We stopped into this spot because we heard they had a good matcha. They didn't disappoint because they accommodated my daughter's request for a strawberry matcha even though it wasn't on the menu. They closed at 4pm so we just made it in time to grab a refreshing drink. We tried a few of the pastries as well.
The coffee is very good but no ability to try all of the available coffees for sale. Also oddly seems very disorganized with no name or number called out for your order. So if two similar orders or you don't hear them quickly announce the order you're having to ask with each pickup. Overall, sound dampening maybe added to the ceiling as it's very loud inside and yet could be a fabulous space with those improvements. Also tried 4-5 times and passcode for the wifi didn't work even with case sensitive changes.
Wonderful staff, beautiful motif. Charming and well designed. Modern with alternative music as you'd expect in a Portland coffee shop. Very clean and dynamic with affordable prices and great selection of accoutrements. High-quality matcha and an overall cool vibe. Highly recommended. Best spot on Fremont.
This place was so cute and i'm definitely adding it to my list of places to get work done. The vibe is great. I ordered a tea and a canele, both were great! They also do unlimited refills on tea if you end up dining in which is great to know since I did spend a good amount of time working. Service was super quick and everyone was super kind.
I stopped by this coffee shop and got a hazelnut latte. The latte art was gorgeous. Coffee was strong and had an amazing hazelnut flavor. It's also a nice spot to get some work done, with free wifi. Staff was friendly. Ample amount of free street parking nearby.
I visited Prince Coffee recently. The ambiance was modern and spacious. The service was friendly. I got a hojicha latte. It was warming and so toasty. I liked it. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and will visit again.
I've been coming here for YEARS. It's one of my absolute favorite spots. I would do just about anything for their cardamom latte. I also love their extra sweet iced mocha. This place got me through depression. I visited many times on frosty mornings or after church. The staff is always very nice and very knowledgeable about coffee. They pull the most amazing shots. I've never had a bad drink. The inside is so bright and spacious and cozy. Lots of fun coffee gifts too. Must visit!!! Parking can be hard sometimes.
Latte was good but didn't have too much of a cardamom flavor and was a bit cold when received. Reasonable prices.
Decent coffee shop in the area. While waiting to eat brunch nearby and it being on the warmer side I sprang for an Iced mocha as opposed to my preferred hot one when it's cool outside. Good, but not the most chocolatey of mocha's I've had which is ok. There service was pretty good. I asked where the water was and was directed to it as well as given a glass which was welcomed. At the actual water station are reusable plastic cups so that glass was a nice upgrade. The shop has counter, table and outdoor seating but fills up quickly like many coffee shops and even moreso as it attracts people looking to do work on their laptops. There are baked goods and breakfast items that I held off on but seemed to be a popular choice here. Overall, a decent coffee shop, fully staffed and fits the area.
What a wonderful little shop! The staff are friendly and listening to the shop talk there are lots of regulars and the staff has taken the time to get to know them. I had the Anijsmelk Latte and loved it. It wasn't over sweet and the anise did shine without over powering the espresso. Was a nice spot to sit and read a little or catch up with friends at.

The ambiance feels European, with wooden furniture, shades of navy, and aesthetic coffee-related paraphernalia on a large bookshelf. The stroopwafel and coffee pairing s a Dutch tradition, and they even have a signature Stroop Latte featuring caramel and cinnamon notes. With their creative latte and breakfast sando options, I was at a loss about what to order, despite having looked at reviews before my visit. The barista was very friendly (as is everyone in Portland lol) and helpful with recs. (+++) ANIJSMELK LATTE - This was the barista's favorite, and it was indeed so delicious and unique. I never though star anise syrup existed! It added a flair to the otherwise sweet and creamy latte, and the fresh nutmeg topping was the chef's kiss. It's recommended hot but I always prefer iced coffee, and the iced version tasted amazing. (+) ROMESCO BREAKFAST SANDWICH - It seems that the cashew pesto breakfast sando is more popular, but I couldn't pass up house-made walnut romesco. This was simple goodness, with a very fluffy baked egg and aged white cheddar. However, the romesco turned out underwhelmingly plain and overall it was almost too simple. I think it could use a little oomph somewhere, or at least more than a few pieces of arugula. Other notes: - Food and drinks were ready in a timely manner - Street parking in this neighborhood is quite easy - Price is not cheap, but very reasonable for the quality and memorable cafe experience - I love how it's such a neat place with well-thought-out concepts and quality lattes, yet so down-to-earth. Feels like home (: I will definitely be back in this cute cafe next time I'm in Portland!

