WOW! What a hidden gem located in Bay City, Oregon. My husband and I were craving a sit down fresh meal and we found Bay City Kitchen on Yelp. We were lucky enough to come on a Sunday and be able to order their pre fix Sunday dinner three course dinner. My husband had the beef brisket and I had the veggie lasagna. At $35 per plate and locally sourced ingredients this meal is a STEAL! The salad was fresh and lite, dinner was flavorful and large portions, and the peach Melba ended the meal on such a sweet note! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating you may be at a large table with another party. You pay upfront and service yourself with water and table wear. I would recommend making reservations in advance for the Sunday dinner as I did hear them turn down some parties.

Thanks Yelp for introducing me to this spot. Was passing the area and decided to stop by for lunch. It's a small operation of 2, so the service is personal (albeit a little slow during lunch rush). But the food is definitely worth the wait! I got the meatball sub and the flavors were on point, the bread was toasted so it's crunchy yet soft inside. Definitely would order this again! My friend got the kimchi fried rice and she thought it was pretty good, although we saw a lot of locals ordering the gnudi. Getting that next time! Glad there's this level of quality food in a small town - will be stopping by here whenever we're in the area!

Found this place on Yelp & so glad we did! Delicious food at affordable prices-- I had crab fried rice & an increases of marinated radishes, fennel, micro greens, smoked salmon & nuts & seeds. Vegan & absolutely delicious & fresh. My friend had coho salmon over the fried rice & found it flavorful & delicious. I got a chocolate crinkled cookie that I saved for today & it too was super yummy. Casual atmosphere--order at the counter, but then they bring you the food. Lots of outdoor seating options & a sweet, small, inside dining area. Do yourself a favor & stop by for a tasty dinner!

This is a hidden fine dining spot, a bit unusual for the Oregon coast. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of food. Amazingly priced and a wonderful use of ingredients together that I wouldn't normally think of. Highly recommend, especially the Sunday three-course dinner! My only suggestion is the apricot almond tort was very dry - either change recipe or it was old/sitting out and dried out :(

What a delightful find. They provide both indoor and outdoor seating. The ingredients are largely local. Today, the Hubbs and I shared several dishes. We started with a cup of the salmon chowder - made with a yummy fish stock base. We would have been perfectly happy with a bowl of this and some bread. The Caesar salad was made with local greens and had hazelnuts and pickled red onion. We also shared the brat platter with fresh-made sauerkraut and German potatoes. Then we shared the lasagna. It was filled with meat and veggies and a fabulous marinara sauce. I wish we could have tried the desserts! They looked yummy. Definitely added this place to my favorites in the area. Service was the best and we loved the decor featuring local artists, bottles of wine and cookbooks.

Amazing! Everything here was fabulous: delicious clean food, peaceful ambiance, excellent staff. I was happy to find a gluten free vegan dessert (Panna Cotta) and they made my order of crab fried rice gluten free. This is not a designated gluten free restaurant, but they did an excellent job of customizing my order to meet my dietary restrictions. My friend loved her Gnudle pasta and said the Chocolate Moelleux was "worth every calorie."the a

My friends and I stopped here on a Monday afternoon around 3pm because it was close to our Airbnb and we LOVED IT! There is ample seating inside the restaurant. The atmosphere is peaceful and the food is delish! I had the Dungeness crab fried rice with a side of kimchi + the soup of the day (smoked fish & razor clam chowder) - and would 12/10 recommend both! very quick and attentive service.

From the grab and go freezer

This place is absolutely precious! I have driven by several times since they opened last summer (July? 2023) and decided to stop in on my way out of town - I am not sorry!! I ordered the house made ricotta dumplings (fantastic) and grabbed a container of "Feel Good Broth" from the grab and go freezer (have not tried yet, but it is going to be a real treat, I'm sure). There is a rotating menu so check the website before you go. The pastry case is beautiful and if they have the brown sugar shortbread cookies, GET THEM. I made the mistake of asking for a bag instead of a plate and it was a bag wasted - they did not make it out the door. Customer service is top notch too. You can't go wrong.

Menu for Sunday supper

My mouth and mind were blown yet again with the amazing farm and sea to table Sunday supper. Two choices tonight for main course (pork or tuna). I chose the albacore tuna and I now know I can never eat again as this was perfection and I'll always compare every meal to this. The meal started with a salad that tickled my taste buds with delicious and fresh ingredients, then the main course that made me cry- it was THAT perfect, and ended with a lovely peach buckle that is like no other-total perfection. Make a reservation for Sunday supper-you'll thank me forever.

