I'm not waiting on the waiters because they were trying. Placed was packed on Mother's Day and they only had one server and one line cook. This is our most favorite casual restaurant/bar to hang out at. It's a converted house and feels very much like you're in a friend's home. It's the best in the summer when everyone is in the backyard (well-mannered kids & dogs are welcome). But winter is a great time too - my boyfriend & I play Trivial Pursuit for hours, while sipping a cold one. And the food menu increases all the time! I've lived in this area for going on 40 years and have been noticing a sharp rise in the number of taphouses that have been popping up recently. So I've been dropping by to check them out to see if they would be a suitable watering hole. This is one of the newer entries and I happened to stumble on it on my way to the Legion post where I sometimes show up for a meal and a Colorado Koolaid. This place is in what used to be a private home on a side street just off the main drag. No problem parking the hog out front especially in the evening or on Saturdays. There's free parking around if you don't mind walking a block or two. This place is certainly ok although not exactly Biker friendly. No minus stars for that though as they seem to focus on attracting college age kids and yuppies driving a Prius. Well, I guess the lastest fad for those people is driving a Tesla. Waaaaay too many children and dogs to suit me but again, no minus stars for that. This is not a Biker dive bar nor do they seek to be. Good selection of tap beer and I'm enjoying the variety of craft beers that this area offers. Recent studies have shown that a couple of glasses of alcohol every day and putting on a few pounds in old age extends longevity so pour me another, please! Nice patio with not real comfortable wooden picnic benches to sit at. You can nurse a few pints chatting with a friend and no one is bugging you for refills or to hit the road. I don't generally drink inside unless there is no outside. I was surprised how noisy these loud-mouthed yuppies are. People with nothing to say who want to be sure you have to listen to them whether you want to or not. The food tries too hard, IMHO. A thick, juicy burger and killer fries would be more to my liking but as I've said, they are catering to a crowd that knows nothing about good comfort food. Staff is fine. Mostly barely legal kids. The barkeep is (I'm assuming) the proprietor. Very friendly and accommodating. No complaints there at all. They seem like nice people who are happy to be working there. This is never going to become my favorite go-to gin mill especially since there is a very similar tap house very close to home. But if you are into a family/kid/dog friendly taphouse with good brews and decent prices you'll like this place. You might want to have dinner before you head here as the food was not especially filling or inspiring. My friend ordered the pretzel and I laughed out loud when they brought it out. I met up with my boss and some co workers here. It was a hot, sunny, summer day and sitting out back was actually really nice. I mean, yeah, the alcohol was flowing so that helped, but it was spacious and people were talking and laughing, and having a great time. Lots of families with children and people with their dogs, I think I even saw a kids birthday party in the corner. I thought the tap selection was on par with most other places I've been; a couple ciders and seltzers, lots of IPA's because it's trendy I suppose. I ordered the hummus plate and it was good, nothing to write home about tho. That apple tree our back kept dropping fruit which loudly landed on the tables and on the ground all around me. I'm pretty sure it was trying to kill someone. And that's all I've got. Hummus. Beer. And the killer apple tree. Oh! The porta potty wasn't gross or anything but I still disliked having to use it. Often times families will be hanging out with their kids or friends while playing games and drinking a beer. Food is just ok. I order a beer, chips with cheese and a Rubin with potato salad. 22 bucks. The Rubin is grilled like a panini. It's thin but tasty. The potato salad was interesting with big slices of potato with its dressing. Magic Cheese and chips. The meltdown of cheese is good but for he must have served me the bottom of the chip bag. Tigard Taphouse is located just off Main Street in Tigard. If you can't find street parking, there is a public parking lot for free right across from it which includes one Blink EV charger. They have a house and a huge backyard seating area with picnic tables as well as an outdoor bar. I counted over 20 taps easily serving beer, cider, wine, or kombucha. They also sell cans of non-alcoholic soda. Prices for pints are about $7. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My friend spilt their drink and the bartender replaced it for free. They care about their customers. The backyard is little up with strings of lights making it have a little ambience. Some of the picnic tables are also under cover. It looks like they show movies too, although I've never been to a showing. They have music playing in the backyard and I've gone when they have had live music too. This is the kind of place where you can go with another person or a group, catch up, and relax. It's also dog friendly too. They only serve snacks after 8 pm as the kitchen closes. I haven't tried their normal food there but it seems typical with nachos , salad, and wings. Family friendly too. I saw kids playing some board games they had at 9 pm. It looks like they might do a fire pit too, but it wasn't setup when I went. I recommend this place. read more

