    Breakfast Croissant
    Jessica B.

Last time we came here months ago it was a five star experience. We had the bf burrito and omelet. Eggs were fluffy and perfect. Today we tried the $15 bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches. The bacon was burnt and the croissant was burnt on both sides. The front door was open and it was so cold in there. It was a brisk morning so not sure why the door was left open. You can see the ocean from this place so that helped make up for the burned food a little. This is one of those "order at the front and pay first" places. My husband was going to tip w Cash AFTER we ate. Hope the perceived no tip isn't why they brought out burned food.

View of the beach nearby, you can see the same beach horizon from the cafe seating

Amazing breakfast burrito (we chose the Mondo with the added avocado & salsa!) and it was freshly made and so delicious. View of the ocean from inside and the outdoor seating. Parking for the beach is nearby so fairly easy to find a spot. Loved the local paintings and watercolor on display in the cafe. A friendly vibe. Good coffee! Perfect spot to stop before strolling the beach - access is right there!

One of the best, if not THE BEST, breakfast burrito I've had in my life. We stopped in on our way back home after a weekend at Cape Lookout Campground. Sat outside on a gorgeous day soaking up the sun looking at the waves. Great vibe inside, not too crowded at noon and as mentioned, delicious burrito. Crispy parts on the outside, soft and pillowy eggs, yummy salsa. Just all of it so good. Definitely will be back when in the area.

    The "Regular " breakfast burrito

Friendly cafe with a great breakfast burrito! (The croissant sandwich was also very good) so glad Oceanside has this little cafe to fill us with coffee and good eats. It is also where they rent surf/beach gear so you can make your list while you eat.

    Beautiful scenery.

Exceptional service and great food! The view from our seats was amazing. I also recommend the smoothies.

    The mondo breakfast burrito

The food was great, generous portions and one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. The ambiance is very coastal and the people were kind and friendly. Great service!

I say this because I tried the almond danish on my first visit and it is so delicately delicious I have never found a need to venture beyond that taste treat. I often get breakfast and then bring the pastry (which is huge) with me to nibble on, and put a smile on my face, all day - & it stays fresh! They have a limited lunch and breakfast menu. However, I find it has significant enough variety that me and my guests have never had a problem finding something to enjoy. I have had breakfast there, never lunch. I find what I have eaten reliably tasty, but it does not rock. For the food I would put it in the low 4 category, pastry an absolute 5. Coffee blows away the chain coffee shops and I find it very tasty, not bitter. They do all the fancy drinks and they execute the one I always get - cappuccino - extremely well. My one bit of advice is to ask for the coffee in a mug if you are having it to stay because otherwise it will be served to you in a paper cup. I find paper cups cramp the froth into a small area and ALSO blocks your nose from getting a good whiff of that awesome coffee smell. Smelling is a huge part of taste - so do not forget the ask - there is no up charge for the real mug. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating with variety in the indoor, ranging from a very large, family style, round table in the middle of the room, to bars at the windows and tables throughout - with plenty of spacing. The outdoor seating is behind the roastery and consists of wooden picnic tables. This is complimented with an extremely unique and , obviously, cared for garden with a variety of flowers and evergreens. Finally, the service. One orders at the counter where my only experience has been one of patience, informative and courteous order takers. You then find a seat or you can wait for your order at the counter. The coffee is prepared immediately and, I have found, the food is prepared efficiently. I have nothing but very positive interactions with staff. Do note that they have a drive up window as well. Located directly across from the Tillamook Creamery: extremely convenient if accessing the Coast thru Tillamook. All in, I would rate Five Rivers about a 4.5 - Enjoy the experience!

Management needs to do a better job at this. Our friend and I both did not enjoy our hot lattes. The cold versions were ok. For those who collector stickers, it's $3.50 for one. About the same price as an espresso shot. Not worth it for me. Service was friendly from the female cashier. Interior is small but with plenty of seating. The location is right across the street from Tillamook creamery, but there are no crosswalks to get there. Crossing the street is a bit sketch. For a coffee roaster, I expected better quality.

Your lot was full, so we briefly parked on the street and were asked to move. That's fine, but it added time. When we got in, we were told it was a 45-minute wait and that we could get pastries to go. We started eating inside near the counter, but the owner asked us to leave the dining area. We ended up standing in the parking lot to eat, and my husband had to give himself an insulin shot out there, which was honestly embarrassing. In your reply, you mentioned patio seating and coffee, but none of that was offered to us. I understand that others may have better visits, but this was our experience and I think it is fair to share it. We were really disappointed with our experience at Wanda's. Parking was difficult, and after parking once we were told to move. Inside a 45-minute wait, so we opted for grab and go. Unfortunately, all 3 pastries tasted stale. Then, when we tried to find a place to eat them, we were told we couldn't stay and ended up eating standing in parking lot. Between the parking hassle, long wait, stale food, and feeling unwelcome, it just wasn't the experience we'd hoped.

Come prepared with three things: cash, an appetite, and a little patience. They don't take reservations--you simply write your name on the waiting list and relax while you wait. Trust me, it's worth every minute. We waited about 25 minutes, and after eating here, we understood exactly why there's always a line. In fact, we loved it so much that we came back two mornings in a row! The warm marionberry scones, fresh from the oven, are absolutely unforgettable. They're easily twice the size of a traditional scone, making them perfect for sharing, and every bite is buttery, tender, and bursting with sweet marionberries. I ordered the mushroom and Tillamook cheddar omelet with breakfast potatoes, and it was outstanding. The mushrooms were perfectly sautéed, the Tillamook cheddar was rich, fresh, and flavorful, and the potatoes tasted like they had been prepared that very morning before being crisped to perfection when ordered. Every bite tasted homemade. Our waitress had customer service down to a science--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant itself is wonderfully cozy, with just a handful of tables upstairs and additional seating downstairs. That intimate atmosphere means your food arrives incredibly fast. Ours was piping hot and on the table within just a few minutes of ordering. One thing to know before you go--they're cash only. Honestly, I can appreciate that. In a busy tourist town where credit card fraud is an unfortunate reality, it's a simple system that clearly works well for them. If you're looking for an unforgettable breakfast, brunch, or lunch, The Lazy Susan absolutely belongs on your list. Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better, our waitress casually asked if we'd like dessert. I laughed and said, "You have desserts?" She pointed to the homemade dessert menu, and we couldn't resist taking home a slice of the chocolate silk pie and the peanut butter pie AND Oh my heavens....Each was incredibly rich and velvety--almost like an indulgent cheesecake--with homemade flavor in every bite. They became the perfect mid-afternoon treat, and now I already have an excuse to come back because I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the dessert menu. Some restaurants are worth visiting... The Lazy Susan is worth planning your trip around!
