I went for the Tillamook cheddar and ham omelette with a homemade biscuit and hash browns, while my soulmate had Eggs Benedict that was phenomenal even on English muffins, though I couldn't help imagining how legendary it would be served on their incredible homemade biscuits. The mixed greens that came with it were fresh, high-quality, and lightly dressed with olive oil and lemon, no bottled dressing shortcut here. I swapped toast for one of those biscuits and had to try the gravy. It was smooth, perfectly seasoned, and avoided that heavy, lumpy texture so many places serve. Out of curiosity, we ordered a pancake, and I'm glad we did. It was fluffy, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch, served with Tillamook butter. Everything tasted fresh, cooked in a butter-oil blend without the seed or vegetable oils that ruin flavor elsewhere. My only regret was skipping the seafood omelettes (shrimp or oysters), but with a four-hour drive ahead, I decided to save that for next time. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to upgrade the coffee, which was just okay compared to the food. Service from Sarah was outstanding, prompt, friendly, and exactly what you want in a place like this. The vibe was pure coastal Oregon: locals chatting, a cozy, no-frills dining room connected to a market, and a mission to feed you well so you can get on with your day. It's not something you'd find in Manhattan, and that's part of its charm. Five stars without hesitation. Authentic good ole fashioned recipes, served in the traditional more than you could possibly eat style, made with Love by third generation women, (who are training the fourth generation already.) It's small, off the hwy venue, is the unspoken RULE: eat and free the seat for the next person when they are busy. If things a slow paced one can hang out and hear the local tea. They have also opened a food truck on the food quart down town Tillamook and it is a satillite station of all grandmas famous recipes. I had an experience recently when I went too early to the food court the only truck open was Downie's and the breakfast burrito is the best one I've ever had and again in the food ole American more than you could possibly eat portions. So you get two or three meals out of one. The best bang for your buck. Not to mention they won my customer loyalty that morning . Read about the cinnamon roll online (on yelp?) so had to stop by to try it out. Let's just say, they didn't disappoint! Arrived on a weekday morning and it was packed. We got a couple to split amongst the family. They came out warm and we drove over to the nearby park to enjoy them at a picnic table. YUM! They were so gooey and had a great flavor. I believe they were $10, so not cheap, but easily worth it. We'll definitely be back again. read more

Food was pretty good, we ate our whole meal and felt satisfied. Only drawback is that we heard the waitress try to charge an extra meal to another party. They did order biscuits & gravy, but never received it and she kept it on their ticket, so they had to bring it to her attention. She then proceeded to freak out when she didn't know how to operate the hand held credit card reader... luckily by the time we wanted to check out, the problem was resolved. Small cafe with 3 lovely gals working it. There are 6 tables and a small counter. We walked in about 8a and sat at the last table. We were greeted right away and got our tea and coffee. We ordered shortly after. We had the veggie omelet and eggs, bacon and French toast. The hash browns were crispy and my veges were sautéed before adding to the omelet. It was fresh and delish. The tables turned regularly just as new patrons entered. It all worked like clock work. Only 6 minutes north of Tillamook. Highly recommend. read more

I can only comment on the freshly baked GIGANTIC cinnamon rolls as that was the only item I had when I stopped there. It was excellent. Baked to perfection and frosted with butter on the side. Cute little breakfast and lunch place a block off hwy 101 in Bay City (North of Tillamook and South of Garibaldi). I had their special: apple cinnamon French toast (Yumm!) with 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. Excellent breakfast! My husband enjoyed his biscuit with gravy and eggs. Hash browns were pretty good but wish they were a bit more crispy. Only three tables available so be mindful when going in! Staff was friendly and great! Food was delicious! First time in. We stopped and got cash as it's cash only. Tiny little place, easy to find and we had to wait for 20 minutes in our car but no worries. Sadly at 1030 am cinnamon rolls were sold out so call early and get one saved for when you come in to eat. Service was super friendly, amazing service and food was good. Someone recommended this place. It was a really bad choice. Ordered a $17 tuna melt but just got a lettuce and tomato sandwich. No cheese for the melt and MAYBE a tablespoon of tuna. Had to really look for the tuna. Very noisy and some staff were rude and others seemed like they didn't want to be there. The potato salad had been left sitting out and it was warmer than I thought it should have been. I live in a tourist town but the prices are not as high as this place. I realize that coffee at $4 is not bad, but $5 for iced tea seems a little high. I gave it a 2 because it was clean. Have to climb stairs to get to the bathroom. Not a place we'll go again. I can spend my $50 locally. read more
