This is my second time coming to Bistro Maison, and I fell in love all over again. You enter into a little cozy house, filled with the delicious smells of French cooking. We were originally seated inside, but I asked to be moved outside, which they quickly accommodated. Sitting outside in the garden with the string lights definitely elevated the experience. I ordered the Tartiflette, and couldn't have been happier. All the ingredients melded together so well, from the red potato to the melted cheese and bacon - I wish I could have that everyday! We also ordered a salad and a soup, to make things a little healthier ;) Topped off with an espresso, this was the perfect evening at Bistro Maison.

Thankfully... the weather was great so we scored an outside seat on the quaint/shady patio. The cheese/fruit/nut platter really hit the spot. The adult beverages were numerous and very generous. The husband enjoyed the muscle in broth. It was delicious. I had the cassoulet; generous serving piping hot. I found the meat a bit overdone but otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner together with the dogs! They allow pups on the patio. Nice touch. Our servers were super friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. Very good service is worth the price for a nice date night at this Bistro.

Food was good: I had scallops and shrimp which were delicious. Served with a saffron sauce which was excellent. However the veggies that came with it were difficult to eat: stir fried bokchoy was so stringy it was impossible to cut or eat without gulping the whole thing down. My husband had the duck and he enjoyed it. We split a salad with toasted hazelnuts, goat cheese, poached pears, squash and apples which was a BIG salad so excellent to split. The wines were decent, the service was excellent from the waiter and waitress but near-rude/ indifferent from the maitre d' /more mature owner lady?? She gave me the vibe we didn't order enough wine/dessert (heck, it was enough food for us, and at $150 not cheap) and was almost offended when we asked to sit outside in the gorgeous courtyard instead of the reservations we had for inside. There was nobody at any tables inside (stuffy) and the outside still had plenty of tables open.... So, kind of a mixed bag for me

Had a fantastic birthday dinner with my mom! Not cheap but the food was lovely. It's a tight squeeze through the restaurant and not a fancy or romantic atmosphere but the food and wine were absolutely exceptional!

There is no better restaurant in McMinnville, or beyond, for fantastic food, service and atmosphere. This would be a very long review if I went into all the details I loved about this French gem - instead I will just say GO! (And definitely order the mussels!)

Absolutely floored that there's a French restaurant in McMinnville, and not just that but an incredible one! From the second you step through the quaint, lantern lit garden in front of the small house you feel you've stepped into something special. We ate out in the veranda outside, and it made for a lovely experience on a warm autumn night. The beauty of dining in McMinnville is that there's room to breathe in the restaurant as not too many people are there, the service is highly attentive to all your needs, and the food comes quick. Not just that, but the food tastes fresher than most of what you'll have even in Portland. It felt like the vegetables and fruits had been plucked from the garden that same day. From the lobster ravioli we had to the stunning strawberry meringue for dessert, the food perfectly captured the essence of eating both a home cooked meal and a gourmet one. Definitely worth the drive out to McMinnville to enjoy this hidden country gem.

Service is friendly and food is good. A huge menu with many eclectic items. Also a large wine list. Just wish it was not so noisy.

We are glad it was the Newbergundian Bistro. We had to start with a Croissant. It was very flavorful, but it was bit soft, not the perfect crunch that we love. The fresh squeezed grapefruit juice made an excellent greyhound. The Bistro had my favorite...Escargot as a special. WOW. So good. We then shared the Potato Croquettes. The accompanying fondue was so good to dip the Croquettes into. We finished with a Ham and Brie Sandwich that was excellent, accompanied by crisp and hot french fries. My wife had the Grilled Five Cheese Sandwich with Mixed Greens. She loved it. Traci was terrific and helped us throughout the meal.

We started at the bar, which was not comfortable for my mom but eventually we were able to sit on the patio which was great. Potato croquet appetizer - yummy. The cheese, pickle, mustard and croquettes go together as one perfect bite. I got the open face Ruben. It was delicious. I tried the grilled cheese which my sister got too - yummy, but there's a sticky cheese on there that I didn't love. Greens that came with all items were weird. Didn't eat them - don't know what they were.
