Where do I even start? Two months ago I saw a Facebook post of someone who had a hazy IPA in their hand featuring my favorite book series Dungeon Crawler Carl. Before Facebook could refresh the screen, I was sure too quickly Google search the brewery. I went onto their website as I was eager to get my hands on a case. I reached out and was immediately contacted by Tav at Binary Brewing. He put me in contact with his guy Josh, who was working with their distributor to deliver this particular beer down to southern Oregon so my parents could pick it up for me. The distributor had issues getting the case down, but the folks at Binary Brewing kept in contact with me and continued to attempt delivery. After a second failed attempt by their distributor, Josh stepped up and delivered it down to Beerworks in Medford himself. I was able to enjoy the beer right as the newest book was released. I like Binary Brewing a lot! The theme is great and the staff are always super nice. They have two areas of indoor seating, one is near the pinball machines, plus outdoor seating that is dog friendly - perfect on a nice summer day. There are a variety of beers to suit different tastes and you can always do a flight of 5 if you can't decide. I liked their Saison. I feel like they have quite a variety of events too, from drink/draw, D&D and Magic. They also tend to be quieter than the other breweries near by which is a plus for me. Binary is located in downtown Beaverton off SW Broadway. I have not been in this area in a while; there are a lot of new eateries and housing developments. Binary has a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere; the staff was also extremely friendly. Their food menu has a variety of options, from Mashubi, Tots to Burgers. I had the Stock Burger, it has lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, pickle on a toasted bun. The burger had great flavor and cooked to my liking; I also added bacon. The burger was full of flavor. I ordered the Planet Brewtiful English IPA, good flavor Hazy IPA. they have a variety of options from sours to stouts. As you walk around the space, you will find a hallway that will lead up to a back seating area, lots of seating option are available depending on the size of your party. As far as parking, its first come first serve, keep an eye of where you park. I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

This was our first stop on the May the Fourth Be With You Pub Crawl, and what a fantastic way to kick off the day! Out of the four stops, this was the only place I hadn't been to before--and it ended up being my favorite. While you're usually supposed to save the best for last, I had no idea this would top the list. I really appreciated that they offered small pours and light bites, which helped us pace ourselves throughout the crawl. We started with one of the day's special brews and an Avocado Musubi. As someone who doesn't eat meat--and who never liked Spam even when I did--I was thrilled to see a vegan take on this classic Hawaiian snack. The bartender was absolutely lovely and super patient with our indecisiveness. It was a beautiful day, so we took advantage of the large outdoor patio, which made the whole experience even better. Binary Brewing was on my list to try for a while and I am so happy I finally made it here... in fact I made two visits here I was so impressed with my first visit. I love the atmosphere here as it is clean and sleek looking with a tech look going on. I just really like how it's all set up here! As far as beers go I have had twice now their Motherboard Milk Stout and immensely enjoyed it both times. With the malty, chocolate and coffee elements at play this beer was so irresistible that I had to get it on both of my visits. But I did also try another one of their beers also and that was the Qwerty IPA and really liked that beer too. This IPA is piney, hoppy, a little bit bready and some tangerine all mixed together to make a well balanced IPA. I loved my beer experiences with Binary Brewing and I'd seize any opportunity I can to try more of their beers and more visits to their location! read more

lots of high points for this place - as someone who often gets homesick, i often seek out new fusion foods that incorporate southeast asian flavors... and this truly hit the spot! i popped in on the last day for portland burger week and was not disappointed. their featured burger was seasoned close to what sai ua sausages or herby/northern thai sausages taste like, given the cambodian influence. i didnt expect it all to taste like it did with the added cheese but it was a flavor explosion that i cant say that i'm mad with. highly recommend their featured burger during portland burger week for anyone who has a high appreciation for lemongrass and herbs :) read more

