I will literally drive out of my way just to come to Keeper Coffee in Milwaukie (their new second location). This location is such a gem and has a completely different feel from their other coffee shop. They serve brunch at this location and it is fantastic, and if you're not sure what to order, get the oats - they're so good, almost like shrimp and grits! The coffee is always on point, but don't sleep on the pastries either. Everything I've tried has been memorable. The space itself is beautiful, with indoor seating, outdoor seating, and even an upstairs area! It's thoughtfully designed, cozy, and a great place to bring your laptop if you work from home and get some work done with their free Wi-Fi. What really makes this place special, though, is the people. Brittany, the owner, is one of the kindest and most welcoming people you'll ever meet. She remembers her customers, genuinely cares about the community, and creates a space that feels warm and inviting every time you walk in. I saw a recommendation for Keeper Coffee in Milwaukie from someone in a vegan Facebook page. I'm so glad I saw the recommendation! There are times when I just want to relax with a cup of coffee, vegan baked good, and a good book. I was able to do all 3 on my recent outing to Milwaukie! I come to Milwaukie about once or twice a month. Keeper Coffee is the kind of place I could have spent the whole afternoon at! It's spacious, and fun decor. I ordered my vegan baked good and a latte with almond milk. Headed upstairs to get a small table. They brought my coffee to me. The coffee flavor was strong and I added a couple packets of stevia, but it was good. The baked good was really delicious. I ended up stepping out in the hallway to use the restroom. It's a really spacious restroom. There were other businesses upstairs and a cool mural. I had no problem finding parking. I will definitely be back! read more

Saturday early afternoon sun is out so we sit outside partial shade from a nice umbrella. Nice large tables with some space. We order inside, ice americano, cappuccino. A breakfast sandwich- get this... flaky biscuit that holds together nicely. House sausage fresh egg and tillamook cheddar... the flavors melt together. Sweets- slight cranberry scone nicely done as well. It holds together but dry enough to flake a bit and the cookie... I forget which one as is disappeared maybe the table next door ate it...idk. I have come here quite a bit over the past six months. It took some time to work out the kinks. But now running smooth. They gave us a number delivered the foo. Everything top quality... 9 out of 10... As food goes in the world...this was a 10 today. Oh the coffee, Portland has some great coffee and they serve some of the best. I enjoy the ambiance, and spacious areas for seating. Very beautiful space! The staff has been friendly and love that they are actually conversational. Disclaimer, I'm not a coffee drinker. So I don't believe this review is representative of their other drinks. This review is for their matcha! I tried their matcha twice now and I've been disappointed. They use a higher quality matcha which I greatly appreciate! But at the end of the day the drink does not taste good and the matcha separates from the milk within 5 minutes. I think there may be an issue with the preparation process. I will definitely return for the space and pastries, but I am still disappointed that I can't enjoy matcha there! read more

Large gorgeous space. I absolutely love that I didn't have to pap for parking, and that there was such a large number of parking spots right outside. That's SO rare in the PDX area so I was grateful for that. My chai was really nice, and had a nice little kick to it. They had some nice sounding food options, but the prices were insanely high so I didn't try them out this time. They claim that the prices are that high because they don't do tips...idk. The pastry case was loaded with delicious looking pastries and my friend who was with me said hers was delicious, so I'll definitely try it next time. If you can, avoid going at peak times. Even though they have loads of seating, I had to wait a while for a place to sit and the line was all the way outside and down the wheelchair ramp. First of all, this location is beautiful. The inside and the outside are so cute. There is, however, pretty limited seating in the downstairs, especially if you go on the weekend. We waited in a line that was out the door and were not able to find anywhere to sit, the upstairs seating was not accessible to us due to mobility reasons. The chai with the harvest moon syrup was delicious. The food was also quite good, albeit a bit expensive. I would probably try to go back on a weekday if possible next time. read more

This coffee shop is set in the former City Hall building for the city of Milwaukee. A clean and modern space with good touches of character throughout. The staff is exceptionally friendly and they serve Coava coffee, which is irrefutably the best coffee roasted in the state of Oregon. Parking is fairly convenient on the adjacent streets and in the city lots just across the street from the shop. They have a full food menu from 8 AM to 3 PM and their standard hours are seven days a week from 7 AM to 5 PM. The space itself is two stories with the coffee bar downstairs and a really cool space upstairs for a longer visit. Plus Pfriem is literally right next door and it's connected in the same building so you can walk next-door when you are ready for happy hour Very different from their other location in SE Portland, but the coffee and service are on par... so definitely one not to miss! On this visit, I had to take my Americano to go... but I'll definitely plan to stay longer next time. read more

