I had an amazing bagel at this spot! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the friendly staff. They were so welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. It's clear they take pride in both the food and the service. A fantastic way to kick off the morning, and I'll definitely be back! Highly recommend! Also look how cute my brother's latte design was??

It is exactly that ~ a neighborhood coffee joint with just unicorns. Apparently Bob is a collector of sorts, so find random nicknacks in every crevice. Every crevice. Light bites for breakfast. Just a local spot for Albertans to wake up with a cup of coffee and chat the day away. Restroom just needs a remodel. No Bob sighting.

This place's vibe is so chill and fun! It feels very Portland coffee shop without the hipster over priced coffee. The service is quick and friendly! They charge 4% on cards so cash is definitely recommended. I had a coconut milk latte and my partner had a vanilla almond milk latte and we both loved the flavors! Will be coming back

An Alberta coffee shop with plenty of character! Just Bob is the cutest coffee shop with plenty of unicorn decor and even a playroom in the back corner for your children. They have awesome staff that greeted you as you came in. The place is order and then find a seat and I really enjoyed how they had a variety of seating for you to enjoy the place. Once you place your order they will call you for your drinks but will bring your food to your table. When you're done you clean your own table. As people left we saw the staff clean the table before another group sat down. As for what to get the drinks here are a must try! I thoroughly enjoyed their nutty mocha and chai. Perfect for a cold day since they come out piping hot and have fun latte art. For food I also tried the phylo wrap with the German sausage since you don't usually find that on a menu and it was pretty good. Came with a variety of mustards as well. I believe they are made to order so can be ~15 mins. I also tried the breakfast bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. I think they steam the egg here which was not your typical bagel. Solid toasted bagel that you might need to eat with a fork since some pieces might fall out as your eating it. As I was looking around the space they have art covering the walls as well and seem to have events here too!

I highly recommend. Great food, coffee, fun mix of music playing and friendly staff. Love the breakfast sandwiches with steamed egg on a fresh bagel. So many choices on Alberta but this is my go-to when visiting the area. Funky and fun eclectic space...or maybe Bob is just a collector of random things. Love the atmosphere, perfect place to enjoy a coffee while reading a book sitting in the puffy armchairs. Some outdoor seating to soak in the sun on those perfect sunny days and dog friendly with treats for your pup to enjoy.

I had an amazing iced decaf Americano, sitting outside on a lovely day. Inside seating includes comfy chairs as well as tables and chairs. (There is also a play area for kids while supervised by their parents.) Service is pleasant, and unhurried. The eclectic interior theme is primarily unicorns!

Serious Food Safety Violations going on here that have been reported to appropriate parties: My husband and I came in and ordered coffees and bagel sandwiches. We sat at the bar and watched our items (&others being made), we also had a view of the back kitchen area from our seats. Guy who took our order handled kiosk , made our coffees, then immediately went to a small cutting board, lined with items that should be refrigerated (eggs, cheese, dairy spreads) but obviously are left out permanently to make sandwiches all day and began making our bagels. No hand washing, no gloves. Note I also have a gluten and egg allergy so many things he did cross contaminate everything here be warned if you have allergies too. He touched everything with his naked hands, including in the back prep area. He then used the cutting board he was cutting bagels on to crack raw eggs into a glass (getting raw egg onto a surface premade/cooked food goes). He went to the espresso machine and used the milk steamer wand to cook the egg in the cup! Then wiped that wand with a used towel and placed a glass of water (I assume it's water) back under the steam wand like they use to clean in btw milk froths (so mixing the egg with the milky water solution to contaminate every other milk frothed beverage with egg the rest of the day!) Absolutely appalling to watch. The raw egg cutting board was never wiped or changed out. I also watched the man touch his clothing, face and a trash can in between making multiple orders-WITHOUT GLOVES. A female employee then came in, set her things done and jumped in to cut, and smear bagels. No gloves! No hand wash from when she entered the building to touching food. She was also seen in the back bared handed-handling produce and assembling food. So in the 40 mins we were there neither employee washed their hands once in between touching money, raw items, themselves, and on to cooked food items. If you go here get a coffee (without frothed milk) and nothing else. I took photos of his non-gloved hands touching food but was too shocked to get a photo of the egg-milk-frother-incident.

First off, I'm not a big coffee guy, so this review is 0% about their coffee. They have coffee. When I go to a coffee shop, it's all about the coziness level, if they have comfortable seats to sit and study/work for a while, preferably with some good nooks and crannies (I love crannies). This place definitely fits the bill, and on top of all that, they have beer on tap! Definitely my type of coffee shop. I tried one of their puff pastry wraps as well, the zenner sausage was quite delicious w/ sauerkraut and mustard.

The owner's name is Bob. Not Robert. Just Bob. And he's put together the best staff in the city, also serving up the best bagel in the city (Spielman). A friend called this a "very 90s Portland coffee shop." And that's a huge compliment. It's comfortable. It's funky. It's friendly. Come for a quick cup to go or stick around and enjoy the atmosphere with me (I'm a regular and I'm not sure why I haven't left a review until now!). Lots of indoor seating, a covered patio, and even a five-seat bar (where you can get wine, beer on tap, and a couple signature cocktails, if that's your thing). I could say more, but my kids are calling me over to the play area (oh right! There's that, too. Can you believe all of these things coincide in harmony at one coffee shop? You really have to see it to believe it.)

The space itself is smaller and intimate, so bringing a larger group than about 4-5 people might not be ideal. The ambiance definitely gave Italy vibes, for sure. The chicken liver mousse was a good consistency, paired with the figs gave a nice balance between sweet and savory. The steak frites was a classic, steak was a good portion and cooked medium rare, but I'm sure if you wanted it more cooked through, you could make that request. The fries were definitely a standout, great texture and the garlic flavor gave a good contrast to the steak. My favorite dish was the dessert, the flaky crust gave a nice texture to the cream insides. I'm a huge passionfruit fan, so once I saw it was on the menu, I knew I had to try it. It didn't disappoint and I would definitely come back just for this dish alone. Overall a solid experience and would recommend people to try Canard out at least once!

Vibe wise, the ambience is overall really nice. I think having rolled flatware, even with just upgraded napkins, would better complete the aesthetic you initially see and feel. This would also connect with the price point of the food and quality of the beverages. As a fellow server, on that note I would expect more consistent stronger visual appearance standards with servers. (Sorry guys! But some of you looked great!) Overall, I'd definitely join a friend for coffee and lunch over there in the future. Just wouldn't be my top pick for a celebratory brunch or intimate dinner with a date or friends and fam.

The salmon benedict, although highly recommended by the waitress, was extremely fishy, even though the "hollandaise sauce" (which had no depth of flavor, and was just thick) covered the entirety of the egg, salmon, and english muffin. It came with cheesy hash browns which again had no depth of flavor. Cheese makes anything tasty but it was just too much. The service, while friendly, was not attentive.
