Had the most delicious orange cardamom latte last week. Although I wasn't hungry the pastries looked fantastic and my colleague got one and said it was fantastic. We sat and worked for a bit in the back. There's WiFi and ample power outlets for those who want to work. The place was busy the entire two hours we were there. There's a small shared parking lot which is fantastic because it's mostly street parking around there. I really loved the decor, we sat in the back where the wall was like an old garage door and the ceiling was covered with old coffee beans sacks. Can't wait to go back! read more

I love getting a hot or iced vanilla oatmilk latte. Reminds me of Seattle coffee. When I decide to spoil myself, I order their cinnamon croissants. spend every morning in a coffee shop working remotely, and this was my first stop on my two weeks in Portland. it was disappointing.The music was blaringly loud . second, they had no way to heat up my savory marsant. Last, not even discounted for in-house drip black coffee refill. she said it's because the first cup is inexpensive. But it $3 in a small mug. the employees, the building and space and the vibe are nice. however, I would not return.I spent a couple weeks here in 2023 and found many other more favorable coffee shops. I walked here on a stroll when i was in portland, wanting to wake up early and start the day kind of thing. During walking I passed by these beautiful murals and then next thing I know I am in here. Got a cup of coffee, someone who looked like a resident who was here that is just filling out crossword puzzles, it felt like a vibe. The space is really open concept, which is nice, less cramped. I swung in on a cold, rainy Portland morning. The coffee and the great vibe at Albina Press warmed me up and got my day off to a great start. We ordered pretty quickly, it did take a few minutes, because the one barista was handling a lot of orders! I had a vanilla latte, absolutely delicious! This is the coffee you hope to get when you need to start a day right. It was smooth and flavorful. The interior is spacious and there was plenty of seating for the crowd at 6am. It's great to have a coffee shop around that's open in the afternoon! The ambiance is comfortable, no frills, and has an abundance of seats, so it's just about perfect for working or studying. Staff is friendly enough; no issues there. I've tried their coffee- it's not mind-blowing, but it's pleasant and good enough. They've never served me coffee that's turned sour, which I can't say for a lot of cafes in Portland. I will say I LOVE their chai- it is incredibly well spiced and not too weak. I wish it turned out as good when I make it myself at home. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was a seasonal drink I ordered once that had a lemon syrup, which had a smell of artificial lemon cleaner to me... I wonder if a real lemon syrup might curdle the drinks, and that's why? Either way I'd steer clear of that. read more

Honestly this espresso shop would be great if their baristas didn't clean their espresso machines 45 minutes before close. Business days "open till 6pm" but I've been turned away TWO times because they "already cleaned the espresso machine." I came here to get some work done, and I enjoyed my experience here! I would agree that the music is pretty loud, but I didn't mind that. Visited this cafe for the first time today and it was a satisfactory experience. If you're planning to get some work done there, I recommend bringing some earphones like I did since the noise level is pretty high. It's definitely a more conversational space. Although they do have a few couch options, their wooden chairs are pretty uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. My table was located in a secluded corner adjacent to the lounge and was unfortunately pretty wobbly, as was the chair. The furniture's wobbliness was due to the uneven floor and made it a bit difficult to get comfortable at first but I got used to it after a while. In terms of their menu, the Red Pepper and Pesto Marsant was a delicious and savory pastry that I really enjoyed! My matcha latte was okay, I've definitely had better ones. All in all, a decent space with a cute vibe but doesn't make for a great work atmosphere. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped into this coffee shop while we were traveling through Portland on a Tuesday afternoon and had a great experience! We both work remote and were able to grab a cup of cold brew fast and hop online within a couple of minutes. There was ample seating both indoor and outdoor with outlets readily available at most tables. The Wi-Fi also worked great. The barista on 8/23/22 was also so sweet! I could overhear her greeting regular customers by name and conversing politely as she brewed the drinks. In fact, at one point a homeless man (clearly tweaking out on drugs) walked in and came up to her and she even handled that situation graciously. Speaking to him with the upmost respect. Props! The only reason I'm knocking off a star is because it does get extremely hot in the late afternoons if you're planning to stay and drink your coffee there. It was close to 90 degrees outside and they had a few floor fans on but no AC. After half an hour of working we were both sweating. I really wanted to try a hot latte because of the cute art they do, but knew I wouldn't be able to drink something hot in that environment. Other than that, we had a great experience! If I lived here this would be a regular spot for me. Definitely recommend. read more

I got excited that the guy taking my order said they have decaf coffee - they don't. It's an americano. He charged me for more but I let it go. and the barista explained what an Americano is to me like I was born yesterday when I tasted grossness, going out of her way to be condescending. I don't know if that's because of my accent or what, but it was xenophobic and a huge reason why immigrants are embarrassed to speak, because of cruel white Americans like her who act like this. When I asked why the counter bro said they have decaf coffee, he said it's the same thing like she did. But no, they're not the same, the name alone betrays the history that Americanos were made in Italy for Americans during the war because they couldn't handle real coffee and needed watered down garbage coffee. Excellent coffee in a beautiful space! I needed a spot away from the staring eyes of my shih-poo to prep for an upcoming webinar, and the library WiFi wasn't working. This cafe had been recommended so I decided to try it out. They were still limiting seating inside, but I easily scored a spot. I'm sensitive to caffeine but love the flavor of dark-roasted coffee, so I was thrilled to receive a delicious decaf latte, that was beautiful too. I found it more hyped than it deserves to be . we made a little bit of a drive to get coffee here and were slightly disappointed with the overall experience. The space is big and well lit , however no place to sit at all and outside seating is not covered so if its raining or bad weather ,your best bet is only take-out .It looked like a great spot to work or study as there was no blaring music and lots of seating (not in use currently) .I ordered an expresso and asked the barista what kind of brew they had for their drip and she said she had no idea . My husband ordered the chai and when I inquired that was it pre-sweetened or not , she said it came from a box pre sweetened ,however that was not the case .The chai was pretty amazing and had she told me that it was unsweetened would have ordered one for myself too. If you do not know what you are serving your customer , perhaps ask your colleagues or make an effort to know about your offerings .Ordered the Muffin and a croissant and when I asked them to heat it ,they said they can`t. The croissant tasted great when we heated it back at home however the Muffin was a little stale and not that good . They also have Coffee packs and French press for sale. Great coffee shop! I'm always on the hunt for a good place to study as a graduate student. This place is one of my go to places to study. Prices are reasonable, not too loud, and lots of natural lighting, parking, and outlet access. Their menu is pretty simple and they do have tea pots. I usually get their chai latte. They don't have any actual meals on the menu, but they do have pastries (cookies, muffins etc). There's several tables here and lots of comfortable sofas. They have 4 sofas which is amazing! It might be hard to get tables next to outlets or even table seating when it gets crowded. I usually would just chill on the sofas until a table becomes free. Overall great place to chill out to get some work done or catch up with some friends. Joanne's cafe rating for studying: Seating: 3.5/5 Wish there was more seating and bigger tables. Quirky old fashioned coffee shop located in the NE. There is a lot of space. Many chairs and tables and a couple of large couches splattered around. There is also one student-ready desk that can be snagged if you come in at the right time. The baristas as Albina take their time in making their lattes, they even warm their cups beforehand so your latte doesn't go cold. They take time to make latte art in every cup which is pleasing to the eye and taste buds. Chairs are a little uncomfortable so not recommended for the long period studiers of the world.