On the surface, their "thing" seems to be stroopwaffels. However, oddly, the menu item called "Stroop Latte" does not come with the little stroop cookie, you have to order that extra. I guess it's just a caramel flavored latte. There are cold brews and espressos and other types of pastries too. Their real "thing" seems to be the ~*vibe*~ of the shop. Hipster-ish baristas (who are perfectly friendly, no shade intended), beautiful huge plants that I imagine cost hundreds of dollars to buy, wide open spaces and big windows, a rotating selection of plates/mugs/home goods to buy, narwhal logos, etc. A little costly - $6.50 for a small latte and cookie, not including tip. They always seem to have a line and be busy, so I guess these "things" match with what some people are looking for. For me, it's a perfectly fine occasional visit when I'm in the area looking for a sweet coffee treat.

I love Prince Coffee for their specialty drinks like the Stroop latte and any special twists to classics with their house-made syrups. The uji fog hojicha is no exception. Incredibly refreshing, lightly sweet, so cozy. The barista gave the rec and it was perfect. read more

I've been to other Prince locations before and have always found the coffee to be good, so when I came across this location while in the neighborhood, I decided to give it a try as well. The coffee shop aesthetic is pleasing, with plenty of seating and good natural light, making it a nice spot for working or reading. I ordered the cardamom latte, and it tasted really good. The staff was alright, and the pricing while on the higher side was consistent with what you'd expect from this kind of café. read more

Love Portland and it's coffee scene. So many choices coffee shops to try! Been wanting to try this Dutch inspired coffee shop and the stroopwafel! The stroopwafel is a Dutch soft wafer with a small crunch filled with a cinnamon and caramel sauce. Simply delicious! I like to dip it in my hot espresso and eat it after drinking my espresso. Very beautiful, modern space and they also sell some local goods. Excellent customer service and moderate street parking. read more
Biggest perk of Prince Coffee: ALL drinks are at the same price point, which is so rare! All drinks contain 2 shots of espresso. So you could get an 8oz, 12oz, or 16oz and they'll all come out to be the same price. Music is, as my friend put it, a portal into her high school self. The inside is pretty spacious in the front, with seats that face the windows and a large communal table in the middle. There's also counter seating. Bathrooms are in the back. read more

Their breakfast burrito is a laughable: high price, super small, reminiscent of reheated frozen, and comes with a scant of Tapatio/Cholulu hot sauce. If you're going for this taste than McDonald's offers two for $2 (I seriously like them better.) Service is friendly, but prices are overall high, and atmosphere is sterile. I've soured on Prince from my initial positive experience. There's ample choice within a 1/2 square mile; the crowd here is the serious kind working on serious things on their laptops. read more

All the staff here was so friendly and so helpful. They Let me take my time while ordering. The coffee is literally the most delicious coffee!!! I'm from Los Angeles so I've had millions and millions and millions of cups of coffee. Try one of their specialty lattes and trust the barista's recommendation for sure. read more

The stroopwafel light wall is so cute!! Minimal interior, but I like all the wood furniture. Good study/work spot with outlets and wifi. I got the stroop latte, which I really liked! Not overly sweet with the nice caramel taste. A goodie indeed. I haven't gotten the stroopwafel from this Prince location, but I had it at the old location near Kenton Park. Stroopwafel was alright, not bad. I expected more because hype and they claim to make it fresh. read more

What do you want early in the morning before you've had your coffee? Coffee. And you want it quickly and easily. I got just that at Prince. Drip coffee in a takeaway cup, some coffee beans for home, and a stroopwaffle to start off my Sunday. Why not have a warm pressed cookie at 7 am? The coffee was good, the barista seemed a bit confused but there's grace, he had just stared his shift and it was very early. The "cookie" was great with my piping hot black coffee. And just like that I was on with the rest of my day. read more
I convinced my husband to go to Prince Coffee on a Wednesday morning as a special treat. Due to last minute- change in plans we had some free time around 7 am, and were able to go for more of an experience of having coffee, instead of just getting a cup to-go. *This is not the place to go to, on a Wednesday for a good experience. The reason why I was attracted to this establishment, was that I heard about their fresh Stroop Waffles. But, unfortunately I found out then and there that they don't' serve those on Wednesdays, only on the weekends. So, if I ever find myself with free time on a weekend, and going to a coffee shop, then I will go back, probably. But, this shop is 30 minutes from my home, and there are plenty of other coffee shops to go to that are closer than Prince Coffee. But, their coffee; was mostly-okay. I got the Cardamom Latte and there was nothing wrong with it. However, I was really disappointed with the Maple Scone. It was very dry, crumby and not- sweet. I have had oat cakes that taste better than this scone did. The staff was really helpful and nice. I would consider going there again in the future, but I won't go out of my way to be disappointed, like I was on Wednesday 10/26/22. read more

Best cappuccino I had while spending a weekend in Portland, hands down. I ordered mine with oat milk, and it was so smooth. I loved the decor and clean aesthetic of the shop. The baristas and cashier were friendly and efficient, and did a good job of monitoring the number of customers inside the shop. read more
