Small menu of coffee and chai drinks, but all made well. They also have some pastries, toast and even a burrito. Inside has a clean mid-century vibe which I love. Light and airy, some gold accents, and plants. It's a few blocks in from Sandy Blvd and it is definitely a locals coffee shop. I like that it's independently owned and not part of a large chain. Nova Coffee has a clean and beautiful interior. It's a cozy spot to hide out during a cloudy/rainy day like today. Unfortunately, their coffee was just your average joe. I came here with a friend who ordered a lavender latte, but could not taste the lavender at all. I tried their pecan sticky bun which was quite filling and tasty. Would stop by if I was in the area and in desperate need for coffee. But I would likely turn to other places if I was looking for quality craft coffee. read more

I love finding a local coffee shop that has character. This place, perched on a street corner just a block or two from the main road, was filled with a bunch of locals, some working, some relaxing. I ordered a latte with soy milk. It had great flavor and was served in a ceramic cup, which always improves the flavor. We also ordered toast and a local jam, I think it was marionberry. Just right to complement the coffee. Parking here can be a little bit of a challenge unless you get lucky and find a space close by. If you don't mind walking a few blocks, you shouldn't have any problem finding a spot. If you want to check out the local coffee vibe in a clean and modern space, Nova Coffee will definitely suit you. read more

My toast with butter and jam was great and the Americano was ok. I saw a lot of people drinking green tea lattes or matcha (maybe a specialty). Had I know this before ordering, I'd probably followed everyone else, but instead I had a small Americano. I'm not a fan of the beans they use, as my Americano had a bitter taste, which I don't care for. Might not notice that in a latte. The jam that comes with the toast is yummy. I think it said loganberry. They have an avocado toast but I didn't see anyone eating it. There's not a ton of seating. We had to pull up a small bench as a third chair at a two person table for the third member of our party. Barista was very courteous, but not really fast. She was working alone, so there's that. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely try a green tea latte. read more

After someone I can only hope doesn't work for the business felt the need to send me an insulting message and insult me in their review, I've updated my review, for your reading pleasure: They've improved their furniture, so the defective chairs they previously had break more than once when customers sat them are gone, which is great. As they've been open longer, service has gotten speedier and friendlier, which is an improvement. Contrary to Michael's assertions, I've been to literally every coffee shop within probably a 10-block radius of this place, since I work minutes away and consume a lot of caffeine- and this place has the highest prices in the neighborhood. It's on par with shops like Barista, so the prices aren't insane, but it's more expensive than others in similar neighborhoods. The decor is cute. They have alternative milk options (but several other places in this neighborhood do as well for less money). The menu is small, with only basic drink options, which is fine. Drinks taste decent, they make them well. Food wise, there's a few breakfast and lunch options. I've had the toast and the salumi sandwich. On one occasion the sandwich was great, on another it was completely soggy- it's also a small portion. The toast is tasty, as toast generally is. Overall, this place is A-OK. read more

Wish I could give a half star. Nicely decorated clean and crisp. They Serve water avenue coffee. The price though. This coffee shop is nothing terribly special. It has no parking, it's a walk up only. It was $5.25 for a medium coffee which is 12oz.. I visit many local coffee shops and this is a little absurd for the price, location and amenities. I think I will take the added paces to Higgins bagels next time or go in the Jantzen building for my coffee. Wait time for a coffee was also silly for the price. I'm sure I'll be back because coffee. We have driven by here a few times but today were out walking the neighbourhso we stopped in to try it out. The place is nice and bright with a modern style and the service was very friendly. They serve Water Avenue coffee and Bakeshop pastries so two more pluses. The coffee was brewed and poured well and priced similar to most other good coffee shops in the city. We didn't try the food but there is a very small menu. The air conditioning was a bit noisy for a new building, but that is not down to the coffee shop. I don't usually review a place after just one visit but i thought they were making an effort to create a good space in this neighbourhood and local owned businesses deserve some support. Went again today and under new management. They no longer serve Bakeshop pastries and we didn't like the replacements so not planning on returning. The coffee is still really good and the staff are really nice so you may still want to give it a try, but we have other nearer options. read more

I go to a coffee shop to pay someone to make my coffee for me. You wont get tipped for pouring coffee and ice into a medium cup (more like kid sized, I couldn't believe how small it was) and giving me a less than desirable attitude. No sugar free options for syrup, btw. When I asked her to put cream in my coffee she responded with "you can do it yourself." No further helpful direction, like maybe.. I dont know, where the cream is? They over-charge for doing the bare minimum. $3.50 for a practically kid-sized medium coffee. I threw it away and went somewhere else. I've also ordered a latte here and was not impressed. I won't be back. read more