A nice place to hang out even if you're not a beer drinker. Tigard Taphouse has about 24-26 rotating craft beers on tap: lagers, IPA's, ales, pilsners, & stouts. If you can't find something you like here, there's something WRONG with you. For non-beer drinkers, they have a number of hard ciders on tap too and I'm getting to know hard ciders right now myself. They also have a decent list of wines too. They offer a few snack items and a small food menu: soft pretzels, peanuts, chips & queso, bratwurst, as well as a few sandwiches. Nothing special but kinda nice if you want to drink and munch on something. Nothing anywhere near lunch or dinner fare. Reasonable prices too. Tigard Taphouse is dog and kid-friendly as well, but no kids allowed on the premises after 8pm. I've never understood taking kids to places where adults are drinking but that's just the crotchety in me. Lots of picnic table seating outside and you can even join the weekly cornhole league. They have a deck area where you can walk around the facility and at night all the lights come on and it's very pretty. I've been torn about posting this review but I feel like it should be said. I love to support small businesses and I love a good outdoor area, and this place checked both boxes. It is a great tap house with a good selection of beer and a great outdoor patio. I've been a couple times with coworkers and can't complain. This review however, has to do with the demeanor of the staff towards children. BThey are disrespectful, rude, and dismissive of children. I was visiting with a friend of mine and we both had our 4 year old sons with us. They were doing normal four year old boy things. Playing in the rocks, running around the table, and playing on the tires that are around the trees. They were energetic but by no means were they unruly or out of control. We were approached twice by staff telling us to get our children under control saying things like "unruly children are a liability to our customers" and "come on! stop playing in the rocks guys". I understand unruly children, and i always keep an eye on my children to ensure they don't act out l, but this was not the case. It is a laid back outdoor area but it is not family friendly. I feel like if they do not want kids they should just make it 21+. This not a family friendly establishment. We ended up putting our boys in front of a screen so they wouldn't continue to get yelled at by the staff, which defeated the entire purpose of coming out to enjoy the patio and sun. We are regular Tigard Taphouse patrons that will not be back, nor will we ever recommend this place to our friends, which is a shame because it has the potential to be a great place. Advice: Invest in a corner with toys and games for children. Then the kids wouldn't disrupt your idea of a perfect utopian kid-free environment. read more

We went here for lunch on a Sunday. The space is nice, and dog-friendly. Lots of things on tap, including a bunch of ciders, which I like. Service was so-so, I would say they were cutting corners there. Menu is fairly limited and the food was maybe a notch above homemade but I would definitely not make a trip just for a meal. What a neat little joint! My family and I stumbled upon this place after doing the escape rooms across the street and saw that there was a local street market happening and walked into Tigard Taphouse for some beers. The outside back area is large but might not have enough seats however, there is tons of room for kids to run around and play while you enjoy a beer/wine. They also have cornhole. You can get a free sample of a beer if you are unable to choose between all of their options. There is an upstairs but I didn't go up there so I'm not sure what it looks like but I'm pretty sure this used to be an old home, turned to bar. Will be back when I'm in town again! read more

It's located in downtown tigard and they have a lot of free parking. The place feels like you are in someone's home. It's a cozy atmosphere. They have a lot of options to choose from - beer, ciders, wine. I got the cranberry cider and it was ok. It is kid friendly until 8 pm. They have a large patio with lights and it's so beautiful lit up at night and is dog friendly. The staff are very friendly. we just tried this place, but were harrassed and refused food service. A incoming patron verbally assaulted our table, and the counter person refused our food order. We had been at our table 20+ minutes before an unruly patron entered and immediately began harassing our table. We were the only inside people at any table, all others were out back at outside seating. we just wanted a meal and an specific Iron Horse Brewery Ale served only in Tigard by this establishment. The Unruly patron was shouting uncomfortable sexual preferences... we finished our meeting quickly in fear of further encounters, paid our bill and left. we do not feel comfortable reentering this hostile environment again...We welcome a responce from the propietor with respect to to the employee who third party refused us service. There's two stories and a large patio, which will be great in the summer, and board games on hand. They have a good beer and cider list. Menu pretty much shuts down at 9pm, but the menu didn't look that great, so no big loss. Good beer selection. Knowledgeable beertender.
