Inviting location, amazing avocado toast, great poor over and warm helpful staff. We'll be coming back, love the outdoor seating and open interior come winter, several pastry choices in addition to their more extensive food options like the toasts. Parking along a side street was easy to fine too! read more

what a precious spot in sellwood, i enjoyed my pistachio matcha. i ordered one of their toasts to-go last second too, and whatever gluten free bread they use was SO good!!! such a cute and cozy design, very clean and lots of green plants. indoor & oudoor seating available, and there is a very convenient parking lot on the side of the coffee shop, always nice to have in portland. the baristas here also have a very warm energy, very kind and down to earth, makes you want to come back. if this coffee shop was a song, it would "a be a box full of letters" by wilco! read more

I came here on a first date for a coffee. I settled on the mocha which I had looked on their website prior. It is both gluten and dairy free. I was super excited as I haven't had a mocha in a long time because of that reason The mocha was decent, I wish it would've been a little bit sweeter. Overall, this is a cute small coffee shop. There is parking on the street available for free. Just note the time limits. Overall, I would be back again to try a different drink. read more

A beautiful space to hang out or get some work done. The greenery inside was so soothing. There are plenty of tables, big and small, and bar-style seating with plenty of outlets. The drinks were delicious and came in the cutest ceramic mugs. The toasts were very hearty and filling too, totally recommend the smoked salmon one. Service was fast and friendly! FYI to use the restroom, it is outside up the staircase and you need a key to get in. It was hard to keep track of who had the key and if they were given back to the register, so I'd recommend just waiting outside the restroom if it's in use. read more

The staff is friendly- they gave me a discount just because. Secondly, this was the best iced honey matcha I have ever had. I had to have another. Once I leave here that will be 32oz of matcha in my tummy. Sometimes you have to let loose when it's worth it. The vibes in here are awesome-listening to ABBA and people watching out the window on a drizzly Portland day. They serve healthy Whole Foods-will try next time. read more

Super aesthetic coffee shop! Great coffee, lovely service. I order a chai latte with almond milk, which can be difficult to create decent foam with, but the quality of foam on my drink was impressive. The toast is pretty filling. They give you a thick piece of toast and are not shy with the toppings. The inside is a little small, but nevertheless, the ambiance is very cozy. key highlight: there is a parking lot literally next door. read more

Friendly and helpful staff, fun and clean interior, after I saw the specials included a ube/matcha latte I knew I had to try that combination! The color of the drink was unbeatable, but unfortunately, the drink was very sweet for my liking. I also was able to have a taste of their coffee and that was much more my speed flavor wise. I plan to try more of their coffee drinks next time! read more

This has to be my one of my most favorite coffee shops to go to. I always order a hot mocha and the flavor is always awesome and the art is always on point. Food offerings are good to. You'll have to grab a key at the counter if you want to use the restroom and head outside just around a the corner. There is plenty of seating and a few items for purchase inside. Staff are friendly, kind, and efficient. Good place to work, study, meet-up, or even chill. read more

What a fun little spot! Very much a local community coffee shop with limited seating and warm vibes. I had the toasted coconut latte from the holiday menu and loved it. It wasn't overly sweet and perfectly creamy.. could have used another shot in it to really taste the espresso. The ladies working were quick and friendly at serving everyone that was walking in. There is a small lot next door and some street parking if you are coming in from out of the area. read more

I've been coming here for about three years, and I've always loved this place. The older staff were so friendly, welcoming, and made every visit feel special. Lately, with more of the newer and younger staff, the experience just hasn't felt quite the same. I've had a couple of orders made incorrectly, once there was a hair in my avocado toast, and today my toasted bagel was extremely hard, although still delicious. They've always been kind enough to fix things, and I really appreciate that. I've also noticed that sometimes the person preparing the food seems a little annoyed or unhappy, which may not be intentional, but it does affect the atmosphere. I'm honestly more sad than upset because I really love and have high hopes for it still :( read more

Highest quality lattes. They can add just the right amount of honey to my coffee order. Efficient polite staff.

The coffee was so good, definitely recommend the blueberry matcha. The service was also good and the vibe the shop gives off is nice too

Cute little spot that has indoor seating and outdoor are if you wanted to bring your little furry friends. Could definitely see this as a decent study/work spot, as there is Wifi, that also serves delicious food and drinks! Ended up coming on a Saturday for an late breakfast and the toast did not miss. Bread wasn't toasted, which I kind of wish it was, but it was delicious and tasted so fresh. We ordered the garden toast and the avo + hummus toast. We added salmon to the avo toast and it elevated it to the next level. The latte was so good, but there is a bit of a sweetness to it even without any flavorings! The iced matcha latte was good, but the matcha flavor felt a bit watered down. Wish the taste has more of a presence in the drink. Overall, cute ambiance and super friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new coffee spot and will come back again to try more drinks! read more

I've lived in Portland for 7 months now and this was by far the worst latte I've had. I've been to at least 100 coffee shops and never had a sour latte until this place. Yikes. Maybe it was the baristas first day? Maybe my mistake was not ordering a sugary latte? I took 3 sips and threw it out. Life's too short. read more

