This is absolutely our favorite brunch in PDX. Hands-down. You've read my reviews, coast-to-coast, this one gets me every time. I can't gush more about such a fabulous little cafe! Caffe Destino was an accidental find, while house-shopping one weekend. We decided to stop in for a quick bite. Gosh, did we make the right decision. We're going on two-months of visiting Caffe Destino almost every single weekend. I look forward to it every week. Everything about this establishment is fabulous! First, you walk in to find a lovely walk-up counter with a menu just large enough to offer multiple options without being overwhelming. Second, the staff is always friendly and meets you with a smile. Thirdly, their food choices are fantastic, nothing we've ordered has been anything less than fabulous. Our usual choice are the Berry Bowl, Avocado Toast, and the Destino Special (my favorite!). My partner LOVES the Berry Bowl which has now become his #1 choice. He raves about it. The Destino Special is always perfectly done. Eggs cooked any way you like them, choice of meat, potatoes, and a bread option. Now, if I could, I'd do the bacon & cheddar biscuit with it every week (upcharge from the normal choices) but alas, it is HUGE! Nonetheless, the meal is fabulous, cooked to order, and served hot, without fail. Coffee is on-point for PDX, not overwhelming and piping hot every time. The ambiance is great, indoors and outdoors! Price is extremely fair and parking is always somewhere nearby. I cannot rave enough about this little gem hidden in the Alameda Neighborhood just behind the Whole Foods. The drinks and atmosphere are fine. The mixed-berry scone was strangely salty as well as sweet, I won't order that again. Didn't try any other food. But the big draw here is the wonderful music from John Silliman Dodge 10 am-noon Sundays. Dodge sets up on the corner and plays. You're free to ignore him and chatter or look at a screen if you want, but you'll be missing out on his terrific solo-guitar arrangements of pop tunes, jazz standards, even a classical piece here and there. Really a treat to hear this superb musician in an intimate space, free of charge (but please tip him!) on a Sunday morning over coffee. read more

Caffe Destino is a cute little cafe I pass by nearly every work day, but I'd never been in. The staff were friendly and kind of attentive. I was able to look at the menu and I placed my order, which was then made fresh. I ordered Chilaquiles Rojo. They were ok - the sauce was pretty salty after reheating. I don't know that ordering Chilaquiles from a cafe was the right move. I'll definitely give Caffe Destino another try. They had some quiches for sale and they looked pretty good. read more

The food was moderately tasteful, the lady running it was in shambles. I really came here to have the breakfast sandwich, I don't eat egg so I asked for it on the side so my boyfriend can eat it and everything ended up on the side, which was confusing. The biscuit was very salty and lack luster in flavor. The ambiance of the cafe was nice, feeling very homie. I just wish the food was a bit better, I love the idea of a bacon chive biscuit. The smoothie was also very mild in flavor, tasting only orange juice. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite, since there is a good amount of parking and they were quick. read more

Food was great. The restaurant was super cute and well decorated. We had breakfast burritos and split a mixed berry pie. We had to step out while waiting on our food because our eyes were burning. Possibly because they were chopping onions( a sign of freshness). Also during our meal our eyes burned again. After getting our food however, the shorter chef kept staring at us from the kitchen door. We noticed him every minute of the meal making our dining experience unsatisfactory. read more

This is a cute and cozy little cafe. We went on a rainy Sunday and really enjoyed listening to the live guitar being played. The cafe was busy but the service was still very fast. I don't know what I could say about this place that does it justice. My wife, two year old son, and I were headed to another spot for brunch. I was a little disappointed because I really felt like diner food. We've passed by this place at least twice a week for the past three years. This time I asked about it while driving past, my wife looked it up and we decided to change our destination. My only disappointment was that we hadn't discovered it earlier. The service was incredible, Zoe behind the counter was incredibly nice and paid extra attention to our toddler, getting him talking and actually having a conversation. Zoe then walked us through the whole menu gauged our hunger levels and recommended accordingly. I got the biscuits and gravy, which came out steaming hot and quick. My wife got a hash that was equally as hot. Be aware this place does not shy away from portions! I was completely satisfied, and for the price I felt like I was robbing them! After eating here my wife and I couldn't stop talking about how great it was. We'll be back soon, probably Friday... I wish it wasn't Monday. read more

