    They nailed it on Service but seemed to be understaffed. For the most part their food standards are above average. The "Clam Chowder and Center Cut Filet Mignon" is memorable! Must try it you won't regret it. Just make sure to ask them not to season it! Especially on any meat, fish and pasta dishes. They tend to over seasoned and salty.

    The service here is OUTSTANDING in every way! The interior is lovely and intimate. The food, well, it just isn't good. I got a daily special, which provided a comically large amount of food for a low price, but I'd much rather have spent the same amount on a smaller quantity of higher quality. The steak was just off...not that it was spoiled, it was just really low quality (like USDA "fit for human consumption" grade). Soups were slightly better, but still tasted like frozen soups available at Chef'Store. As such, the prices were just too high. Dessert? Looked a whole lot better than it tasted. Again, it tasted like it was purchased from a restaurant supply store. There really aren't a whole lot of dining options if you're staying at Spirit Mountain, so they pretty well have a captive audience, and they seem to know that, and don't care to provide better food.

    Wow, I was pretty impressed with this place. It's pretty upscale and they give you tons on focaccia bread with cheese on it with aioli to start off with. The side salads were huge and everyone likes their wedding soup. Vicky was a really nice waitress and did a great job. The older lady with gray hair at the hostess station outside the restaurant is n the hall that takes your name for seating was a trip. I asked for seating for 6 and she thought I wanted a reservation. I was like no we want to eat right now. I got the spaghetti and marinara sauce. I'm t was pretty good. My buddy got the top sirloin and fries and others got linguine with clams, chicken Parmesan, chicken Marsala and they all we delicious. They have huge servings too. I would come back here again.

    Came here last night with a large group and this place still gets 5 stars. Service was great and the star of the show goes to the steaks / prime rib.

    2022 Graduation party! Celebrated our cousin/Aunty's graduation . I would have rated it higher from our previous experience because we had such a great experience on top of amazing food. I would have understand their multiple mistakes with our order if there were actually busy, but we were the only big group that was sat down to three tables . And there were maybe one or two couples that came in. What were their mistake you ask? Well let me write down a few since there were too many to discuss I don't want to write a telenovela . First of all it took forever to get our orders in and we were even corrected for trying to give our orders because she wanted it a certain way, so we're nice people so okay. Next, appetizers were not put in on time and our bread was even forgotten and not even a question if we wanted more water or bread . Our table was left behind because they forgot our bread so we just shared from our next door neighbor which is friends and family so it's okay. Then came our order after 30+++ minutes later with no bread to munch on or appetizers delayed so you can picture a bit how we looked like hungry for dinner. We were definitely hangry but still showed kindness due to being a big group (not mention big tip too). In addition, the worst part is I mentioned I was pregnant and that I needed to make sure the meat I ordered is medium well (or at least cooked enough) and it came out as medium rare bleeding all over the plate making the things next to it turn red. I wasn't the only one that they did that too my uncles and dad as well . My dad medium was super rare and meat was super red and my mom called it to go colonoscopy on a plate . I cracked up because that's where he will need to get if he continued to eat that bloody red meat. Not to mentioned, I had to use my my phone flashlight to see what I am eating . That shouldn't be the case but the first night was great with good lighting but second time around they dimmed it so dark that we had such a bad time trying to make sure the food were eating is okay . If we didn't use our flashlight through our phone we wouldn't be seeing the bleeding meat for them to recooked. I do admit the calamari is great, the meat tasted okay Only it wasn't bleeding for a medium well. I think anyone could cook it if we weren't so lazy (hence why we went to restaurant)!lol. Lobster is same as other location and maybe cheaper because I don't think it's worth 50+ dollar for it. The side pastas aren't as good as the regular pasta they served. I do like the shrimp scampi we got on the first day. The second day was just meh. We even got out drinks such as the lemonade washed out and tasted just watered down and not enough syrup. We asked for it to get adjusted and maybe another pump or two more but we were just ignored and forgotten. Last but not least , they messed up the billing and lost one of the grads mom card . she was freaking out because the person who helped us just said "I don't know" or not knowing what their doing bits like telling someone who is in the surgery and the doctor saying "uh oh". Not a good feeling indeed so I totally understand. I'm just glad we had great company with good people surrounding us for a good time to celebrate our family's and friends grad. We do appreciate them taking us in but we are also good paying customers. I do believe having a great server who knows what their doing really makes a difference because not only it sets the atmosphere of the place, but it reflects how good the restaurant is. I forgot her name, but she was so friendly, helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stay despite how busy it was that day . we also had a group so it shouldn't be any different . Although, the only difference is our server and who helped us the second day. I wouldn't mind going back for their calamari and clam chowder. Otherwise, it's nice to try new different place and experiencing a supposedly a nice dining place.

    We love this place always a pleasure to have dinner there. The waitress is always nice and attentive. The food specials are really good .

Very cool, very down to earth. We showed up in our bike clothes( this is one relaxed tasting room) and were welcomed by Shawn, one of the owners. He had some cool music groovin', some old vinyls alongside the bar, and with my Pliny in hand, I wanted to spend the rest of the day here chatting up the locals. If I lived in town, you'd probably find me here more often than the Pelican. You can always find fresh Russian River beers on tap and for sale in bottles here. Ask me how I know? Why don't you ask them? :) The wine is really well priced, lots of Cabs and Syrahs, (try the Reversal Syrah!) and as they said on their menu, good for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night drinking.... We noticed Chenin, Shawn's wife wasn't around that day and found she was at the PSU Farmer's market where they attend all summer. Shawn also told me you can find them Thursday evenings at another Farmer's market in the Pearl in Portland. Sweet. As much as I love coming to Pacific City, it's also nice to know we can find their wine in Portland in the summertime since they don't sell it retail in stores. An hour later, (maybe two?) we left smiling with two bottles of wine, the Basket Case Syrah and a red table wine in hand, and two empty pint glasses of Pliny on the bar.

I've never been to a wine bar or restaurant that refuses to let guests taste wines before committing to a full pour, especially at their price point. Yet the bartender here would not allow us to taste anything. Since tasting wasn't permitted, I asked him about the wines to help guide our choices, and he still couldn't answer basic questions. The few descriptions he offered were inaccurate, and we ended up purchasing wine we didn't enjoy at an overpriced rate, which is exactly why tasting is standard practice in this industry. To make matters worse, the bartender had an attitude and was not friendly or welcoming. With so many great wine bars in walking distance, you'd expect a higher level of customer service. Clearly that's not a priority here. And one more strange detail: they advertise that they have records, but you are not allowed to pick the records they play... Overall an incredibly disappointing visit. I wouldn't recommend this place when there are so many better options nearby.
