Oops, I drank my Matcha latte with vanilla before I had a chance to take a picture of it...

Quaint Little coffee place with great Matcha and delectable treats. Thanks to Nick for hospitable service. Perfect for a rainy cold day.

I've come to Adapt Cafe a couple times now and haven't gotten around to writing a review. The cafe is located in a nice neighborhood and is a small, minimalist shop. There aren't many seats but there's definitely working space for studying! They have a pretty standard menu, but I especially love their rotating seasonal menu. All of the items are very unique (I mean, watermelon matcha in the summer or gingerbread matcha in the winter??) A while ago, I placed a large order for an event here and the baristas were super sweet and patient with the large order. Everyone said the drinks were delicious and the syrups/flavors of the lattes were strong, without overpowering the coffee. One of my favorite coffeeshops in Portland and I highly recommend.

One of my favorite cafes, and partly because they're always nice to my dog. But it's also a very cool, tranquil spot in the Sellwood area with fun seasonal drinks and pastries. My favorite pastry is the everything bagel galette. The barista and servers are always friendly and everyone's really chill.

We drove out from Portland to get to Adapt Cafe, which is more in the suburbs. My friend saw aesthetic pictures online, so we decided to try it out. The pro of being in the suburb: free parking all around and no lines! We parked right across from the shop and went in to order. I decided on the Lavender White Chocolate Latte immediately and also was interested in food. They had a Lingonberry Pop Tart which looked enticing but was a little expensive, as well as some other options, so I decided to settle on the drink. One note is that they do not heat up any of their pastries, unlike other cafes, so you will have to be okay with room temp food. The drink came out really quickly due to no line and was SO pretty! I love the latte art and the lavender seeds on the side. I will say that the lavender definitely overpowered the white chocolate; it seemed more like a lavender latte. My friends liked their drinks and food as well. I am a huge fan of the minimal style of this space. I love that they had some books and magazinies out; like the HONY Humans of the World book! We all liked the decor and vibes so much that we took a group Polaroid here. I don't know if I would drive all the way out for this place again, but it was a good experience.

The service was fine, cashier was nice. The decor was interesting, but kind of typical of a coffee shop next to a new apartment. Personally, I'd rather get a napkin with my drink rather than a black tile coaster, which I felt was unnecessary. The food and drinks were all pretty disappointing. The Breakfast Sandwich ($6) was just reheated. It was fine, but honestly it was just as fine as getting it at McDonald's for cheaper. The Chocolate Croissant ($7) was very disappointing. The top was flaky but the entire inside was super dense. There was way too much unmelted chocolate and cocoa powder (basically a log of hard chocolate in the center, and a layer of unmelted, cocoa powdered chocolate chips in the middle. We couldn't finish it. The Cinnamon Honey Pistachio Matcha ($8/16oz) wasn't what I expected it to taste like. I couldn't taste the honey, and the cinnamon was just a bit of powder on top of the ice. Gf said the Cardamom Maple Cold Brew ($7.50/12oz) was sour, which isn't something you expect from the cold brewing process. Idk how it was made, but it made her disappointed.

Trendy new spot! This cafe may have somewhat minimalist decor but no lack of ~vibes.~ New to the neighborhood, they've got coffee and pastries in an open concept space. Window bar seating and two cafe tables make it mostly to-go but some space to sit and sip. Prices right in line with what you'd expect (~$3-4 drip coffee small to large, ~$3-5 pastries). I think the pastries are from Farina Bakery, not sure where they're sourcing the coffee beans. The coffee was a bit acidic for my liking. Friendly and helpful staff make it great. A great addition to the neighborhood, especially for the folks living in the attached apartments I would imagine.

Super friendly barista, beautiful minimalist space with a simple menu. Only thing I wish was that they had more breakfast/lunch options like sandwiches or something. Will be back for sure!

New cafe with a modern, minimalist vibe. The size of the cafe is quite small so not great for large groups. They only have two small tables and a window bar. Their coffee is delicious, and they also offer fresh parties.

Dropped by a little after their grand opening and the place looked great. I love the simplicity of the aesthetic. Very minimalistic and brutalist. The coffee was amazing: ordered an espresso, cortado, and an oat mocha. There's just street parking but it wasn't difficult to find a spot. Definitely will be visiting again soon :)

Cute cute minimalist cafe with great design. Fun for people watching. Super high quality coffee, nice pastry selection, and in an up and coming section of Portland. The owner is really kind, too. Space for about 8 inside, with a window with 4 stools, and two small tables with a bench on one side and a couple of chairs on the other. Some cute bench seating outside, too!

Went here for the first time today. Perfect coffee and delicious pastries. And beautiful, modern interior. Excited for this new coffee shop!

I went to this place two days in a row while staying in Portland before heading to Corvallis to start college. This is the best coffee place I've ever been to and the staff is super friendly. I felt cared for in the small talk that created a connection. As someone who loves interior design, the minimalistic aesthetic creates a comforting vibe. I had the brown sugar pumpkin spice latte and the maple cardamom cold brew with oat milk and it was a perfect balance that was not to overly sweet or bitter. The Brune cookies were delicious in the flavors chocolate fudge and gingersnap, vegan too and was happy to find since I know they are sold at Erewhon in California which a little far away. I'll be back on the weekends taking the Beaver Bus just to get a coffee and a snack. My father got a cappuccino and a sun dried tomato Galette. Shoutout to Nick for being the best barista ever!

I have mixed feelings about my visit this morning. They make you feel welcome the second you walk in. The modern, cool design of the space is top tier. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when grabbing a coffee in Portland. I also love their progressive approach to dairy; they default to plant based milks and there is no upcharge for them, which is a huge win for accessibility and sustainability. The Cons: Unfortunately, the experience was completely undercut by the quality of the pour. The oat milk curdled almost immediately. I am well aware that Stumptown uses a more naturally acidic brew, which is a science experiment waiting to happen with plant milks, and I know it is technically safe to drink. However, the separation completely ruins the mouthfeel. Instead of a creamy, cohesive sip, I was left with a watery base and grainy floaties. It is disappointing to be told that this is normal when specialty cafes have the tools like barista grade buffers and temperature control to prevent this. While the ethics and the aesthetic are on point, a drink that looks and feels curdled just is not an acceptable standard to serve to customers. Summary: Great people, great space, great pricing, but the technical execution of the plant based drinks needs a serious overhaul.

I have probably spent a couple thousand dollars on their business. Not being able to pour my cup of coffee in a to-go cup when leaving is ridiculous and not standard practice. I found this out the hard way when I had ordered a drip coffee for here and, when leaving, the women kinda snapped at me when I kindly asked for an 8oz to-go cup. I'm on their bi weekly coffee subscription. I'm located in Portland and my bag of beans was routed from Portland to Detroit, then San Francisco then back to my home in Portland on my last order. How odd. I tried reaching out to them to figure out what's going on and there is no way of contacting their business. Their website has no contact information and I called multiple times and no one would pick up the phone. I finally found a personal gmail account linked to their business somewhere on their google business profile but no one ever responded to me. I find it to be very odd that they're running an online business, you can't contact them, and they don't have anyone attending customer service. That's very bad practice. If it weren't for how good the coffee is, PushXPull would be dead last on my preferred coffee shop. I'll update my review once these issues are addressed.
