Next door to MS RECORDS (turntable with original picks adds ambiance inside) gazing over at Cherry Sprout Produce, this is casual brunchy patio dining at its finest. No café would be complete without pastries, and their case is chock-full (GF options also available). THE GRITTY: Service is hit-or-miss, but the kitchen is exceptional with a garden fresh Farmer's Salad + Smoked Trout (green strawberries, cucumber, radish, hazelnuts) in the lightest vinaigrette, shaved cheese on top. The Salted Apricot Matcha was sweet & green, but lacking reported fruit/salt nuances. For a third try, I'd love to sample some of their featured Six Cups herbal tea, Chef's recommendations, or catering! read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and surprisingly only had to wait a few minutes for a table for two. The space is cute and relatively small, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets crowded and has a longer wait. They have a counter with a bunch of pastries and several people came and got food and pastries to go. We got the full corn cakes plate and the trout sandwich and both were excellent. I would say the corn cakes were the better of the two dishes but I would get either of them again. The menu isn't massive, so you have to like what they have to like the restaurant, but at the very least both of these dishes were excellent! The coffee was quite tasty too and has bottomless refills which is always nice. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu! read more

Sweedeedee is undeniably cute. If you're looking for a brunch spot with great aesthetics, good lighting, and plenty of photo opportunities, this is your place. It's definitely a spot for the girls, a coffee date, and a few Instagram stories. That said, I found the menu to be pretty limited, and the food didn't wow me as much as I was hoping it would. The space is also fairly cramped, especially when it's busy. Overall, it's a bit of a mid brunch spot for me - great vibes, cute atmosphere, but not somewhere I'd necessarily go out of my way for the food. read more

What a gem in the Mississippi neighborhood . I am visiting and passed by on the way to the rose garden and overheard locals talking about their meal. We chatted a bit and so I decided to try it out . Everything is fresh and made to order . Great service and food but don't be in a rush . Good things come to those who wait. Grab a coffee or drink and kick back with conversations and listen to the music on the turn table . You won't be disappointed! read more

A cute cafe for a date! This spot can have a wait with a lot of small tables. There is a record store next door you can shop while you wait. A menu that leans a little healthier and European inspired. I had the breakfast sandwich, which was okay. The bread and bacon were a little overdone, but side salad added on it helped. The hot sauce is a must add! Farm salad was fresh and delicious, but small. Turkey sandwich was not huge, but it was pretty good. Some prices seem high, like $22 for minestrone- but others fair. Service was not the best, but it was busy. It's worth a try overall. read more

I really wanted to like this cafe and I have tried to come here once before but it is very small and was too crowded. I got the turkey sandwhich and it looked delicious but there was so much horseradish sauce on it that it overpowered everything and I couldn't finish it. I wouldn't reccomend ordering that. The pastries looked very yummy as well but the flies in the case and around were a little off putting. Servers were very nice though and this place is cute with a good menu. I think I just ordered wrong. read more

Sweedeedee is an absolute brunch dream. We truly enjoyed ourselves there so much that we returned two more times while on vacation. The place is intimate, homey and comforting. Staff was welcoming and very friendly. Wish we could have tried the whole menu but we were definitely stuck on the corn cakes. I guess we will have to back again to tackle the rest of the menu. read more

Sweedeedee always has the best pastry items! Last time I was there we had an olive oil cake which was super dense but not dry at all, and the frosting was so good! We also ordered biscuits (i think they were chive and cheddar) and highly recommend getting the butter that comes along with it! read more

One of my favorite brunch spots. Very zen atmosphere when I come here. Seating is perfect for small groups or for solo diners. It's a cozy interior with not a whole lot of seating inside. If you come solo you can be seated quickly, 2 or more and you're probably gonna have to wait. I got the Spanish tortilla with romesco sauce and salad and my friend had the breakfast plate. We split the bacon. Everything was delicious, my only comment is that the breakfast plate seemed kind of low value. Not a lot of food for a lot of $$$. In fact, all of the portions here are fairly small. This is going to depend on your appetite obvi but my friend and I had just finished a 2 hr workout and we were a little ravenous. This is probably the spot for you if you're not feeling incredibly hungry or you don't mind running up a check lol. read more

