Based off our experience. We waited about 40 ish minutes. They quoted it at 30 minutes. We have gotten pizza here for take out. The deep dish isn't for us. It's too much bread. The other pizza was ok. So, this time we dined in and tried the salmon. That was delicious. We didn't care for the sides it came with, but salmon was very good. We also had the pork schnitzel. Didn't know what that was. It was like a breaded cutlet, basically. Not bad, but not amazing either. They were very busy for winter break. Food was great especially the 3 mushroom varietal pizza with light white sauce. I also liked the chicken wing appetizer. They had a nice flavor with an unusual spice mix that was spicy and hot but I love that! Service was good especially considering it was the end of the rush hour before close and the view, well that view is a postcard of the Nehalem Bay and the wetlands. The newly reopened SB functions just like any other restaurant now, table service with servers and all that. Still no reservations so be ready for that. We showed up at 530 on a Friday and sat out front which was glorious. Started with the quinoa kale salad which SHOWED UP, even my vegetable hating 7yo had seconds. Shishito peppers were literally fire and I'm still eating leftovers as the portion was crazy big. One of each of the pizzas, thin and thick and my favorite was the SHROOMS pizza, fresh and just so tasty. We had headed to Garibaldi to see my parents for the holiday weekend and after seeing The Salmonberry on Instagram I wanted to try it we arrived at 4:30 just after they opened and they were already packed. We were able to get a table in the bar by the window with a gorgeous view of the bay. We were a party of 4 and we ordered the Brussel sprouts and two pizzas. The Smith and the BBQ. We received our brussel Sprouts which was a good serving for 4 people and most of them were hard and not cooked enough. We didn't say anything about them and but shortly after we received the first order they brought us another order of them on the house. The second order was much better cooked. We waited two hours for our pizzas. The staff felt horrible about the backup as apparently the wood fired oven can only cook 2 to 3 pizzas at a time and they definitely weren't prepared for a busy holiday weekend. They definitely have some kinks to work out. We received our pizzas and I was disappointed, they did have good flavor but the crust was really thin in the middle (I actually love thin crust NY style pizza) and for $27 each for a 12" pizza that was minimal toppings on them. I think they have the ability to be a great place to go when you're on the coast but I sadly don't see them drawing in the locals on a regular basis as these prices. The manager/owner did feel really bad about our wait and took one of the pizzas off our bill which was a nice gesture. I was so excited to try them but I don't think we will go back. read more

If you are staying in Manzanita or nearby you have to come here for dinner. We ordered oysters on the half shell, the ranch salad ( phenomenal ) and the chinook collars that came with fries. The food here is truly amazingly good. Very understated building and easy to underestimate since it's basically a pizza place. But not just any pizza. All of the appetizers were delicious, the meatballs were some of the best I've ever had, delicious roasted Brussels and the BBQ pork belly pizza and either one of the Detroit style pizzas are fantastic. Showed up right when they opened. Got great service and our waiter was delightful. Super nice guy had a good conversation with him and got great service from multiple people. They got us a dog bowl for water as we were sitting out on the patio. The food was great! Really good presentation as well as good flavors. Amazing little place in the tiny town of Wheeler. I'm not sure what's better, the food or the view? Let's not forget the cocktails. It's a casual place, order at the counter and they will give you a number. Then you grab your utensils and water etc. They will find you and bring out your food/ drinks. Service was super friendly. Everything we tried was amazing. We had some oysters (delish) , meatball appetizer, the mushroom pizza, meatball pizza and a pasta that had shrimp. We also indulged in a few cocktails which were also very well made. Prices were not inexpensive but warranted for the quality of food & also the portions were not small. Such a treasure for the coast! Living & working on the Oregon coast our elevated dining experiences are limited. Farm to table beautiful food with an incredible view of the Nehalem is top tier. Running a business on the coast myself, I completely understand & am used to short staffed situations. The sides always come quickly, so I never mind waiting a little longer for the pizza. We had the GF pizza because everyone was ordering the Detroit style and they ran out; but honestly, what's the difference? The Salmonberry is an amazing (hyper local) restaurant and experience, we can't wait to come back. The fresh pasta's texture was phenomenal and the clams were garlicky and rich. The meatballs were rich/cheesy, with a little acid from the tomato sauce and had a side of polenta. The arancini were perfectly crispy on the outside and cheesy/mushroomy on the inside. The location is nice but service is terrible. If you have a group of 4 or more do not expect your food to come out in any timely manner. We waited literally an hour and a half for a pizza (single personal, $27) that was ordered at the same time as everyone else's dinner. Mind you, this is counting the time from when the first dishes were dropped from same order. After an hour we had to flag down our waiter and ask him not to bother bringing it as we were already packing to-go boxes-being that our dinner was finished. The waiter was extremely rude, male don't remember his name, and said if we placed an order we couldn't take it back and had to pay for it. We argued saying how we can we pay for something that isn't here. The waiter walked off. We asked to speak to the gm but no one ever came. He packed the pizza we never ate in a to-go box and dropped off our check (with the pizza still charged). Do yourself a favor and skip the headache of this place. read more