If you're in the area but want to try a local shop that isn't starbucks just come a block down to Caffe Destino! It's a cute little corner shop that has a couple outdoor tables in addition to their indoor space. It's a really cute and cozy space where a lot of people come to read or enjoy a meal. I didn't get to try their food this time but ended up trying one of their seasonal drinks - PSL for the fall of course! Drink was solid and service was quick. I'd be curious to come back to try their food items because people seem to enjoy it on Yelp. read more

Standouts are excellent service and overall vibe. I was attracted to the mushroom coffee sign. I'm not versed enough in all the health claims, but it tasted good. You do pay a premium. The slight let down was the Millie's Choice breakfast sandwich, I paid extra for the biscuit option. - Most notably, the bacon was very thin, it had a low quality to it. - It's semi-non functional, i.e., it was too tall. - Everyday dark yellow cheddar is bland and boring, so premium sandwich shops are opting for sharp white cheddar. - Some sort of interesting sauce would take it to the next level. - I'm not a fan of the you can add this for $2 and that for $2.50 pricing model. Just make a kick ass sandwich and don't try to please everyone. I look forward to trying other menu items. read more

Hands down, my favorite baked goods in Portland. My favorites are the cinnamon scones or the apple pie.

Cute corner cafe. Food seemed to be appreciated. We had the pastrami sandwich with avocado (more like a guacamole) but I thought it was tasty. The food seemed to be priced a little higher than I would have thought. I did love that they had live music but made it difficult to chat due to the noise. Also there aren't a lot of tables so not good for a decent crowd. read more

Awesome place! Came from the Toronto area, Ontario and needed a place to go and work for the day. Picked the right spot! It was a cozy, friendly, and popular place with nice ambience, friendly Portlanders, calm lighting, easy tunes and amazing food. Never had a REAL lemon pie until today and the Greek salad was best ever, and breakfast was a fresh amazing local bagel. (Yes, I was here the whole day and they fed and wifi'd me with a smile the whole time). Only reason I'm leaving is because it's closing now and I'm sure they're ready to go home - they worked hard and I appreciate their hospitality! Came here around 8:30am Sunday morning and there was plenty of seating both indoors and outside. This place is such a hidden gem. I live nearby but have never been before and I can't wait to come back. Ordered a drip coffee and a bacon cheddar chive biscuit. Loved how there was a choice of light or dark roast for the drip. I got the dark and it was exactly what I wanted. The biscuit was perfection. Came hot and buttered and so flavorful. They have plenty of baked goods and a full breakfast menu too, I can't wait to try more. The space inside is very cozy. I loved the windows and the plants inside. The freshly cut flowers on all the tables was a nice touch as well. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I heard one of the baristas greet people by name after we sat down. Customer recommend this place. Could not have been better!! Service was awesome! The eggs were phenomenal, fresh and cooked perfectly! My smoothie was on point! Coolest little place you ever wanted to get cozy and read a book in! Smelled terrific too! I'm a huge advocate of supporting local eateries. I was keen on trying out this cute little cafe that never seemed to make it onto my radar before moving to the neighborhood. Now, I've been here multiple times. The good thing is that the people who work here are so incredibly kind and sweet, I almost didn't write this review out of fear of hurting their feelings. But the coffee? Probably the worst I've ever had in Portland. It's telling when I wish I'd spent the $7 or so at Starbucks a block over (somehow a half step better). Everything tastes burnt. Drip, hot and iced lattes. Milk? Oat? Everything. Their foods haven't tickled my fancy so my review is specific to their coffee. From what I've heard from others, their strength is in their food (especially their key lime pie). But I'm not a big sweets person. Five stars for the wonderful staff. Very disappointed. It seemed like a cute little coffee shop turns into an after hours drinking spot. Low key, some food, some dessert. It is small and quaint. You get a coupon for dessert on checking in. We showed up before dinner reservations for a quick spiked coffee drink. We had 25 minutes before our reservation 2 doors down. There's only 1 person working. We get there and there's no one upfront but can hear someone working in back. Minutes pass someone comes out, helps another couple, dives back in the back more cooking noise. More minutes, comes out to serve food and goes back in the back. Now we have 9 minutes to reservation. No way she can make our drinks and we can drink them that fast. We leave. She was still in the back. There was a group of about 4 or 5, 2 couples at the window, and a couple at the bar. She was alone. Possibly cute good place but not staffed for several people and definitely not good to drop by with 25 minutes for a quick drink. read more
