This is a hidden gem and local favorite. Tucked away a few blocks off the hustle and bustle of NW 21/23, this shop offers great ambiance, spectacular coffee and pretty good people watching. They serve heart coffee and they also sell proud Mary. Two legit brands that bolster their reputation for me. The atmosphere inside is clean and modern. There are a few tables outside on the patio if you want more of an urban sidewalk experience. Parking is manageable on the adjacent streets and menu prices are fair for the market. Service is generally friendly and fairly efficient. The available bathroom is clean and does not require a code, which is always a perk. This is a great option if you want something that offers more of a neighborhood type of feel. A great choice if you want to pick something to go or if you want to stay and chill for a while. A gem in a sea of good Portland options! read more

Prince Coffee - They serve heart coffee... hence their legitimacy - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Portland, Oregon

TLDR: Cute cafe with a bright, airy ambiance and quick service, but the drinks I tried did not fully work for me flavor-wise. I would come back for the space, but I would order something different next time. ------ This Prince Coffee location is really cute. The ambiance and seating area are aesthetically pleasing, with a bright, airy, and light-colored atmosphere. Ordering was quick and easy, and the drinks came out fairly fast. I visited on a weekend, and because it was raining outside, indoor seating was pretty limited. I was excited to try the drinks, but unfortunately, there was something a little off with the flavor profiles of the ones I ordered. 1. Coconut Jasmine Lemonade: This tasted pretty good overall, but I could barely taste the jasmine since the lemonade dominated most of the drink. The drink also seemed to coagulate a bit, which left behind an unusual texture. 2. Guava Coconut Matcha: This drink was okay, but I was not entirely sure that the matcha and guava complemented each other well. The flavors did not feel as balanced as I was hoping. Overall, I would come back because the cafe has a great ambiance and location. However, I would probably steer away from the drinks I ordered and try something else next time. read more

Stopped by Prince Coffee in Portland on a Sunday and it was definitely busy, but still had a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. I tried the guava coconut matcha, and it was refreshing. The fruity guava and coconut paired surprisingly well with the earthy matcha, light, tropical, and not overly sweet. There's seating both inside and outside, which is a plus, especially when it gets crowded on the weekends. Cute spot, great vibes, and I'd definitely come back to try more of their drinks! read more

Had some time this morning to check out Prince Coffee in North Portland. They just opened a couple of months ago in the old Atomic Pizza building. They did a great job with the space. It's open, bright, and has tons of seating with tables, counter spots, and a nice back patio. The wraparound front windows bring in a lot of natural light, and the whole place just has a really good vibe. Street parking was easy, the staff was friendly, and the coffee was solid. Definitely a nice addition to the neighborhood and a spot I'll be coming back to. read more

A friend recommended this coffee shop, and since it is women-owned I was interested in supporting it. I got the cardamon latte (decaf) which was pretty good. I ordered the daily potato, leek quiche which was a large serving size. It looked like it had been heated up one too many times. The crust was quite burnt on the top rim and the bottom. I was unable to cut through the bottom of the crust because inside it was still raw yet burnt on the bottom. So, I only ate the inside portion. They were quite busy, otherwise I would have sent it back. This should have never been served. read more

Craft micro-brewers, distilleries, wine, tasting rooms, farm to table restaurants, chocolatiers and coffee makers populate the vibrant foodie scene everywhere in Portland. We have it all - all I want today here and now is a great tasting well balanced cup of coffee. I get that at home every morning, with my favorite local roaster using a pour over method. Today I'm out to check out the coffee scene and vibe at Prince. Coffee shop is open and airy with windows on two sides. Lots of outside light and tables inside. Lots of people parked at a table, drinking coffee, working or playing on their smart phone and computers, creating art and recording in their journals. People like to hang out here and it is a good hangout. Music is cool also. The cappuccino is pretty good, it's got a nice sweet and bitter balance to it. The barista says the beans are roasted locally at Heart roasters. read more

First of all, love this location for closing at 8 pm. There are plenty of seats, but it's hard to get a seat sometimes because people come here with their laptops. When the weather is nice, they out out a couple of outdoor tables and chairs. Plenty of coffee and tea choices. Well made. Some pastries available. It would be nice if they offered more pastries. There is a selection of items for sale. Street parking. Safe and clean area next to a couple of boutique shops. Good service. read more