Ordered: -Spanish tortilla -Corn cakes + bacon Pro: -Such cute interior!! It is cozy, chic and the staff are really nice. Prepare for a wait unless you come in on a weekday. -Our favorite was the Spanish tortilla. It came out looking nothing like we expected; and tasted unexpected!! It has a hint of spice, had the texture of tamago, and tasted like fresh vegetables though we couldn't identify which. The sauce was very delightful!! -Corn cakes has great texture, were fluffy and super tasty!! Con: -The corn cakes and bacon were slightly too salty for our personal tastes read more

genuinely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The girl waiting our table was so rude. She talked to us like we were lesser than and didn't respond to us when we said things like thank you or tried to make small talk she just stared at us. I work customer service so I understand the importance of employee support and this was just someone who did not know how to treat customers with respect. 10/10 do not recommend having the lady with short straight brown hair in a ponytail wait your table. I had such high hopes for this place! read more

My partner and I came for a Valentine's breakfast and were looking forward to returning since our last visit was in 2023. I enjoyed the breakfast plate and my partner ordered the smoked trout sandwich. The cafe au lait was delicious! We both left feeling disappointed with the service though. Our servers didn't check in on us once but did check in on their other patrons... (we're Latino)... noticing. This disappointed us as the patrons next to us were checked in on back to back. Overall, we don't plan on returning. read more

Inexplicably slow. Like when you see a party seated you want to warn them that the cafe is about to eat 3 hours of their Saturday morning. Food quality was trending down, but seems to have leveled off. If you went during the heyday I would think twice about going back. If you are new to the spot its probably still pretty satisfying. If you have worked in restaurants its hard to watch. read more

I stopped by sweedeedee by coincidence for some breakfast. Waitresses were nice and let us sit at any open table to our liking. Small little cafe, with maybe less than 10 tables. We ordered these little pastry puffs, Profiteroles, when we were waiting for our table and omg this was the highlight of the restaurant for sure, Highly recommend. For brunch we ordered the breakfast sandwich. The eggs were good and the spicy mayo to egg ratio was spot on. However, the focaccia bread I thought was going to be like the bread that they had for their cabbage sandwich instead of a bun style. I think the sandwich could also be next level with avocado & arugula added to it especially if you're vegetarian and don't want to add the bacon. read more

I came here for brunch with friends and had an amazing time. The decor of the spot is so adorable, dainty, and quaint. They also even have a spot where you can buy wines and some cooking ingredients! However, the inside of the restaurant is very small, with enough space for just over ten people, so my friends and I dined outside. We got the Breakfast Sandwich, French Toast with Blueberries and Lemon Curd, Breakfast Plate, and Danish plate. Everything was a good portion and great. Overall, I thoroughly loved my brunch here and would come again if I were in the area. read more

We had a fabulous experience here! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's a really cute space with nice windows and light. The food, omg. Absolutely in heaven. Honestly one of the best/most unique and delicious breakfasts i've had in a LONG time. On a Thursday morning, there was a wait for an indoor table and no wait at all for an outside table (it was a bit chilly), we went with an outside table. Strong and smooth coffee came right out, plus we ordered one pear and frangipane tart and a small olive oil cake with hibiscus whip. If you are at Sweedeedee and both of these are available, you should 100% get them both, even if you are dining alone. For breakfast all three of us ordered the same thing, the breakfast plate with bacon... The egg-perfectly cooked soft egg cut in half and sprinkled with a seasoned salt The bacon-cooked to the compromise between crispy and limp, thick slices, nice The rye toast-honestly a revelation, the most delicious heavily seeded rye bread i've ever had, griddled with butter The squash butter and the garlic ramps, were extra! I wish I had had more room to keep ordering, especially the grandma's toast with butter and cinnamon. Next time! read more

Terrible service. We got a table at 9 oclock and left at 930 without even being given water.

Decided to try this spot on my roadtrip through Oregon and just needed a quick bite. I got a drip coffee with the breakfast plate which was honestly a perfect meal. The drip coffee gave me cozy feelings and the food was a well balanced plate. It had fruit, cheese, toast, eggs and a salad. I added bacon for additional protein. Space wise it was a bit of a squeeze but honestly we were in and out in a timely manner. read more

This is just such a cute neighborhood spot. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating but it's worth the wait. All the staff are very friendly and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the food. They use a lot of seasonal produce which makes everything feel so fresh. I would say their pastries/baked goods are the star of the show, though. The Chive Biscuit was to die for! Coffee isn't the best but their loose leaf tea selection is great! Added bonus is that they play records from next door! Overall, a little pricey for a brunch but if you care about ambience and thought put into food, then this is a perfect spot. read more

I wanted to love this place but after waiting over an hour (1 hr 20 minutes) for a table for 3 people I just can't get behind being forced to wait that long. They had 2 (2 top tables) that could easily be moved but instead seated couples who just walked in the door. You should never make customers wait that long when you could very easily push tables together. Just wasn't worth the wait. I ended up leaving read more

