In response to the owner's reply - I rarely leave one-star reviews because I truly appreciate good local businesses, but I want to clarify our experience. Your lot was full, so we briefly parked on the street and were asked to move. That's fine, but it added time. When we got in, we were told it was a 45-minute wait and that we could get pastries to go. We started eating inside near the counter, but the owner asked us to leave the dining area. We ended up standing in the parking lot to eat, and my husband had to give himself an insulin shot out there, which was honestly embarrassing. In your reply, you mentioned patio seating and coffee, but none of that was offered to us. I understand that others may have better visits, but this was our experience and I think it is fair to share it. We were really disappointed with our experience at Wanda's. Parking was difficult, and after parking once we were told to move. Inside a 45-minute wait, so we opted for grab and go. Unfortunately, all 3 pastries tasted stale. Then, when we tried to find a place to eat them, we were told we couldn't stay and ended up eating standing in parking lot. Grabbed some breakfast to go- coffee, biscuits and gravy and a cinnamon roll big enough to feed an army. Extremely good and well worth the drive from Cannon Beach. Service was great and the restaurant looked like it had a lot of seating inside and out. read more

Wow! I would seriously go back just for the cinnamon roll! The famous giant cinnamon roll is absolutely delicious, and you definitely need to get one to go! They have a coffee bar you can order a drink to enjoy on the front patio while you wait for a table (it's a tiny spot, expect a wait on the weekends! We were quoted 30 minutes and I think it was closer to 20). There's also a small area to buy some cool coastal souvenirs, prices were pretty reasonable and there were so many fun stickers to look through. They also sell baked goods to go in this area, the breads seemed a little spendy, but the smaller goods were reasonably priced. Our group got an assortment of foods, but I'm a sucker for a Belgian waffle, and they had a delicious maple flavored waffle that weekend. I added bacon on the side, a little too crispy for my taste but great flavor overall! The one drawback? Their menu states they serve Coke products....used to. They are now a Pepsi restaurant (apparently Coca Cola was too unreliable for deliveries). Wish they would update their menu to reflect that, I was so sad I couldn't get a crispy Diet Coke before our drive back to Portland. The good news? They did have Diet Dr Pepper, so I still left happy. read more

Two for breakfast this morning. This is a VERY popular place, so if you don't get there right when they open you'll have a wait. The good news is they have a beautiful waiting area outdoors (see photo). They also have a nice covered patio seating area for dining, so this place is bigger than it looks. The menu is great for brunch - nice mixture of Benedict's, sandwiches, etc. On weekends they have cinnamon rolls, which is what I opted for. They are massive - I could only finish 1/2, and I'm a big eater. My wife enjoyed her 2 egg breakfast which came with a nice fruit bowl and really good biscuit. The service is great, the staff really hustles. One of the better breakfast places I've been to in quite a while. Highly recommended. read more

I'm writing this as a black man in a predominantly white town: I don't know why some ppl here think the staff is rude..etc. I travel here from LA during the holidays and everytime I come here to get coffee and pastries, the staff has been polite, friendly, and very accommodating. I've come here numerous times and all I've got is love from these people. The problem is there's a lot of entitled uhappy ppl living in this town and unfortunately, they're looking to either be a victim or raise hell at the slightest inconvenience. read more

So I attempted to go to this restaurant twice on my visit and it was always busy with the wait being pretty long. Luckily on my third day it was only 30 minutes and I waited it out. It wasn't as long as I'd thought it would be. They have an outdoor waiting area with coffee. Every person was also very friendly. Once I got inside I understood the wait. Its a small space, you can tell they have expanded. I loved how it was layed out though with what they had. It felt local and modern at the same time. After eating the wait times made complete sense. Everything I ate was incredible. I had a breakfast sandwich, but it was perfect and the potatoes it came with were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also bought baked goods on my way out and all if them have been delicious! The coffee coffee cake are currently my favorite, but I still have two other cookies to get through! Love this place by far my best breakfast experience at the coast this trip. I will definitely want to come back. read more

This is a destination cafe. We tried to find someplace that had some healthy options and randomly found this cafe in Nehalem. This place is fantastic! Cinnamon rolls the size of your head. Yes, you heard that right. We both opted for salads, trying to be a little bit healthy. They were fantastic and came with warm delicious bread. The staff was amazing. Again did not disappoint! Food was great and the staff were very attentive. The only issue we had was the table next to us was a bit loud but that is not the restaurant's fault. Great Father's Day breakfast for me. Loved it. Will definitely return in the future if we are in the area. read more

