Philly cheese steak sandwich is the BEST PHILLY SANDWICH I HAVE HAD IN YEARS!!! It Meaty, It was Cheesy, it had peppers and onions it was on a roll that could handle all the meat, cheese, peppers and onions and still be soft enough to eat. So juicy by its self but they also provide Ajus to dip it in and your choice of a side. My date finally found the best Chicken fried Steak he had been looking for a while. I normally don't give a review unless I have been to a place multiple times, but this place was great! Super friendly staff that were super accommodating to our party of 5 (with 3 kids) - even when we spilled a whole cup of chocolate milk on the floor! Food was super delicious! We are thinking they may even make their own butter and chips? Everything tastes like it was made in- house. Definitely try those sweet cream pancakes too! read more

This is in regards to the service only, the food is pretty good. I took my daughter out to Coyote Joe's today, a restaurant we've been wanting to try for awhile. She lives close by, I do not, so we were looking forward to eating there. The bad service started at the get go. It was around 12:30 and somewhat busy. The server rushed past us and told us to sit at any "clean table". A few minutes later, with barely a glance, she brought us menus. She never asked if she could bring us some beverages and several minutes later took our order. The food came out close to 1/2 hour later. And yet again, barely a glance when she brought it to us. She never stopped by to check if we needed anything or on how the food was. The ceiling fans (there are several) were on high speed so we dealt with a cold restaurant as well as poor service. She came by about 10 minutes after we were done and asked if we needed some boxes. We went up to the register to pay and after she handed my card back to me all she said was "here's your copy, here's ours". That was the last thing she said as she turned around to do more restocking chores. My response? I wrote Terrible Service at the top, and left no tip. read more

I've eaten here a few times over the decades and they never disappoint. There is a forest road that runs from Blaine to Willamina and goes through a couple of well hidden ghost towns that I like to visit now and then. And also a waterfall (Niagra Falls of all things) in the middle of nowhere. Joe's is a great lunch or dinner spot as you leave timber country. It was my b'day and I planned a boring faux celebration in Newport to pig out on seafood and craft beer. I needed to start the trip with an outstanding b'fast and Joe's came immediately to mind. Food is always great here. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Their baked goods, made on site are out of this world. The waitress was one of those old school professionals. Worked the whole place, by herself. Maybe a dozen or more patrons there and she kept everyone well taken care of. If you order coffee (who doesn't?) they give you an entire pot. The biscuits are to die for. Picked up a few pastries to go for the cooler It's been a long time since I'd been there but the waitress gave me the Veteran's discount without me saying a word which is always appreciated. Not our first time eating here. We had a club sandwich; which was just so so; however the loaded potatoe soup was very tasty! Service was excellent. Menu pricing was a little on the high side. They had very large cookies (the size of a dessert plate for only $2) I didn't purchase one but they looked delicious. Restaurant appeared clean. We absolutely loved their breakfast!! Friendly staff! I had the pancakes with sausage links, which the links were the best I had ever had. My husband had the biscuit and gravy which he loved as well. You can tell the biscuits were homemade. Loved all the historic art and decor they had of their town. If you are staying at Spirit Mountain or passing through, definitely stop by and support small communities. We will definitely stop by again on our way to the beach! read more

Well for our first visit to a restaurant in three months, we ended up here kind of in the middle of no where, which is just perfect! A great town to stop into as everyone was friendly, like really happy to see people again... Coyote Joe's had great spaced out seating, sanitizer everywhere, and they were busy with to go orders... we felt very safe. This was not a GF or vegan kind of place, if you're on a special diet maybe not your kind of place either. Since I had been so tired of cooking, I went with a gut bomb and tots... The Location: A little Twin Peaks but but very nice, kept looking for the log lady. The Menu: how do you pull that off, huge menu. The Food: About what you would expect, great simple cooking. The Staff: Sooooo NICE! everyone was working their tails off. We will return, hope this place never changes, I know they have a lot of stories to tell. read more

No complaints, our server was very friendly and the atmosphere was comforting. I ordered Just Pancakes off of their menu for breakfast and the two pancakes included are massive and they come with lots of butter and syrup! We went here because we wanted breakfast at noon. Coffee was not good. The food was worse. Their homemade sausage was burnt, eggs were ok, biscuit was so so. The restaurant smelled of grease and was not in good condition. Waitress was very attentive and good at her job, which is the only praise I can give this place. Visited last May and my breakfast was pretty bad. My eating companions meals were just fine. I ordered the homemade sausage which smelled bad enough that I questioned the waitress about its age. I tried a few small bites but no way was it cooked or maybe even fresh. Just returned with my mother because I've had excellent meals several other times. This time the beef in my mothers sandwich was Pepto Bismal pink and riddled with cold hard fat. Strangest looking meat I've seen since my sausage incident. It really didn't even look like real meat. The waitress was kind enough to remove it from our ticket but it should never have been served. I'm sure we'll return but I know what to avoid now and most of their breakfasts are great. read more

Cozy, welcoming restaurant with good menu selections and hearty portions. Unfortunately, I have to rate them low due to their public health practices. The gentleman who took our order (and brought out our food) wasn't wearing a mask. He had a single layer gator that wasn't pulled up, and even when he did raise it, it would fall back down or he'd take it off in a few moments. Additionally, a cook came out of the kitchen, and she was also not wearing a mask. Anyone working inside needs to have at least a double layered mask that covers their mouth and nose, at all times. Otherwise, they're potentially just filling the air with virus particles that stay floating around for hours. We called this morning to discuss this, but the lady who picked up the phone and requested our order was obviously sick - coughing, sniffling, with a congested voice. What a great pit stop coming home from Newport! I was starving and needed some down home cooking. We walk in and see pie! Gorgeous pie case...omg yum. Menu: breakfast all-day with all of the things!!! Oh sweet eggs, bacon, hash browns... English muffins.... everything was cooked like my mom was in the kitchen! Centralized between the Oregon Coast and Portland, Coyote Joe's has one heck of a breakfast menu. We've traveled over 35,000 miles in 3 years; between all the breakfast joints we tried, by far, this place has the best country fried steak. First I have to say that this place has excellent service! Very friendly wait staff and very attentive. The food was decent, pretty average diner/standard breakfast food. They made me a custom omelet that was pretty good! Very comfortable place to eat and the people there are great! One of waiters had heard that we had planned on taking a trip, so he brought my son a cookie (free) for the drive. It was very sweet and kindhearted. read more

The Liver and Onions (claims to be a popular signature dish) was so over cooked it was like jerky. (NOTE: On our first trip here the liver was so raw it was bloodying up the mashed taters, so I made sure to ask them to cook it thoroughly, which I guess they took it as cook til dehydrated). The Prime Rib had no flavor (no salt and pepper crust) The Fish and chips were not beer battered but flour battered and way over cooked. The Reuben sandwich was one slice of sandwich thin corned beef and a tablespoon of sourkraut with hardly any thousand island. This place needs to SERIOUSLY consider closing down permanently OR get a new chef... which they probably couldn't afford a decent one anyways. read more