We love this cozy kitchen, especially the Sunday Dinners! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, the selection of dishes are always mouthwatering, with delicious desserts, and a wide selection of drinks to pair with your meal! A must see and visit while traveling north of Tillamook OR

Why do I seem to locate the most delicious foods in Oregon?…read more Not only did everything taste delicious and fresh cooked perfectly but across the street is the cutest grocery store that sells organic delicious food, drinks, and snack. But we will review them later *=* Back to the restaurant. Service was nice, for point price of food here, it would have been great if the server had asked if we wanted a refill on any of our drinks or if we needed anything else besides cleaning up our plates every chance they got when we were all still eating but resting between bites. I could loudly overheard the bartender and our server make a comment about my drink order. One other thing that was strange for us was how long it took someone to come over to get a drink order, while we looked over the menu. There were two servers and only two tables being occupied in the entire restaurant when we arrived since they had just opened. Towards the end of our dinner, the restaurant front manager came out. His name is Justin. Very nice person, asked how are meals and of everything was satisfactory for us. Now I could have mentioned the small little weird things but what mattered to me the most was spending time with my family. So maybe I might return or maybe not. Either way the restaurant itself was great! Food excellent but voicing your opinions regarding how people want their drinks or food when it is coming out of their own wallet should not be a topic for open discussion when the ordering person can hear the whole conversation. Justin please speak with your staff regarding timing. What is an appropriate length of time to allow guests to sit at a table. After watching two out of three servers walk past us so often I looked over at my spouse and wondered if we should find a different restaurant. So many layers, but thank you reader for sticking it out with me. Not sure why the little hiccup's happened but either way for a $217 bill and $30 tip service should have been better. This is just my own personal experience and opinion. Please check them out for yourself because everything we ate and drank was delicious. Mainly the front house issues. I too also use to be a server so I come from a different culture when dining.

There's plenty of tables and a long bar with ample seats. The service has been mostly good. The wine list is ample and the cocktail selection is massive. I haven't had a bad drink here. This most recent time, I ordered the 45 minute paella. I don't mind waiting with a glass of wine or cocktail for something that's a treat like paella. Sadly, when it came out it was disappointing. The seafood was cooked well but a little underseasoned. The rice was very bland. I'd chalk it up to someone having a bad night, but this is the second time I ordered the paella and was disappointed. Sad to say, there are enough better restaurants in Mac that I don't think I'll rush back here on my next trip to the area.

I don't even know where to start. Seriously. I enjoy writing a lovely 5-star review but this one…read moredeserves 500/5 stars! Seriously, one of my favorite restaurant experiences in YEARS! Yesterday took us to McMinnville for the Wonderland Brew Fest... after the festival, we decided to do a progressive dinner. Stop at every interesting restaurant on / near 3rd Street and eat until we were satisfied... Thistle threw a big ole wrench in our plans, and we are DELIHTED they did! After a not so great first restaurant experience, we happened upon Thistle at the recommendation of a friend. We decided to stop in for an appetizer and a drink. We were immediately greeted by a lovely man named Patrick who was so friendly and accommodated us at a lovely table in the center dining room. Round #1 of drinks was ordered with the Gnocchi and Duck Liver Mousse. Good. LORDT. We were smitten at sip and bite #1. After the first round, we settled into having a second round before heading out... next thing you know, a Pork Confit hit our table. OUT OF THIS WORLD. The talent of this chef is beyond words. Our planned 45 minute stop turned into a whole evening. The drinks were absolutely out of this world. The food was ridiculously good. Truly, the absolute best restaurant in all of McMinnville. To the chef, John Thomas IV and the owner, Patrick, THANK YOU! You truly too an average Saturday evening into one of our favorite trips to McMinnville of all times. We raved and sang the praises of our experience to all our friends this morning at brunch. Our one evening alone will guarantee our return many many times in the future. If you're from McMinnville and haven't tried Thistle yet, do it! If you're visiting, stop searching for your dinner destination and call for your reservation now. Absolutely our best McMinnville dinner, ever!

As foodies we'd found the food in the area to be a bit underwhelming, but that changed the moment we stepped into Thistle. We ended up ordering almost everything on the menu because each dish sounded simply irresistible. Sadly, no photos to add with this review because we were so caught up in the moment enjoying ourselves and our meal that we forgot our phones existed. My husband and I keep a log of our top 10 restaurants across the world, and Thistle absolutely earned a spot on that list. Compliments to the owner, chef and team for an exceptional experience!

The stark difference in our second experience was night and day, making this visit truly exceptional. The cozy and romantic aesthetic of the restaurant remains fantastic, and the food and drink menu is still absolutely amazing. This time, however, we had the pleasure of being seated downstairs in Tiffany's section, and she was beyond stellar. Tiffany is the definition of exceptional service. She gave us a complete, helpful rundown of how they structure their tapas menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. We had a great time chatting with her and her professionalism and warmth instantly made our return worthwhile. Her suggestions were perfect--she expertly helped us select a great wine and recommended the black ink pasta, which was a showstopper.
