I was able to post the picture! The eggs on the bottom were served first and the ones on the top were the replacement. Absolutely disgusting

I didn't even want to put 1 star on this. Absolutely the most disgusting food I've ever been served. Burnt eggs. Cold very thinly sliced ham and cold toast. The ham and cheese omelette with the ham on the side? The cook has more piercings than culinary skills. He needs fired for what he sends out of that kitchen. So disgusting. I wish I could post the pictures.

Onion barely cooked

Service was miserable 2 other tables came in and were served before us, Server was very defensive and seemed frustrated over simple things. Food was cold and undercooked, soggy salad and greasy philly, clam chowder was runny, had to wait an hour for just 1 simple order of onion rings, hair found in fries, super dry meat and very undercooked onion. Tables left unclean for hours, people stuck waiting for tables that aren't clean.

uncooked raw onion

Not sure how this place is still in business. Save your money and go else where. Server/Host not very pleasant.

Usually I am hesitant of fried food platters because of the greasiness but this was not greasy at all, just nice and crispy.

They updated a few things, moved the office towards the front, and it just seems to be running really well (do I dare say better?). Everything else is great! We rented a boat and went crabbing. Only got 3 crabs this time, but it was still fun. It's just the idea of being out there that makes it so fun! We went on a rainy day so could not enjoy the view from our site since we had to stay inside the trailer. It's okay, it was still a great visit. I look forward to going again! Ha! I have to laugh, you know when you are tying reviews, you can see others to the right. I see that one of my friends wrote a review and pretty much wrote the same as I did in the 1st paragraph. That's funny. July 2025

Reasonable prices and sufficient service for the freshest crabs!!!!! Not a lot of shade and cover spaces so come prepared for the weather. I wouldn't recommend it during winter raining season. They have small campground onsite though it more to accommodate people renting or taking their own boat out to the bay for crabbing, not designed for leisure camping experience due to its location. It offers its own gift shop, and restroom. Limited condiments on tables. I came prepared with my own lemon/lime and knife.

On our first visit, we had the fish tacos and elk burger sliders, and both were delicious. On our second visit, we tried the clam chowder. After tasting chowder all along the Oregon Coast, Sand Dollar's was our favorite. It wasn't overly thick, the subtle hint of bacon added great flavor, and it was served piping hot. My husband said the clam chowder was superb. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Rockaway Beach. And you can't beat the view!

You can't beat the view with this place right on the beach. Plus, it happened to be a beautiful day. When we walked in it felt very comfortable and more modern than I was expecting but had a comfortable ambiance. The service here was great. We were greeted right away. Our waitress was fantastic as well. I went with the Rockfish Sandwich which came with 2 pieces of rockfish, tartar sauce, creamy slaw, lettuce, and onion. I went with no tomatoes. Honestly, this tasted great. The fish was fried perfectly, not greasy at all. The fish appeared fresh as well. This came with battered fries. My youngest daughter had the grilled cheese, which she easily took down. No complaints. The menu may have changed, but we had some prawns in a chili sauce that tasted great, and my wife and other daughter had a salad with shrimp. This tasted great as well. The shrimp had a nice flavor and were not over cooked. It was the perfect addition to the salad. It was a little more on the pricier side, but everything is getting more expensive now days. Overall, we had a great experience. We had a great view, everyone working there was friendly, and our meal tasted great. The Sand Dollar is certainly worth a try.

It screamed Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve, or Kellerman Resort (Dirty Dancing) with the wood paneling, historic photos and memorabilia on the walls. The booths/tables are large and spacious. The view is Pacific Northwest perfection. We spent a large chunk of our breakfast watching boats, people fishing, and crabbing. It did take a moment to be acknowledged or seated, but it is worth the wait. I think they only had one very sweet host, and she was also taking orders, and running food. I ordered the coconut french toast (half order), and a side of the crispiest bacon. I also order crispy bacon, but rarely does a location truly get it right. There tends to be floppy flaccid parts, and flaccid is never a preference, especially when it comes to crispy bacon. This bacon was crisped to perfection. The french toast was very good, but quite sweet. I couldn't have handled more than a half order. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, with a side of biscuits and gravy. He annihilated his. We appreciated all that Pirate's Cove had to offer, and will return should we find ourselves in the Rockaway/Garibalidi area.