***HEADS UP*** MidCity Smash Burger is located inside of Binary Brewery. We struggled finding them, but saw their sign hanging out the door to the brewery and found them. Depending on when you go parking can be hard to find. The menu is small and simple which makes it easy to order. I got the deluxe boi, It was delicious, the bun was buttery, and soft. The meat was pressed super thin and was seasoned well and slightly crunchy. The bacon was crunchy and chewy, which is how I like my bacon. Next time I'll order an extra patty on the burger. The other item was a smashy boi. It tasted the same as the deluxe boi except it didn't have bacon. Both burgers tasted yummy when you bite into them and get all the ingredients to mix together. Also ordered were the Mr. James Fries. Per usual, the fries a nothing to brag about. They were fries topped in regular nacho cheese and smash sauce, and tasted well together. We got 2 burger, Mr James fries, and 2 drinks and it all came out to under $30 bucks. That's a bargain. Its unique burger spot along the lines of it offering smashed thin patties. I'm over this way a lot for various reasons and this is a good place to stop in for a burger and a beer. The burgers are absolutely killer. The fries are good and abundant. They are a bit pricey but this is much better than typical saloon fare. They have outside seating which is nice when it's pleasant out. Parking can be iffy but not for me on my Harley. I've parked on the sidewalk practically in their lobby and so far no complaints. There is ample parking nearby if you don't mind walking a block or two. It's a younger crowd but then again I am older than dirt so most anyplace I go the patrons are younger than me. I've dropped in a half dozen times or so. Never had a bad meal or bad service. read more

We stopped through Binary Brewing for a team happy hour. The space was clean, fresh, and inviting. The decor was fun, the beer was crisp, and the snacks were tasty! Binary Brewing has been on my list and was so excited when I finally got to try them out! We got the beer flight and cheese curds. I was really disappointed with the cheese curds since I had a few that didn't have cheese in them. Portion was small to begin with and definitely not worth the price so I don't recommend getting them.. but hoping to try their other food. Loved how much seating there was and how well presented the interior of the restaurant was. I recommend sitting outside since it's nicely decorated with string lights and perfect for the summer time. read more

We recently visited Binary Brewing because we saw they were participating in sandwich week. The brewery has a cool, technology vibe/theme. I ordered the Overclocked Fries, which were delicious. The fries were fresh cut (my favorite!), crispy and flavorful, and they were topped with beer cheese, bacon, crispy shallots, and jalapenos. My husband ordered the Portland Sandwich Week limited time special, which was a crispy chicken sandwich and also cheese curds. He thought the chicken sandwich was good, but he wasn't a fan of the ranch dressing. Binary Brewing is a community centered business that has EARNED that 5th star! We have stopped by a few times in the past year since my last review when they first opened. What we found every visit was a business that was constantly getting better and anchoring itself in downtown Beaverton as a part of the community. From a fun and always changing tap menu with their own beers to partnerships with other local small breweries (Public Coast from Cannon Beach) to round out the bases, Binary has something for everyone. They have also listened to the masses and provided larger portions. Sometimes when I go out for a pint, I'll snack on little bites and appetizers, but more times than not...I'm looking to share a meal with friends. The burgers have gotten bigger and more substantial. The chicken sandos are great! And now the appetizers are now something you can share! Fantastic Onion Rings too! The beer kept us coming back, but now the food is yet another reason to come on back! Lastly, they are engaged with the community. They host regular events and participate in community activities (Burger Week is coming up and they are joining in the foray) as well as special release nights, science nights, and Dungeons and Dragons? The place has character and fun and energy! But perhaps the most impressive element that they bring to the table is their commitment to Beaverton. We have now attended not one, but TWO SOLV 'Pickup for a Pint' events. They are such a legitimate part of this community that once a month they partner with SOLV to help clean up the neighborhood. They gather all the tools (gloves, bags, grabbers, and safety vests) from SOLV and then put us to work picking up everything from cigarette butts to liquor bottles to random pieces of car parts that have fallen off passing vehicles...or crashing vehicles! We have spread out 5 blocks in all directions covering parts of TV Highway, Farmington, and the neighborhood on either side. It has become a bit of a treasure hunt for those of us involved. It has become a 'fun' monthly activity for us and a group of friends to help our community look better! This past weekend we made it as far as the library and helped clean up the blocks in between! Now where Binary's generosity really kicks in is when you get back. Everyone who helps gets a free pint! For the adults in our crowd, it's a cold refreshing beer after 'up to' two hours of cleaning up the neighborhood. For the kids, they have soda...our kids LOVE Stephen's Root Beer from Public Coast Brewing! Thank you, Binary, for giving our family an opportunity to contribute to our community with ease. Thank You for your generosity to this community and your neighbors by helping not only keeping your front clean but also that of Pips, Giovanni's, Beaverton Library, Post Office, Damerow Ford, Motel 6, Beaverton Pharmacy, multiple apartment complexes, and countless other business parking lots that we have cleaned up in both of our recent days working with SOLV. I had an ipa, very tasty, and steak bytes, nicely refreshing (or is that the other way around?). I eat the bytes before I thought of taking a picture. I loved the presentation, peppers, and dipping sauce. All hit the spot on a Saturday Afternoon. The facility is updated, new and renewed, fresh paint, and clean. Medium sized bar room with a sitting room on the other side of the doorway, PLUS, outdoor seating with a large triangle sun shade. The inside is very loud and echoey. Came here with a group of friends for Burger Week. Not too busy despite being on the weekend. Decor is cute and definitely falls into the Electronic/Binary Theme. They have a bunch of burger options that I was tempted to try; but since we were there for Burger week I thought it only made sense to try the special Smash burger. Not a bad smash burger, especially for 8$. 2 patties layered with chilies and onion. Tasted great, but it was small enough that we did end up ordering some buffalo chicken bites to end on. read more

