with more seating. They had a few bakery items and sandwiches along with a variety of drinks including wine and beer. Our group stopped by this shop for a caffeine fix prior to a late night movie. Place was busy for the hour and there was only a little bit of seating for our group left. Stepped up to the counter and a friendly clerk took out orders. Some baked goods looked tempting in the glass case and we ordered the Chocolate Chip Caramel cookie. For a drink, I ordered a cappuccino. Cappuccino was good and the cookie was freshly baked and very good. People at surrounding tables were either engaged in deep conversation or studying. There are more tables in the back which seemed quieter. We all left caffeinated and sweet tooth satisfied for our movie. read more

The oats and honey coffee was phenomenal. The breakfast burrito was okay, but it's a coffee shop so I didn't expect much from it. The pastries looked good and will be my go to next time. The two baristas were very friendly and quickly made my order. There is plenty of room to sit and they have amazing lighting. There are lots of windows (even a skylight) with a cool dim lighting that gives the place the perfect vibe. read more

Coffee Time has been serving the neighborhood since 1994, and that in and of itself is something to celebrate. As Portland's coffee tastes and preferences have grown more and more sophisticated (or snooty, depending on your POV), Coffee Time seems like it's pretty much stayed the same. Sure they have the requisite alternative milks and so forth, but in terms of aesthetics, this place is definitely an "Old Portland" throwback. Here's some of my favorite things about Coffee Time: - Lots of outdoor seating. Covered and heated, it's one of the few places where you can sit and work outside and kinda/sorta pretend it's the pre-covid times. - They serve pretty tasty food for breakfast and lunch. breakfast burritos are only $5 a pop, so they're definitely easy on the wallet. Also check out their breakfast and lunch sandwiches - Booze! they sell wine and beer so you can easily transition from morning coffee to afternoon drinks, all from one patio! The staff seems friendly and things moved pretty quickly. They seem to have relationships with a number of the regulars, which is something you'd expect from a neighborhood institution. I don't go here tons, but I'll be back for more food in particular. Happy to have this in my neighborhood. read more

Coffee Time has been consistently serving up delicious drinks and great customer service since I moved to the neighborhood (and I'm positive far before that, too). I live right down the street and come in at least 2 times a week. Sometimes I think about venturing out and at least trying something new, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Their espresso and tonic is one of my favorites and this summer they have an AMAZING iced hibiscus tea. It is so good. Oh, I should also mention that the good people behind the counter are consistently hustling their buns off and will still make time to ask you how you are. Not necessarily a complaint, but something to be aware of- they fill their in-house mugs very high and this turned into a problem for my visually impaired son who could not safely get his cup to his seat. This is one of my go to's! The hazelnut late with almond milk is spot on. Perfectly blended with really bold espresso. I also love their vegetarian pesto GF breakfast sandwich, and they tend to have a small but tasty selection of snacks, pastries, and GF options. Giving this a 4 star for the... ambiance? This place is very casual, with lots of tables, that get even more cozy the further into the coffee shop you get. But, not sure if it's lack of ventilation, the place towards the back tends to have a smell. Some days it doesn't bother me, other days, it's not great. It's actually crazy I haven't tried this coffee place before since it's around the corner where I live in Nob Hill. It's so nondescript and nothing screams "coffee." So I only noticed the sign on the sidewalk early this morning. In need of my morning fix I went inside to be pleasantly surprised: looked like a nice place!! Obviously nothing like its -same street location- Ken's Artisanal Bakery nor chain Starbucks or elegant Sterling Coffee. It's like stepping inside the place of an old aunt who doesn't care about keeping up with modern furniture and hangs on to that old dining set because it's still fine. And by no means do I intend to be condescending, just observing. But wait, there's more: pass a small hallway with the cutest corner seating area (yep, old again, chipped paint from many many years, but it does create personality in a way) and a spot where one can find brochures, flyers, artists offering services, business card from dog walker Ben Kronenberg (no idea who he is but the guy can sell himself pretty well!) Another space with a table and chairs and then another lounge space.... couch and all.... Turn to the right to find even more small tables and chairs.... I can see myself sitting here and working from my laptop! So I will be back. After all, I haven't tried their pastry yet. Coffee is pretty good! Many regulars picking up a coffee on their way to work. Friendly staff. Clean, yet old which makes a place often look as if it's not clean whereas time just did its job.... Coffee Time is truly the *perfect* neighborhood cafe. Open late, this is a great place to meet a friend or grab a quiet corner to work on your novel. The vibe harkens back to old school Portland as the interior is quirky and not too precious. (Thank goodness!) the coffee is tasty and the breakfast sandwiches RULE!
