The service was really helpful, especially because I'm so indecisive! They eventually helped me order an ube blossom latte that was less sweet with oat milk, which was perfect! I can't imagine how sweet a regular one can be lol. My brother got the pistachio orgeat with almond milk, which he says wasn't overly sweet and was the perfect temperature for immediate slippage. read more

So it is Christmas day and you just have to find a coffee shop that is open. We got lucky. This little coffee shop is right next door to Screen Door restaurant. Which by the way you do not want to miss. They were busy, buy the wait was not long. My cappuccino was very good. They have a really neat little sitting room off to the side as you enter the coffee house. The staff was very friendly and did a great job with our drinks. Will be back! read more

Hidden gem of a coffee shop! Tucked next to Screen Door on E Burnside, the front of this store is tiny and easy to miss. Head inside and you'll find incredibly creative drinks and a surprisingly large underground seating area that is retro-style and like a windowless casino where time ceases to pass (or flies by). Staff is super friendly while also taking their coffee seriously. This will definitely be a spot added to my cafe rotation as I'm excited to see the seasonal specials they come up with! read more

The drink I ordered wasn't my favorite, but the customer service was great. No Preference is a really neat coffee shop with TONS of seating. At first the place looks really small, but near the counter was a small set of steps which led to a really big area with tables and chairs. No Preference is a really cool spot to sip a coffee and just hang out! read more

Burnside + Coffee = unbeatable combination This a rad (seemingly) little spot, but as soon as you walk in there's a comfy basement downstairs that is perfect for getting some work done, catching up with friends, or just to hang and enjoy. The vibes are chill and the music is even better. The relaxed vibes and friendly staff make it feel super welcoming. Some aEstHeTiC ~ coffee shops tend to lose that. The oat cream latte is outstanding! Barista described it as creamy, balanced with condensed oat milk + cinnamon toast dust. Can you imagine anything greater? Literally even better than it sounds. I enjoyed mine iced while waiting for a table at ScreenDoor, next door. The menu is super unique like banana miso and guava matcha. I also wish I wasn't having brunch so I could've tried a brekky sandwich with mango habanero hot sauce!!! Ugh, already planning my next visit. Okay, No Preference might just be my new favorite coffee shop--and no, that's not a contradiction. Walked in this afternoon expecting a tiny little grab-and-go spot, and boom--there's a whole cozy basement hideaway downstairs that feels like a secret clubhouse for chill vibes and great tunes. Super welcoming, relaxed, and somehow both stylish and unpretentious. The staff? Absolutely amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and actually took the time to get to know me and help me pick drinks I'd love. (Spoiler: they nailed it.) I tried the Pineapple Orange Guava Matcha--subtle and refreshing like a tropical vacation in a cup. But the Banana Miso Latte? That one stole my heart. It's weird. It's wonderful. I want another already. Also had a sandwich with chorizo sausage and mango habanero hot sauce that hit the spot. Pro tip: get the hot sauce. Trust me. You'll thank me later. A welcoming coffee shop with a great atmosphere. Previously called Kopi coffee, but it seems the place has a new owner. I was a bit confused to locate this place as the map on my iPhone still shows both Kopi and No Preference at the same location. A decent price, no extra charge for alternative milk, and various coffee/tea options. I also saw some pastries in the window. My oat milk latte was creamy, balanced, and tasty for sure. So I guess this place used to be Kopi coffee and a lot of people don't know they've changed name because they still have kopi sign up. Anyways someone recommended I try here so I finally did when I was going to screen door for brunch. Must say this latte was so amazing. I got the coconut lemongrass latte with coconut milk. Now while I didn't much taste the lemongrass the latte was still amazing. The coffee itself is such a good taste like idk what beans they're using but I loved it. And then the coconut cream was tasty and overall just a delicious latte. Not too sweet but still sweet enough. I will definitely be back to try their other flavors. It's so hard finding places where you taste the coffee and not just the flavor and it was so smooth. Looks like a chill place definitely bigger inside because there was more seating than I thought though I did take to go. read more

Y'all this place is a fucking treasure hiding in Kerns in a teeny, tiny building. It may not look like much, but do NOT get it twisted. Once you walk inside the seemingly small space, you discover that there is a sweet-ass BASEMENT with table and booth seating. To my astonishment, they had MULTIPLE vegan pastry options. They did not have cold drip iced coffee-I'm 100% enslaved to Cold Brew-however, I got an iced latte AND they made it correctly-with espresso and milk put in first and ice LAST. The end result was one hell of a tasty ass iced latte. I happen to be a coffee shop connoisseur, so I can say with certainty that the espresso was top quality crack. Also, the employees were wonderful; the owner, Bryce*, was particularly awesome. Lastly, the music they play is my motherfucking JAM-old school/indie rap/hip-hop, plenty of sweet 80's and 90's classics, and even some semi-recent pop hits. In sum, I'm THRILLED to discover a diamond within walking distance in my neighborhood. My final point is simple and fairly obvious: GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE A. S. A. F. P. *-I'm almost 1000000% positive his name is Bryce; but, unfortunately, I suck at names. read more

my favorite coffee shop in portland omg... the quality of coffee is great and the specialty and flavored lattes are made with house made syrups and are very fun, creative and actually good. staff is great, you can tell they all apart of the vision here and that they enjoy being there. eddie josh and bryce are so so nice, great and can pour a bonkers latte. very fun atmosphere very chill and casual small seating up in front and bigger area downstairs to sit where you can post up for working. my favorite is the ube blossom latte and they usually have a funky pour over available that's always great read more

They rotate flavors often, but Raw Honey & Sea Salt and Cinnamon Sugar are always available. The chai flavors are also excellent, especially the King & I, inspired by Thai pandan tea. While I do gravitate towards the donuts first, I know they are also famous for their chai. So if you are a chai fan don't skip that option here. I just had a chance to interact with their mobile food truck at an event, which was such a fun aspect to the overall event. I got a quad of donuts and a chocolatey chai! Also I will say this: Pip's offers a free birthday dozen, which is incredibly generous gift. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Adults, especially, should never grumble about not receiving a generous freebie. The fact that they offer it at all speaks volumes about the kind of business they are!

The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. The owners were so sweet and welcoming, taking the time to give me recommendations and making sure everyone was taken care of even during a busy rush. Until next time, Portland!

Their pie crust looks like it would be thick and hard, but it is actually quite thin and flaky! There is a very thin layer of crust at the bottom, so the pie was mostly chocolate and cream which made it so airy and not dense at all. It also wasn't too sweet which I love!!!