Another review from the Portland Wing week. 6 wings for $8. They had the sweet and spicy sambal boneless bites and I'd say these were the lowest quality wings that I tried from the handful of restaurants that I tried during the wing week. Not only was the chicken very chewy but the sauce was unimpressive. I didn't realize how much I'd dislike sesame on my wings. The kitchen tried to experiment with these wings and in my opinion failed badly. I didn't even finish 2 out of the 6 wings that were served and I *never* waste chicken wings. I'd have given this place a 2/5, the only reason I am bumping up to 2.5/5 and rounding off to 3/5 is because it had a geeky ambiance as the name "Binary" suggests. Delicious beers and great service- it's order at the counter but a very nice woman came outside and asked us if we wanted refills. We came on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy a few brews in the sun. Mellow crowd but it WAS the day after St. Patrick's day. I like the QWERTY the best- balanced and hoppy. We didn't get any food since we'd just had lunch, but I can attest that my son quite enjoyed a root beer float. The only downside? There is construction across the street (even on weekends- ugh), so it wasn't quite the relaxing ambiance we had hoped for. We'll definitely be back! read more

Came here to grab a quick beer. It is mainly street parking. They have good selection of beers that they brew. A lot of them are recommended for pairings with their food options. I got the pulled pork sandwich and cheese curds. Their garlic aioli was great! The staff was very nice and helpful. This place has pretty cool interior and the split flap display board near the entrance is really cool. You don't see a lot of those around. They also have pinball around the corner and a nice patio area, perfect for summer! read more

Found this place thru Nacho Week, and their Stout-Cho's were on my list as one of the places I wanted to try. I got there a little before 9:30 (they closed at 10), and after a couple other experiences, was somewhat prepared for them to tell me the kitchen closed early...so I was pleasantly surprised when not only did they take my order, there was no hesitation, dilemma, or appearance of being put out. The service was awesome, the person working the counter was friendly and my order came out fast! There were a few people in, but I was able to order immediately, and the place has a cool layout. The nachos were great! Added Bacon for an extra $2 (so $10 total) and for what I paid, felt like I got a pretty good deal. There were lots of flavors, I liked the sausage, the cheese had a good flavor, and in the past I've seen places provide a scant amount of food to compensate for the cheaper price, but there was a great amount of food. Everything tasted very fresh, and the fries were the perfect type for the dish. I'd definitely recommend, and I'll come back thru again to get them! read more