Fresh pasta. Salmonberry is an order-at-the-counter-then-sit-yourself restaurant that has limited days and hours in winter. We went Sunday and they were out of stock on several dishes as they make all they can with the ingredients and sell until they run out each weekend. So go earlier on the weekend to have the full breadth Despite a slightly limited menu, we were thrilled with the food quality, especially a home-made pesto with fresh pasta. Wonderful. The pizza was wine-bar style and great and our red sauce pasta was good too, and the top pick for our kids. Beer comes in cans, but they have a full bar and did a great mock-tail for my spouse who wasn't feeling alcohol. I can't wait to come back next time we are on the coast. read more

Zero stars. Do not come here. We spent the entire day hiking in the chilly, wet weather. We were looking forward to a warm meal in a cozy spot to end the night. When we arrived it was busy and you could tell they were a bit stressed. I overheard someone say they were understaffed possibly. They let us know the wait would be 40 minutes and we were okay with that. There were some it two benches for guests who were waiting to use to sit. There were a substantial amount of people who were standing up waiting, including us. If you've hiked all day and are looking forward to sitting, maybe choose something else. We waited and I believe it was about 40 minutes. We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday night and were seated around 7:15. Once we were seated it took about 15 minutes for someone to come over and offer us a drink and take our order. We originally wanted a beet salad, meatballs and a Chicago pepperoni pizza. The waitress came back and said they were out of all 3 of those things. We ended up settling with arancini, Brussels and a margarita pizza and then we waited. We waited and waited and then waited some more. The arancini came out around 8, 45 minutes after we sat down. We got nothing else. We stopped the waitress around 8:20 and asked when the rest of our order would be out. She went to check and said it would be another 15 minutes. We didn't want to wait anymore and didn't even know if that would actually happen so we asked for the check, paid and left at 8:30. We spent almost 2 hours here and all we got was arancini. 40 minutes of waiting for a table - no biggie - but an hour of waiting for our food? We got no apology, nothing was offered. And a man who looked like the chef was walking around after 8 and went to the table behind us to ask if everything was good. He told them he had one more beet salad left and it was theirs. Our waitress had told us they were all sold out 30 minutes before that. I don't know what is going on with this place but don't ruin your night by coming here. Now we're driving an hour and 45 minutes to our hotel in Portland and we haven't had dinner at 8:30 at night. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else. I understand sometimes there are staffing issues, however, the customer service wasn't what it should be. If you don't have staff, at least tell people how long they'll be waiting for their dinner. read more

Glad they are open again so I can enjoy the pizza and the ambiance. I'm from NY and their pizza, oven fired is the best! Crispy on the edges and perfectly seasoned, The big test, you eat it folded in half and it doesn't collapse. The salads are fresh and plentiful as well as the entire staff. I always bring my company here, too. In addition to the food the view is marvelous. Salmonberry is a treat for the stomach and the eyes. Weather permitting, eat outside.
