Fast forward to today, we own a car and decided it was time to find a more local option. After visiting Hawks View this past weekend I can say we've accomplished that and then some. This place sits firmly in the sweet spot of not being too "dinky" or small and not being too stuffy or corporate. I know we all have our preferences, I just like for my environment to be laid back or relaxed. The wines are fantastic here. Keep in mind, I'm no connoisseur of fine wine but I do know good from bad. Beyond the wine, we love this place due to the view (of course) but also the fact you can parlay your wine allocation pick up with a rotating menu of food. Makes for a great little weekend getaway or drive in the car.

Now on to the wine flights. We both had flights which they let us customize. We both loved all the wines we tried and we both bought a few bottles to take home. It is unusual for me to like all the wines anywhere so it was a nice surprise. We finished our meal and moved outside with a glass of the Reserve Chardonnay to relax on the lawn. After letting them know I'd like to give them money, they assuredly let me know I may or may not receive service. After waiting a while longer, I decided this place is obviously unconcerned with their potential clientele, thus I do not need to be concerned as a potential client.

We sat in the back barstool and chair area with the big-screen TVs, karaoke, and pool tables. Up front, there's a nice bar and table seating area. They also have a 4 p.m. menu that isn't served on Sundays. The owners and staff were very friendly and attentive. I appreciated how often they stopped by our table to check if we needed anything.
