Cool beer hall
Stephanie S.

Cool beer hall with so many options. There are 35 items on tap and if you can't find something there...well you have a bunch of ciders, beer, seltzers, and non alcoholic beverages in the coolers. They do charge a corking fee if you want to open the beverage and enjoy it on the spot. Clean tables and environment. Little parking lot available.

Fresh Hop season here in Portland has begun and Uptown Beer Co. had a great selection of every style of beer created with fresh hops on tap. This location on Scholls Ferry Rd has a casual roomy interior with walls lined with coolers filled with canned/bottled beers and ciders. Something amazing for everyone. Outside there are umbrella covered tables and tables under a tent. Dogs are welcome. Midcity Smashed burger is the food truck that is currently on rotation with smashed burgers that will not disappoint.

Gonna pass in future.

Went for the chili contest: $90 for two. WTF? Was it for charity? It included beer. Anyway, the people were pleasant, the beer in the cooler section was vast, and the place had a good vibe. Parking kinda sucked. But damn, I haven't experienced such sticker shock in awhile.

I swear I reviewed this place already but can't seem to find it. Bar was super chill with a great tap list. Their bottle and can selection was also quite exquisite. The bartenders were super friendly, and I loved how the bar smelled, just like a pine forest. Note they have somewhat limited parking. Would totally come back some time!

Complimenting the largest beer to-go selection I've ever seen, Uptown has an excellent "array" of on tap brews for your "input"-- including their own brews under brandname Binary. Props to, if not obvious, their 1337 level beer names (computer high nerddome).

Fries from the food truck, I just about licked the plate clean. Frose is a delight after a hot bicycle ride.

Always find something tasty on tap. My family often rides our bikes here for a beer and play some games, order snacks from the food cart.

Look at all those beers on tap!

Awesome secret beer place that isn't much of a secret. You have so many beers on tap. Can get a little overwhelming but you can always ask your beertender. They have wine and beer in the cooler that you can make a six pack and get a discount. I tried their hazy IPA and it was good. I like they have different sizes so if you're not sure, you can have a smaller beer or even do a beer flight. It's all very accommodating. They have huge bar area you can plug your laptop or charge your phone, long tables, tables outside and booths. Parking can get a little tricky, I parked on a side street a couple blocks down. They also have food you can order and it's made by the food cart next to them but brought in for you. I liked the laid back feel and thought it's a great place to kick back and have a few beers. Great casual atmosphere!

This place is legit. Been coming here for years. Evan is dope and Sarah is cool too. 4th best burger in the country.

My favorite new spot on Beaverton Hillsdale to grab a beer and hangout. Joined the mug club here because it is a great deal at $10 a month for first invite to exclusive events and new releases of beers, not to mention the extra 4oz you get in your mug as well. They have great outdoor seating options with picnic tables and are pet friendly. They do not have any food but I've a really good on site burger food truck that is killer. Great staff, great people, great beer you can't go wrong here!

Ask the Community - Uptown Beer

Why don't you allow kids at the schools ferry location? It's a much Family friendly location, with much more room and food it door seating.

The OLCC would not allow us to have minors due to having wall to wall alcohol advertising.

Is it child friendly?

21 and over at our Scholls Ferry location, but our Lake Oswego location, only 10 mins away is all ages.

I'll speak to the lounge/bar part here, which also has several different sides. First, the bar is your standard, modern-looking L-shaped counter, a bunch of stools, etc. it's not quite divey -- seems like it's aspiring to greater heights, though the dimly-lit tables and booths on the other side of the room would beg to differ. There are other tables out in the open, near the big window, better lit and with more of a restaurant vibe. It's all good; you got a nice happy hour, and above- average food for any bar or pub (hence the Kitchen) in the vicinity. The bartenders have all been spot-on, attentive but not pushy and a joy at happy hour. And yep, the chow I've had here to date has been resoundingly tasty, with the cod fish tacos (three) served up nicely slathered with lines of crema and paired with lots of avocado slices. Nice. Hummus plate was a winner too, the fresh hummus working against a nice, robust mix of fresh veggies. Plenty of food here. This is from the regular menu, which also sports a lot of familiar entries --- burgers, wraps, salads, fish and chips, even vegetarian options. Im down with this side of the Silver Birch; the actual kitchen/restaurant looks like it's on the other side of building (separate), so I can't speak to that but I would like to try it sometime. In any case, I like the joint better now than what it used to be, which was a Chinese restaurant; it's airier and lighter and has a better menu. There's karaoke, and the game room has plenty of entertainment. Also, it's located right on a roundabout, so getting into the small on-site parking lot can be a bit tricky.

Sadly the restaurant is closed at this time, this was a good stop if you're in Beaverton not sure…read moreif they're going to reopen at any point.

Old Market Pub &Brewery has been around for quite a while. It looks like 1994? That's when the…read morecraft beer scene was slowly emerging and getting a customer base.. before the over saturation that came later. This brewery is in a part of Portland we don't usually go to so there were lots of breweries that were new to us to try. Steve and I had lunch here. I saw that they had a pretty deluxe grilled cheese sandwich and that sounded great. With a few different kinds of cheese and tomato this sandwich proved to be more involved than I thought but it was good! Steve and I then shared an order of onion rings... man I haven't had those in a while and they were not disappointing at all. The beer... yes that was what our primary draw was to come here for. I got the the Row 14 which is a rice lager and this particular rice lager was Hopped. It was good! It had that nice graininess that you get with a rice lager in the flavor profile but with it being hopped it's a bit more bitter... a bit more of a bite. It wend good with the meal! We had another Old Market beer. This one was the Dark Ritual which was a dark lager. This was another good, solid beer also. Flavors to enjoy with this one are coffee, maltiness, roastiness, sweet with a smooth body. The restaurant location is cool. It's nice and spacious and comes across as kind of a college hangout (though I don't know if it really is). It also looks like you might even possibly get live music on certain nights. Old Market was a good, solid visit and is worthy of a return.

The staff here is amazing and very friendly and the yucca fries are good. Also, the honey root beer is very good. But it all ends there. I paid $18 for a burger. The tiny patty was overcooked, leathery and dwarfed by the bun. My partner got the beef and lamb gyro. This was absolutely horrible. The meat was dried out like jerky and unchewable. Even the feta cheese was dried out. Fortunately, the very sweet waitress took that off the bill since he only took a couple bites. I think the meat was bad because he woke up sick to his stomach and I'm running to the bathroom a lot. This place has seen better days and I think it's over. We will not be returning. It's such a cute place and convenient that we've given it several tries, but we have been disappointed every time. This place could be a cold mine. They just need to get some cooks that can actually cook a decent meal.
