I've been by a couple times and tried their different seasonal flavor. I can definitely say that the drinks are overpriced for how they taste because the flavor of the matcha and the coffee never come through that much. The drinks are also consistently quite sweet. However, the servers are always super sweet and the interior is very cute and minimalist - I love the bows on the tree. Another note, something I always review for coffee shops is their wifi and working space. While there are a couple of tables to work/read/journal in the wifi is always questionable. I would definitely not recommend this as a study/work from home spot but it is cute if you're in the neighborhood wanting a spot to rest and chill. read more

The space is gorgeous with plenty of seating, including a few tables outside. It smelled like lemon because they were making a lemon syrup, which only added to the ambiance. The baristas were super friendly and helpful. They do have seasonal lattes, which is always a fun addition. I went with the Banana Cloud Latte and was not disappointed. Is there anything better than a cloud latte? I don't think so. This one was no exception, the cream on top was light, fluffy, and not too sweet. The latte had the perfect hint of banana without it being overpowering. The banana chip was the "cherry" on top. Hypnos is a cute little coffee shop on N. Williams. The outside is as nice as the inside. The customer service is top notch. I was greeted warmly and not rushed to place my order. I ordered an Americano and it was delicious. I didn't have any of the pastries. Inside of the coffee shop are seats and tables and a clean, warm vibe is given off. My only complaint is I wish there was more seating! Other than that, I think I'm in love! read more

Seating wise, they have about 5-6 tables for seating inside and some additional seating outside as well. For their menu, they have a nice selection of coffee and matcha drinks to choose from. I opted to try the Spiced Pear Matcha and it was solid with smooth flavor profile. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We stumbled upon this place by accident, and it was a delight. The flavor of the carrot cake latte was incredible highly recommend drinking it without a straw to really get the flavor in your sips. I really like the location on Williams! Although small and not much seating, the interior is bright and beautiful. The service is great and quick. I stopped by the new location on NW and I will say I won't be visiting again soon. The space is immensely beautiful with a moody atmosphere and quite spacious. I think the seating is nice, if you need a place to work. I don't know if there are outlets though. I think with it being a new location with possible new staff, there are some things that need some tweaking, but should get better with time. I got their long black, sweet corn matcha and an almond croissant as a to-go order. I got the long black fairly quickly and waited some time for the matcha. My partner enjoyed the long black and the almond croissant. I think the sweet corn tasted like any regular matcha latte. Maybe the tiniest hint of the sweet corn. I enjoy their matchas, but I do wish I got one of their coffee drinks instead. read more

I cannot get enough of this coffee! I always treat myself to one of their specially crafted lattes on my walk home from Starcycle spin classes. The coffee has a robust flavor, and even when paired with their delicious seasonal concoctions, can be tasted over your choice of milk. And don't pass up their seasonal clouds! They offer locally made pastries as well. Service is always welcoming and genuinely kind. A great neighborhood spot run by positive and fun people. I've visited this café a few times, both during peak and non-peak hours. Unfortunately, the service is consistently slow. Even for just one cup of coffee, it usually takes around 5-10 minutes, and during busy times, it can take more than 15 minutes. Customers end up waiting a long time because the barista takes quite a while to make each drink. And that's not even counting the time spent trying to find parking -- which can easily take another 15-20 minutes. In total, you might spend 30 minutes or more just to get one to-go coffee. The coffee itself is fine, but the overall experience really isn't worth the wait. I've never experienced wait times like this at any other coffee shop before. read more

I was in the area randomly and thought a coffee would be nice since I was parked right outside anyway. Parking can get a little difficult, but at least it's free. There were a few people inside enjoying their coffees on a random cold afternoon. There was no wait to order, but quite a few people lined up to pick up their drinks, so that took some time. The cashier was friendly and made recommendations. I decided on the blackberry latte. It was perfect, not too sweet or blackberry-y. I thoroughly enjoyed it :) Hypnos is a cute coffee shop. The workers are super friendly and very welcoming. They work quickly and are consistent with their latte art. There is very little seating, however, the place is very clean and bright. What kept me from putting this at a 5/5 was their iced matcha. If you're a serious matcha enjoyer then maybe this place isn't for you. OMG! Literally amazing coffee! This place is one of the reasons why Portland is known for having some of the best coffee shops. Their coffee is excellent, and sometimes they release special coffees and matcha drinks that sell out fast. The pastries are also great, and they offer vegan options from time to time. My goal is to try every drink on the menu, starting with the specialties. The interior is cute and cozy, with limited seating. I've seen people go in to work or just have a little chat. We were staying at an Airbnb close by and were going to venture along N Williams Ave. We knew where we wanted to get pastries but wanted to get coffee from somewhere else. I was googling and scrolling along the map when I saw Hypnos Coffee. No yelp yet but they do have an Instagram. Very photogenic shop! Insta-photo vibes indeed. Different flavored lattes?? Sold. We tried the marron, bramble and vanilla latte. I think they use Coava coffee beans since I see them displayed around. They sure do make a latte right! Or it was just a really cold morning and so a hot/warm cup of coffee was so perfect. We couldn't fully taste the "flavors" of the lattes to be honest, or it was very subtle. Maybe too subtle, but for a non coffee drinker. I enjoyed them all. I see they have new winter flavor offerings on their Instagram page and am jealous! I would go back to try other ones. I did also pick up a kougn amann from their pastry display because it is made like the one back in the bay area! Not the dense flat kind! So it was yummy is what I was trying to say. I'd definitely support this cute artisan chic coffee shop if in the area. :) read more