We drove to Nehalem from Beaverton for a beach day and we got to Wanda's a little before noon and the hostess outside said it would be around an hour (but she overestimated and said it usually is quicker) so we walked around the little town for a bit and then waited in the ample sitting space out front and time flew by and then we were sat a little before 1pm. The server was very sweet and friendly and the food was great, I ordered the smoked salmon omelette and it was so delicious, I added mushrooms and avocado to the omelette. The dill cream cheese was to die for. My friend ordered the 2 egg breakfast, my other friend is vegan and got the tofu scramble. I can see why the cafe was so busy, my whole table was gobbling up our food. Everything was great. We also ordered drinks, I ordered the laughing Wanda, and my friend ordered the Nutty Irishman. The cafe was really cute and the employees were all very nice even when it was incredibly busy. If I'm ever in town again I will definitely come back and try something else on the menu because it all looks so good! read more

It had been at least 10yrs since we were here and boy has it changed. Very well thought out and use of space for this gem. It was already busy for Saturday morning brunch but it only took 15-20 mins to be seated with a party of 4. While waiting, we were able to get adult beverages. Their store inside was filled with lots of bakery options that were hard to resist (I couldn't as i ended up getting a cinnamon roll to go). Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. Our table was mixed with breakfast & lunch choices. Everything on the menu was available at 10 am. Prices were very reasonable. All chosen options were great and more to be tried! Great find on the Oregon coast. We were hanging out near Nehalem and found a great breakfast and lunch spot. Wanda's is a diamond in the ruff. Very unique spot with a lot of cool decor, as you walk into the small seating area within the main building they have a small shop, as you work to the back area they have a beautiful and eclectic covered patio. I cannot say enough about the decor, so much to look at within the covered patio seating area. They have about 6 tables in one section and a few more in the adjoining back area. The wait staff was very attentive. We were able to order our drinks and food within a few minutes of being seated. The food variety is great, many main breakfast and lunch dishes. We had a variety of dishes. Two egg and bacon , egg and sausage patties to a grilled cheese. All well prepared, hot and very tasty. I look forward to visiting again. read more

From the moment we arrived, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The manager greeted us warmly, instantly making us feel welcome with their friendly demeanor and deep knowledge of the place. Despite arriving on a Sunday around noon, our wait was only about 10 minutes, which flew by thanks to the charming bakery and gift shop inside. Once seated, the great experience continued. We placed our order, and to our delight, our delicious food arrived just 10 minutes later. Patrick, the owner, personally stopped by to say hello and shared the inspiring history of the café, highlighting all the incredible work he and his partner have done for both the restaurant and the community. The atmosphere was electric--everywhere we looked, patrons were smiling, and the positive energy radiated beyond the building. Wow. We had somehow missed this hidden gem, but discovered it on our last trip and I will be going out of my way to return again in the future. There's a sit down restaurant, but they had a bit of a wait and we had somewhere to be so we decided to grab pastries and coffee and ate them out front instead. We went for a muffin, coffee cake, and I grabbed a quiche lorraine on a whim. The pastries were all good, but the quiche was incredible! I'm not usually a quiche girlie because I've had an amazing one and I'm easily disappointed, but wow! It was so good that my family decided to help me eat it and I had to go inside and get another one. The coffee was also pretty good. I've had some really disappointing espresso on the coast, but my latte was perfect. Everything was so good that we almost stopped in again the following day. I can't wait to go back and try their giant cinnamon rolls and maybe even a sit down breakfast. read more

Hadn't been to Wanda's in about 20 years: very happy to see they're still there, though it's gone upscale and even more popular than the last time we were there. Parking is a bit insane (even on a Tuesday noon in early May), but it was worth it. Nice host/server, and the brunch fare (pepper-jack omelet and a breakfast sandwich) were tasty. The decor 20 years ago was all red-and-white gingham, and when they redid the place a few years back, we understand the old decor got sold off to benefit the local food bank. Cool gift shop up in front, and bakery items (cookies and cakes-by-the-slice) to go as well. We'll be back, hopefully sooner than another 20 years. read more

Wanda's delivered on all accounts this morning! Quaint little coffee and breakfast joint. We arrived around 8:15 on a Friday and had a 30-40 minute wait to be seated. It's worth it. We ordered a latte inside, perused the small gift/ bakery shop, and chatted outside while we waited. There's ample seating while you wait. But the best past was still ahead. When we were seated they led us to the unique back patio. It was enclosed, so I guess not technically a patio, but , WOW! So eclectically adorable. The artfully constructed wall with up-cycled windows, decorated with stickers, etc, was totally awesome. Absolutely love the vibe. The service was spot on: cheerful, answered our questions, checked in with us often. The menu offered something for everyone and the food was delicious. I ordered the 2x2x2, a heavenly plate with two thick, fluffy pieces of French Toast, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of bacon. Yum. I terrific option if you want quality classic breakfast items both sweet & savory. My friend loved her smoked salmon omelette. We both loved Wanda's and would definitely return! Oh, and the scones! We took a couple to go and my share of the chai maple was awesome, too! read more