Swung by Prince Coffee before a midday meeting and was pleasantly surprised by their delicious specialty lattes and breakfast sandwiches! I will say this spot is cozy, but can get busy/crowded during peak hours. It was a tad difficult to find a place to sit with my things, but thankfully a spot freed up as I was waiting for my order. They are known for their stroop lattes, but have a variety of other specialty picks including tea lattes that are well loved. Breakfast sandwich wise, I appreciate that they always have a couple veggie options and additionally a quiche, some granola/chia pudding. I tried the cashew pesto breakfast sandwich here and it was tasty! Came out at a good pace as well. Quality is great, but I will say I find prices to be a tad steep; what can you do in this economy. Service is friendly and there is usually a good amt of street parking in the area! Get out and try this location to see what you think~ read more

We were a few blocks away and decided to try this spot out. There was a long line that wrapped around inside, but the wait wasn't too long before we got to order. I actually ordered the peanut butter brittle. It was an interesting mix and that was what intrigued me. It was actually pretty good and not overly sweet, just how I like it. There are a lot of coffee shops in the area so it was nice to support local coffee shops. read more

Friendly staff, delicious quiche, and decent latte- I got one that was recommended as one of the most popular and it didn't taste like I expected but it was fine. My biggest issue with the place is how uncomfortable it is- the line wrapped around the area, putting people hovering over those sitting- and the seating is either hard wood benches or metal bench or a strange fabric bench with metal bars on the edges. Each option was uncomfortable, with no backs on them. If you're taking it to go or you don't need a comfortable seat and don't mind being very close to the people around you, it's fine. read more

Beautiful place, really inviting decor and a cool outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, the coffee and pastries were just average. Definitely not bad, definitely not the best you've had. Again, as in what seems like all the cafes in the PNW, the espresso was sour and so Im guessing they use light roast beans which I'll never understand. Since this seems so popular I cant dock any stars as I might be the only one who prefers darker roasts for my espresso it seems. I'd love to see more food items and better variety and more exciting pastries on offer. Anyhow, still a solid cafe to work or chill at. read more

This coffee shop is happening! I had been to their NE location, but this spot on NW 19th is particularly bustling with people meeting up, working, chatting, and of course, enjoying the coffee. They use a variety of coffee roasters. They've got a number of specialty lattes, including the sugar cookie, hazelnut, pistachio, stroop, cardamom, and more. They do a mocha with Cloudforest chocolate. They also have all your classic coffee drinks, like espresso, Americano, cappuccino, etc. Milk choices are oat almond, coconut, or cow. Their pastries are from Bakeshop. They also have a retail selection of wines, dishware, mugs and thermoses, etc. I really enjoyed the amber tumblers they served the Cortado out of (pictured). However, my main feedback for the biz is that their thinner amber glasses are too thin - they're hot to the touch and don't keep the coffee warm for long. And I wish the 16oz drinks came in "for here" reusable cups. The space is expansive, full of daylight, industrial, vaguely Swedish-minimal. There is bench, stool, and chair seating inside, and a small handful of sidewalk tables. Street parking only. Open 7am - 8pm! Wow! read more

I love this place. The people who work here are kept very busy but they are always kind and helpful if you ever need a recommendation. You can't go wrong with their menu; every time I try something new I'm glad that I did. Today I tried their Uji Fog Hojicha Latte for the first time and it might be my new favorite. This used to be my neighborhood spot, but I live in Vancouver now and still trek out to this shop on a regular basis to treat myself. Never change, Prince! read more

I like supporting local coffee shops so I decided to check this one out. I ordered a matcha latte which I enjoyed. They also have reasonably priced sandwiches. Prince Coffee is a lovely little shop and such a delight to sit in and enjoy a cuppa or coffee. The aesthetic is very scandinavian--airy, light, and lots of natural wood. So for me, it's perfect. Service is simple and easy; order your drink at the front and then (preferably) enjoy it in their space. The matcha I had was definitely on the higher scale of quality and my partner noted the same for her regular latte. We will definitely be back when we are next in the neighborhood. read more

so busy and packed, the drinks and pastries were incredibly mediocre to me. the shop itself is cute though.

Prince Coffee is a quaint coffee shop with a Dutch influenced menu. I love their simple teal aesthetic accompanied by wood accents. I ordered the Anijsmelk Latte which has star anise syrup and topped with grated nutmeg. I like that the syrup didn't make the drink too sweet but instead added more of a warmth to the coffee with the spice flavor. I also tried the Maple Scone and it was delicious. It seemed like they used a whole wheat flour or incorporated some grains because it had that type of texture. It was definitely healthier than your standard scone. I recommend stopping in here if you're in the area! read more