I haven't been here in a while and it has gotten better. The coffee is premium and the pours are exceptional. If you dine on site you get glass cups and ceramic plates. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the coffee selection and took the time to answer my questions and make great recommendations. You can really tell they care about what they're serving. The food was freshly made and very well prepared, with great attention to quality and flavor. I tried the chocolate chip cookies, and they were absolutely delicious. Soft, rich, and full of chocolate in every bite. The environment was very clean, calm, and relaxing, making it a perfect place to sit down and enjoy your drink or get some work done. Everything in the establishment was well organized and thoughtfully put together, from the seating area to the presentation of the food and drinks. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with no complaints at all. I would highly, highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great coffee, tasty treats, and a welcoming atmosphere. Iced matcha was fantastic. Didn't try the coffee but it's rare to find a place that makes a good matcha.

Service was meh, coffee was awful, after waiting 20 minutes. Wouldn't recommend unless you like bitter coffee.

Headline: beautiful spot with great drinks. The cappucino and hot chocolate my son and I ordered were perfect. Baristas were fantastic - understated, cool, and know how to craft delicious beverages. The environment is so perfectly "Portland hipster coffee shop" that it's was almost comedic. Except that the vibe - with hanging plants, local artwork and reclaimed wood walls and a fantastic playlist matching the mood - was entirely perfect on the rainy afternoon that we stopped in while on college tours. Sadly, the other patrons working on their laptops in silence made us feel like any conversation was not only unwelcome, that WE were unwelcome. So that's a bummer. Maybe the vibe is different in the mornings when the space isn't just a remote worksite. read more

Fairlane Coffee - If this doesn't scream hipster Portland coffee shop culture, I don't know what does. The aesthetic! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Awesome coffee roaster in the Portland area! I was in desperate need of coffee and couldn't believe I went the whole morning without caffeine, so when I spotted Fairlane Coffee I believed it to be a sign. It truly was. The shop is not open right now due to the pandemic, but they are allowing takeout orders as you can order at the front door. Menu is placed at the window, along with the fresh pastries and list of daily specials. The menu has a full list of different caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks and whatever kind of specialty coffee your heart desires. I like my coffee black with nothing fancy, so just ordered a drip, which was fantastic! You can tell the coffee is money here, so no need to get anything elaborate. Glad to have checked out a local coffee roaster, which beats Starbucks every single time. read more

Local coffee shop that has adapted very well to the pandemic. They have one table out in front where you order, and a second (pictured) where you pick up. This keeps maximum distance between the two lines and you don't go into the shop. It does mean the proprietor has to shuttle between them and the prep area which is extra work for him. I stopped by at 6:30am and ordered a large mocha. It was ready in just a few minutes despite another order being placed just before mine. It was delivered piping hot. It was smooth and choclaty. The coffee flavor wasn't quite as pronounced as some I've had, but it was still wonderful. Great experience, I'll be back! read more

This place is so delicious to the point where I added "Review Fairlane Coffee" to my Reminders because I am so excited to give this place five stars! The first time I came here, I did not make it for the food... but their special drink of the day (which included Oreos - yum) was delicious and memorable. The second time, my beloved and I made the walk to make it for the food... and it needs to be said - I had no idea avocado toast could be so delicious. The interior design is cozy and stylish... the service is lovely... so happy a friend recommended this place. It's a gem. read more

Fairlane Coffee - Looking at this photo = ft. memorable oreo lattes & mouth-watering avocado toast - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Not bad...but not my favorite coffee in Portland. Fairlane is a small, quaint cafe in Sellwood and features a variety of coffees, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches that looked quite good. I came in on a Monday morning and they were busy. Their space is small, with a few single tables, a long study table, and some bar stools at their window. I ordered an iced oatmilk latte, and I thought it was okay...the coffee was not as smooth as I'd thought and was a bit acidic for my liking. I'm not sure if it was the day I was there, or if it's just the norm, but it was really humid and hot inside? Kinda a muggy feeling, not pleasant, hence the iced drink. Maybe it's because the place was small so there wasn't a lot of airflow? I'm not sure, but that and the mediocre coffee didn't leave the greatest first impression on me. But a bonus point to them though, they have wifi, and it's actually pretty fast from what I've experienced at other coffee shops. If you're looking to get some work done, Fairlane has the wifi to support that! Maybe I'll come back to try their food items, but for now, their coffee might not be the reason I return. read more

This is an extremely cozy coffee shop with plenty of seating. The baristas here are also very nice. The coffee can be kind of hit or miss, the hot drinks among the staff are not as consistent from person to person as they are for the cold drinks. I will say that it is still much tastier than going to a bigger chain coffee shop. They're small café menu is really nice and I'm a big fan of the unique options in the pastry case. read more

Very nice coffee shop in the Westmoreland neighborhood. They have delicious coffee and food. Your typical coffee drinks are on the menu, such as Lattes, Cappuccino and Americanos. But what I enjoy the most are their seasonal drinks with their custom made sirups. As for the food options, they have a large verity of baked good, toast, and granola. My favorite is the Ricotta + Berries toast. read more
