What a lovely and delicious dinner we had! I will be dreaming of our bubbly crust pizza, lemony light possets, and brilliant view for a long time. If I lived here, I'd put this place on my weekly rotation. Even my 7 year old loved everything - including the salad, which was surprising. A no brainer. Just go!

I was so excited to finally try the Salmonberry. The Caesar salad was probably the best one we've ever had. Perfectly dressed and so tasty. The carrots were a bit undercooked but had good potential. I loved the broth they used for the steamer clams but almost half of the order didn't open and one was full of sand, I was so disappointed. We had excellent cocktails and excellent service!

The newly reopened SB functions just like any other restaurant now, table service with servers and all that. Still no reservations so be ready for that. We showed up at 530 on a Friday and sat out front which was glorious. Started with the quinoa kale salad which SHOWED UP, even my vegetable hating 7yo had seconds. Shishito peppers were literally fire and I'm still eating leftovers as the portion was crazy big. One of each of the pizzas, thin and thick and my favorite was the SHROOMS pizza, fresh and just so tasty. Admittedly I do miss the old order at the front, seat yourself, get your own water vibes but I'm betting I'm probably in the minority on these feels.

We had headed to Garibaldi to see my parents for the holiday weekend and after seeing The Salmonberry on Instagram I wanted to try it we arrived at 4:30 just after they opened and they were already packed. We were able to get a table in the bar by the window with a gorgeous view of the bay. We were a party of 4 and we ordered the Brussel sprouts and two pizzas. The Smith and the BBQ. We received our brussel Sprouts which was a good serving for 4 people and most of them were hard and not cooked enough. We didn't say anything about them and but shortly after we received the first order they brought us another order of them on the house. The second order was much better cooked. We waited two hours for our pizzas. The staff felt horrible about the backup as apparently the wood fired oven can only cook 2 to 3 pizzas at a time and they definitely weren't prepared for a busy holiday weekend. They definitely have some kinks to work out. We received our pizzas and I was disappointed, they did have good flavor but the crust was really thin in the middle (I actually love thin crust NY style pizza) and for $27 each for a 12" pizza that was minimal toppings on them. I think they have the ability to be a great place to go when you're on the coast but I sadly don't see them drawing in the locals on a regular basis as these prices. The manager/owner did feel really bad about our wait and took one of the pizzas off our bill which was a nice gesture. I was so excited to try them but I don't think we will go back.

My boyfriend and I haven't stopped raving about this restaurant. We were in town on vacation and I stumbled across this online. The food - incredible. The views - picturesque. The service - stellar and impeccable. I still dream of this restaurant and I know it is first on my list to return back to when I find myself in Manzanita again.

Beautiful flowers in planter outside The Salmonberry. Most likely Helianthemum 'Henfield Brilliant'

We really enjoyed our dinner at The Salmonberry. Good service, beautiful view and a great pizza. I also loved the gorgeous planters out front.

Too many people had the same idea for dinner...but the staff was hustling to get people seated and fed. We shifted plans and put the dogs in the car so we could get a seat faster inside. The food was great. We had the meatballs...asparagus and a beet salad...yum.

Mushroom pizza & a side of meatballs & a manhattan!

WOW WOW WOW!! Hidden gem in Wheeler! Not only the most spectacular setting... But the food was a 10!!!! The service was a 10!!!! The ambience was a 10!!! Loved it so much I'm going back tonight !

    Pepperoni Pizza, Meatballs, Caesar Salad

Showed up right when they opened. Got great service and our waiter was delightful. Super nice guy had a good conversation with him and got great service from multiple people. They got us a dog bowl for water as we were sitting out on the patio. The food was great! Really good presentation as well as good flavors. We got the pepperoni pizza (the honey on this was delicious!), the caesar and beet salads. Plus the meatballs. They were all good portions and delicious! It was also a great view of the river out on the patio with umbrellas for shade. Would go again and recommend to anyone based on my experience.

    Meat Wood Fired Pizza, incredible!!

Outstanding service, incredible food and gorgeous ambiance! We got the carrots for an appetizer and they were amazing and then we got the meat pizza with hot honey which was just the best!! Highly recommend this place! Our night was magical thanks to the food and the view!

Highly recommended. Super great view of the bay, delicious pizza and meatballs we tried. Will definitely be coming back. Really cute bar too.

Amazing little place in the tiny town of Wheeler. I'm not sure what's better, the food or the view? Let's not forget the cocktails. It's a casual place, order at the counter and they will give you a number. Then you grab your utensils and water etc. They will find you and bring out your food/ drinks. Service was super friendly. Everything we tried was amazing. We had some oysters (delish) , meatball appetizer, the mushroom pizza, meatball pizza and a pasta that had shrimp. We also indulged in a few cocktails which were also very well made. Prices were not inexpensive but warranted for the quality of food & also the portions were not small. I'm always looking for another reason to drive to the coast, & going to the Salmonberry is now another I can add to the list.

I've learned to check their business page on Facebook to see if I should make the drive or you can call since they also close early if they are sold out. Where we initially discovered their tasty smoked salmon was at the Manzanita Farmers Market where they regularly have a booth from mid-May through September. The only downside is that they don't carry their full range of products at the market, but still it is a great experience. To see all of the options from fresh salmon chowder, salmon spreads, smoked salmon mac & cheese, and the salmon sushi bake. At the store they also carry a number of dessert items. Depending on the day's catch, they frequently have King, Coho, Sockeye, Black Cod, Tuna, and Steelhead. We've tried a number of smoked salmon options on the coast from Astoria to Newport, and the Neahkahnie Smoke House is a our regular spot.

I'll start with the positive: The French Toast is probably the best I've ever had! My wife ordered the French Toast, and after I tried a bite of hers, I ordered a piece. All of the ingredients were fresh; but the prices are a little higher than they ought to be. I ordered the Biscuits and Groovy. Biscuits is plural in the name. If there were 2 biscuits, they were tiny. If there was only 1 biscuit, maybe rename the item Biscuit & Groovy. In either case, there wasn't a lot of gravy. The wait wasn't bad. 30 minutes for a table for 2 on a Sunday in February. Can't imagine the wait in the Spring or Summer. We ordered 3 cocktails. Total for all three was $41. These were easily the most expensive 'mocktails' ever. None of them seemed to have much liquor. You aren't going to get lit at Yolk. All in all, 3.5 stars. But I wouldn't go back. And I definitely wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes to dine at Yolk.

In fact, it was one of the most memorable stories I've heard all year from a long-time local. You see, in its current form, Marzano's operates solely as a take away pizza place several evenings a week. But, years ago, this location included a dining room. Imagine, if you will, a foggy night on the coast, off season, and you bring your family to Marzano's and order a bottle of wine to share with your partner and some Garlic Cheese Bread for the table to nibble on while your pizza bakes. When the pizza arrives hot from the oven and your cheeks are rosy as you are surrounded by the aroma and witness the cheese still bubbling as the mighty pie is delivered to your table. Hot pizza on a cold night is a magical thing. I've been a regular customer for the past year and have settled on the Combo Traditional as my favorite pie. Three sizes available (10, 14, and 18 inches) and slices on the large pizza are significant, so I recommend you have them double cut. They have a prime location only a couple blocks from the beach, so parking can be a bit of a challenge in the summer, but they do have short term parking out front. Now, one last tip from a semi-local... they don't accept timed orders. So it is a bit of a learning process to figure out when to order starting at 4:00p, since the wait can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2-1/2 hours based on the day of the week and a few other factors. But, it is one of our favorite dinners in town if we time it right. I just can't help but wish I got to experience the Marzano's dining room on one of those long ago foggy nights.
