The service was bland. When you order ribs, you should not have to ask for extra napkins or wait another 10 minutes to receive them. Now the ribs. Absolutely the worst ribs my wife and I have ever been served. If you like 75% fat then they are for you. They were beyond pathetic. As a final not one would expect wet wipes on a water bowl when you are served ribs. Yup they did not disappoint again, no wipes. read more

The inside is super cozy and clean. Love how their location is right in the middle of the port. Really added to the ambience. Staffs were quick and efficient as well. Looking for a dinner spot, this place was near the marina! Beautiful view in the town of Garabaldi :) Menu was quite the variety. From appetizers and drinks, to sandwiches and entrees, and even seafood. Their seafood chowder is unique. It was creamy and had little shrimps, scallops, clams and corn. I got the blueberry goat cheese burger. It was pretty different since I love blueberries and goat cheese! The burger was topped high -- it was hard to eat and was messy. I had to cut in half. However, it was a good burger. There was an avocado spread, bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese. Even my bf's turkey sandwich was topped high and he loved it! Presentation is nice here -- the sweet potato waffle fries were so good. Truly bland food--amazingly so. My mango-habanero burger had no heat at all, which is quite an accomplishment if they actually had habaneros in there. It didn't have mango flavor either--pretty much the only flavor was thousand island dressing. I paid a $5 upcharge to get onion rings instead of french fries, and got a total of four small onion rings which is a total rip-off. My wife's vegetable quesedilla was similarly flavorless and the tortilla was gummy. Her comment was largely disbelief: "A four-year-old can make a quesedilla. How can they not?" read more

We stopped by Garibaldi Portside Bistro for an early dinner on a Saturday night. They were decently busy with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. We were lucky and got to sit by the beautiful indoor fireplace! I had the Alfredo. The flavor was good, but the noodles were very overcooked. I loved the cheesy garlic bread! The side salad was a great bonus to the meal. My husband had the half rack of ribs. They were a bit fatty for our taste. He ordered the "waffle cut" fries and the waitress brought out waffle cut sweet potato fries. The menu did not state that their waffle fries were sweet potato. The menu made it seem like they had regular waffle and sweet potato separate items and priced differently. We mentioned that to the waitress and she hesitated and made the switch. She took the plate back and immediately came back with fries and they were obviously not fresh and barely warm (the same quality as the sweet potato). Despite not ordering the sweet potato option we were charged an extra $4 for the fries we did not eat. We will be back to give them another chance as the atmosphere was great! read more