Where can I start? They brought me the wrong order 2 times. And all the time they were acting like was my fault. I understand that mistakes happens but don't act like is my fault. They gave us a tiny tiny coffee cup, so of course we needed a refill. We asked many times and no refill of coffee. When was time to go we asked for a to go coffee. For our surprise they charged us for that coffee to go. At that point we just wanted to leave and definitely we are not going back. My wife had a breakfast plate which she wasn't happy at all about that. Bread was hard and the cucumber salad that comes with was that very strange. I agree with previous reviews. Service very slow even when it's not busy. read more

Sweedeedee is a utopia of aesthetically pleasing food with a dash of hipster snobbery amongst the crowd and staff that reminds me a lot of my days in LA. Nonetheless, the pastry I had (some sort of raspberry custard) was so so so good. We waited in a line that went through the door for an order and go type situation. We came around 12pm on a Saturday and they were already out of majority of their pastry selections which is a good sign, people love this place. The space inside is elbow to elbow when it's busy, be prepared. The pastry was ~$8 which was a pretty hefty price tag for one pastry but I do love helping local businesses and have no regrets. I am not sure if I would go out of my way to spend that much again on a singular pastry but it was exceptional quality and the space was super cute inside. read more

Such a quaint little spot! Loved how cute and cozy it was inside. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend arriving right when they open, as there's no reservations and they fill up quick! I particularly loved the pastries we got and mimosas too, of course. :) Didn't love the breakfast sandwich, but honestly, I'm not super into eggs, so maybe it's a me thing. Didn't take a picture, but I really enjoyed the winter greens salad too! Would definitely recommend this as a nice date spot. read more

Sweedeedee is and always has been a magical place. If you are looking for fast food, you might want to keep going. Urgency and a sense of entitlement to convenience is a global sickness. So I've been to Sweedeedee several times now and I felt the need to write a review after my most recent visit. Because I keep thinking about it. Specifically: Grandma's bread with cinnamon sugar and butter. So the atmosphere is charming. It feels European. Small. Cozy. A little sundry inside. A pastry case with unbelievable desserts. It's warm. There's always an actual record playing on a record player. No reservations, which always makes me nervous, but I've never waited more than 20 mins there. Service is lovely. I'm beginning to recognize folks there. Prices are high for small portions but it's worth it. Clearly the quality of ingredients are really top notch. I never go without getting some focaccia. It's fantastic. Now I'll never go without grandma's Bread. It's unlike any bread I've had before. I keep speaking on it! I had a cup of local tea and a fantastic Niçoise salad with poached tuna. The salad was so fresh and crunchy and plated in the most beautiful way. The menu changes and I've never had a bad meal. Dinner I would get some of the pasta options. Always get 1 or 2 things to share on top of your own dish. Don't forget to save room for dessert (I once had a passion fruit princess cake that is truly the best cake I've ever had.) (But also; order grandma's bread. Enhance it with cinnamon!) read more

Sweedeedee was recommended by a friend while on a trip to PDX. It was a group of three of us and the service was prompt and friendly. We went during the week right around lunch time and there was about a 15 minute wait. I ordered a breakfast bowl and a side of their beets. The food is consistently good here, if you're lucky enough to get any service. Half the time, the wait staff are cold and uninviting. All the time, they're impossible to find, never checking in, refilling coffee/drinks. Please switch to counter service, because sitting for 20+ minutes without someone checking in on you is embarrassing. read more

Best breakfast in Portland. Hands down. No question. On Saturday mornings they open at 9 and there is usually already a line, so get there right away. Everyone is friendly though and even if you don't get seated right away, you can sip a coffee and have a pastry while you wait. Their pastry chef is truly one of the best in the biz!! Visited this place a few weeks ago with a friend. We had expectations as we've been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was so delicious. I got the French toast which came with lemon curd, cultured butter, blueberries and powdered sugar. It was so yum! I also had their coffee and they provide free refills which is awesome. The ambience is lovely. Very minimalist space that is complimented nicely by natural lighting if you sit inside. Simple menu but I've heard good things about it so decided to finally try it. There's like 10 tables total and only half of them were sat but was quoted 20 minutes, ok fine not a big deal. However, no sense of urgency from the staff who were just walking around, chatting, taking their time to clean and set the tables, even though there's like 5 groups waiting to be sat. Almost an hour later finally got a table but while sitting there for a bit we decided to leave, given that after waiting an hour I didn't have another 2 hours to get my order taken, have the food made and actually sit and enjoy it. read more