They also have tables outside if you want to enjoy your coffee outdoors. They serve coffee and tea along with a wide variety of pastries. They have a pretty good brunch menu as well. I stopped in briefly today to grab a matcha to-go, but definitely will be back to try their brunch. I went twice on my 3 night stay visiting friends in Milwaukie. Loved it so had to go back a second time! I had a lovely latte each time, and tried out their daily baked goods and menu items - all delicious! Many locals gather here, there's a reason there is often a line! Take your time and take a seat to enjoy this great local spot! I did take a gluten free pumpkin muffin home for the next day too, and it was outstanding. I have so many nice things to say about Keeper Coffee. This was my first time here and I love the ambiance inside. There are local goods available for purchase and there's so much seating available. I went to the counter and asked for a recommendation for a syrup to go in an iced matcha. Right now they have a seasonal, fresh strawberry syrup and they layered it so beautifully in my matcha. I gave it a quick stir and absolutely loved it. The fresh, fruity flavor of the syrup pairs so well with the grassy, matcha flavor. The servers/baristas were all so nice, as well. I will say that the drinks felt a little expensive, but fair among coffee shops of the same caliber in the area. You come here for great quality and handmade flavors. This is my new favorite coffee shop in Portland and maybe ever. There are two keeper coffee locations, I think this one on Milwaukee is new. Easy to find parking and tons of indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas. Baristas were very friendly. Great service. The scone was one of the best I have ever had. It was not dry, crunchier on the outside and soft on the inside. The rosemary sugar on top was delicious and subtle and I don't usually love rosemary flavored things. It came with lemon curd which was a nice touch. I definitely need to try some of the other pastries here they all looked so good. Coffee was great. They have a great food menu as well if you want an actual meal. Overall, this place is so cute and the food and coffee is amazing. Definitely will be one of my go to spots going forward. read more

Keeper has become my go to coffee and baked goods stop...even though I live 30 minutes away. It is WORTH it!!! The coffee is perfect every time and the baked goods are so amazing!! The marionberry galette is my favorite followed closely by the chewy, fudge cookie. And their bacon breakfast sandwich is delicious! Basically everything I have tried, including their sit down breakfast dishes, is sooooo gooood! This is a cute little coffee shop in downtown Milwaukie. I ordered the ice matcha with strawberry syrup and a slice of coffee cake. The coffee cake was absolutely delicious! It was moist with a good crunch from the crumble. The matcha was a bit lacking but the strawberry syrup was very good. Nice to go to hang out with friends and family, plus there's a vintage shop just down the road and an indie bookstore. But I don't recommend for doing homework. We drive half an hour across the city to get here because 1. their coffee is really good 2. it's HOT, not warm, but HOT which is what my husband and I want when we order hot drinks 3. they offer my favorite oat milk OATLY, and 4. this place is adorable, inside and out - cute cozy interior, beautiful redbrick renovated premises and a lovely green outdoor space with trees, benches, chairs etc. We've enjoyed brief conversations with some of the people here; families hanging out in the sunshine with their drinks and their kids, kind staff members and couples we've shared tables with from time to time. The atmosphere, so far, has always been pleasant, and I've already made several future 'coffee dates' with many of my friends who are excited to check the place out. Looking forward to it. read more

The seating area is very spacious and cozy. Great selection of pastries. The coffee is not good considering they're a "specialty coffee shop." If you don't care how your coffee tastes then this place is good. They have a random rule of no computers on their tables Friday-Sunday, weekends makes sense but on a Friday when people still have work and most of their customers during weekdays bring laptops is pretty unreasonable. I was forced to put my laptop away even though I had food and there was plenty of room for others. If you want to sit and vibe in a cute shop, great choice. Cannot tell you how happy I am to find such a high end bakery/coffee house/lunch place. I found out after getting their lemon tart, that they have their own in house bakery. You can taste the expertise of their staff in the food and it is being served by an awesome and professional friendly wonderful staff. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and vibrant. I have lived in Beaverton for a while now but this was my first trip to Milwaukie and I am pleased as punch. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.
