Art class + Beer + Wine
    Lydia T.

I attended an Art Class here with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. I haven't been able to visit this local, neighborhood tap house, but sure glad I did. Jessica John's apparently regularly has classes here. We enjoyed learning about Mandala for the afternoon. We enjoyed wine and beer offerings. The had a nice selection of beer and a little more limited on the wine. Tristin was serving us and was friendly and provided great customer service. This would be a fun place to go hang out, play some games and even have the option of bringing in your own food.

Visited on a Saturday evening, the person working (Jessica I believe) was kind enough to bring me the cider outside since I wanted to avoid my dog seeing the other dog who was enjoying the patio. She kindly brought me my drink outside! 10/10 for service and for the calm ambiance of chilling on the patio with my dog - definitely will be back!

This place has recently opened and they are destined for greatness! White Oak has already been quickly embraced by the neighborhood and will likely become a Beaverton favorite. White Oak is a taphouse so they provide a variety of different beers from mostly Oregon breweries. In all they have 18 different beers on tap, one cider and one non-alcoholic option (usually a CBD ginger beer). The beers are an eclectic mix of IPAs, lagers, pilsners and stouts. They also serve a variety of 4 different wines. In the short time they have been open, they have already swapped out 3 of their beers. The inside is adorned with a ton of wood accents that are all sourced from the same white oak tree (get where the name came from?). It's quite impressive when you see the inside of their space. They welcome both dogs and outside food and have a sizable collection of cards/board games so what's not to love?! If you find your way in, say hi to Dave (the owner) or Chris (one of the regular bartenders) and they will give you a good recommendation or give you a quick story about their journey to opening.

Quality tap list. Friendly bartenders (beertenders?). Low key vibe (during the afternoon, which is when I've gone). This is my jam. Recommend.

Great beer selection. Always rotating taps from many random breweries that are one offs. The plugs at most tables are great for work.

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!

The crispy pork stir-fry is -- perfectly crunchy, super savory, and easily the best in the area (my husband is obsessed). Friday, we decided to get takeout and were near progress ridge, and decided to pop into the shopping center to see if anything sounded good. Alas, there's a new wing stop so just husband was sold. So I thought finally, let's try this Thai place! Got my obligatory pumpkin curry and beef, and mango sticky rice. Both were very good. The curry, very flavorful, albeit in need of a little salt, but that's ok - we don't eat a lot of salt and takeout sometimes doesn't feel so great because it has a lot. The mango sticky rice - good, black rice a little al dente for me but a-ok. Fast forward to today - on my way home from a nail appointment and my husband and I are texting about dinner plans and he asks where are you - I say progress ridge, and he says what do you want? I said maybe Thai but I know you don't want that- want wing stop? Sure enough he looks at the website and says I want to try the Khao Soi and the sweet potato appetizer. What?! This guy has never once had Thai with me in 19 years! So, I decided to try something different and got the massaman curry, and the pad se ew noodles as well with shrimp. So I ordered everything pretty sure he wouldn't like it (but I would) and Khao Yai folks - HE LOVED IT. For me, never tried that kind of curry and may never get anything else.... Sooooooo delicious, roti, amazing. Pad se ew noodles - great. Didn't need them but they'll make a great lunch or second dinner. All in all I am doing a happy dance because we found a good, reasonable Thai place - and the cherry on top - my husband loves it too!