We tried Garibaldi while in town for a trip! It was a cute bistro with plenty of seating and WONDERFUL staff! Our waitress was so nice and helpful. We were late for our reservation but they still accommodated us! The food prices were a bit high for the type of food quality/quantity. Our group was hungry after a long morning of adventuring and GPB was the perfect pit stop. The location is unmatched, the service is very friendly, and the food was delicious. It was 8 on a Friday night and we were hoping for Prime Rib, so we asked our server and she checked and said yes. So we ordered and she let us know the kitchen was backed up so it would be a while, so we ordered appetizers. Then she came back to apologize as they had run out of prime rib. You know how that is, when you are prepared for one thing and then nothing else sounds good. I ordered the French Dip and salad, but my husband just opted for the clam chowder, which was served with garlic toast. The garlic cheese curds were good, but that's a huge serving! I loved the bread, meat and cheese of the French Dip, but I didn't realize there was a light horseradish sauce on it, which Im not a fan of. We got a basque cheesecake to go. Nice place off the beaten path. We were actually looking for something that offered a variety of seafood. We thought since this is by the crab and fishing boats, it has to offer seafood options. No they don't, however our visit was pleasant. Our waitress was so personable and polite. We ordered a Pelican Stout, Tots with Brisket, and a bowl of Chowder all were delicious. One of our favorite places for lunch along the coast. They have a cozy dog friendly deck that's separated into two sections and does have some wind barriers. It's also not as windy as most of the coastal towns since it's inland on a bay along the docks. Inside has spacious seating. We visited this time in March so wasn't busy at all. They brought a dog bowl for our pup to have water. I wanted something light and healthier so I chose the ahi poke bowl which was really refreshing choice. A person can only do so many fish and chips and needing some veggies. My husband ordered the brisket tots which he's addicted to. I sat for a few minutes while she sliced limes before she acknowledged me, only 2 other people at the bar, in which she carried on a conversation with the whole time I was standing there. I received my food that was amazing. If you like good service, kind and respectful staff and burgers that aren't served rare when you asked for well done AVOID this place. We sought out this restaurant because it had outdoor seating and allowed dogs. But we won't be back despite discussing several items on the menu we wanted to try next. We tried the Chicken Caesar Salad, Deluxe Brisket Sandwich, Teriyaki bowl, and the Blueberry Goat Cheese Burger. I read an earlier scathing review that indicated the burger wasn't good but all the other reviews raved about it. When I was seated I noticed the table next to me had a very rare burger. When I ordered I specifically asked for it to be well done. Food was brought out. I cut my burger in half and started on the smaller half. It was more pink than I would like but decided not to make a fuss. My husband sliced off a bite of the 2nd half. I went to eat the second half and noticed that the burger that was left was pink almost to the edges. Definitely undercooked and certainly not the well done I requested. No one came to check on us (we were seated outside) and apparently they don't have a server to cover this area. When the waitress came out to see if we were done and ready for our check, we showed her the uneaten burger. They took my food to insect it (including my uneaten side I would have taken home). Ultimately her and her manager offered 15% off because I'd "eaten 3/4" of it. This is completely false. Manager came out and argued with us about what actually happened and what we wanted done about. When I suggested that 25 or 30% based on their inaccurate assessment of what I'd eaten would at least be more respectful, he told me he couldn't do that. I told him that was unreasonable and he just kept telling me repeatedly "I'm sorry you feel that way." Over and over again. He never would have spoken to or treated a male customer this way and it's infuriating. Do not give them your business and trust the negative reviews as they are honest and accurate. read more

Disappointed the pork belly options weren't on the menu. With competition moving into Rockaway the smoking has to get featured more. We had the brisket tots and the reuben. Tots very salty and cheese sauce was hard by the time it got to the table. Brisket good and overall tasted very good except for salt. Reuben excellent except for meat stuck in a wad in the middle of the bread so my wife had to open it up and spread things out. The fries were very good. First, location is great. Easy to park, beautiful scene of the boats on the water, love it. Front door is awkwardly placed and a bit difficult to access if you coming from the back parking lot but we managed. Staff was friendly, they seated us immediately. Loved that they quickly caught on that we were having a date night and quickly readjusted to seat us at the table by the fireplace. Lovely! Service, pretty good. Fairly attentive. It was getting late and closer to close, so I get they were a bit distracted. Food, ohmygoodness. It was so dang good! The Blueberry Burger is WORTH IT! Don't ask questions, do not make adjustments or special requests... just order it as it is presented on the menu - IT WAS DELISH! We did the Popcorn Shrimp as well... quite good. Still wish they would have let us do a 1/2 Shrimp / 1/2 Clam platter but oh well. Price was on point. Food was served hot. Everything was a 5-star experience except one thing... ...the bar. Frustrating. Dinner for us is good drinks, good food, good company. The last two, nailed it. Drinks, not so much. I ordered a gin martini... the very small glass arrived barely 1/2 full. The second one I ordered a double... which I was charged for... and received the exact same thing. Frustrating, as this was a 5-star experience including food... and I was very specific when ordering drinks. Highly recommended. This place is absolutely a hidden gem. They had a 30 top in at a busy lunch rush and the owner jumped in to serve our table. The food is incredible and it was hard to pick. But the garlic cheese curds and pork tots were delicious. The burgers and sandwiches are huge. The BBQ sauce on the pork sandwich was one of the best I've had. Daughter got the fried shrimp and I got the shrimp Louie. I was a little disappointed to see it was made with bay shrimp but the dressing was delicious. Service was good.
