May the Fourth Be With You
Angela P.

This was our first stop on the May the Fourth Be With You Pub Crawl, and what a fantastic way to kick off the day! Out of the four stops, this was the only place I hadn't been to before--and it ended up being my favorite. While you're usually supposed to save the best for last, I had no idea this would top the list. I really appreciated that they offered small pours and light bites, which helped us pace ourselves throughout the crawl. We started with one of the day's special brews and an Avocado Musubi. As someone who doesn't eat meat--and who never liked Spam even when I did--I was thrilled to see a vegan take on this classic Hawaiian snack. The bartender was absolutely lovely and super patient with our indecisiveness. It was a beautiful day, so we took advantage of the large outdoor patio, which made the whole experience even better. A great start to an unforgettable day!

Love the neon like tech decor at Binary Brewing!

Binary Brewing was on my list to try for a while and I am so happy I finally made it here... in fact I made two visits here I was so impressed with my first visit. I love the atmosphere here as it is clean and sleek looking with a tech look going on. I just really like how it's all set up here! As far as beers go I have had twice now their Motherboard Milk Stout and immensely enjoyed it both times. With the malty, chocolate and coffee elements at play this beer was so irresistible that I had to get it on both of my visits. But I did also try another one of their beers also and that was the Qwerty IPA and really liked that beer too. This IPA is piney, hoppy, a little bit bready and some tangerine all mixed together to make a well balanced IPA. I loved my beer experiences with Binary Brewing and I'd seize any opportunity I can to try more of their beers and more visits to their location!

lots of high points for this place - as someone who often gets homesick, i often seek out new fusion foods that incorporate southeast asian flavors... and this truly hit the spot! i popped in on the last day for portland burger week and was not disappointed. their featured burger was seasoned close to what sai ua sausages or herby/northern thai sausages taste like, given the cambodian influence. i didnt expect it all to taste like it did with the added cheese but it was a flavor explosion that i cant say that i'm mad with. highly recommend their featured burger during portland burger week for anyone who has a high appreciation for lemongrass and herbs :)

Loved this place. Food wise I got musubi and they had avocado musubi which was bomb. Service was great, loved the atmosphere and the decor of the brewery. Pretty cool.

***HEADS UP*** MidCity Smash Burger is located inside of Binary Brewery. We struggled finding them, but saw their sign hanging out the door to the brewery and found them. Depending on when you go parking can be hard to find. The menu is small and simple which makes it easy to order. I got the deluxe boi, It was delicious, the bun was buttery, and soft. The meat was pressed super thin and was seasoned well and slightly crunchy. The bacon was crunchy and chewy, which is how I like my bacon. Next time I'll order an extra patty on the burger. The other item was a smashy boi. It tasted the same as the deluxe boi except it didn't have bacon. Both burgers tasted yummy when you bite into them and get all the ingredients to mix together. Also ordered were the Mr. James Fries. Per usual, the fries a nothing to brag about. They were fries topped in regular nacho cheese and smash sauce, and tasted well together. We got 2 burger, Mr James fries, and 2 drinks and it all came out to under $30 bucks. That's a bargain. Its unique burger spot along the lines of it offering smashed thin patties. That seems to be the trend these days. Enjoy!

First of all, thank you for being a place with awesome beer that welcomes children. My kids grew up in NZ where a downtown pub will ask you if you need a high chair when you show up with kids. We came for PDX burger week, stayed for the beer and friendly service. Will definitely be back!

We stopped through Binary Brewing for a team happy hour. The space was clean, fresh, and inviting. The decor was fun, the beer was crisp, and the snacks were tasty! It definitely is a great spot for some afterwork brews and snacks - highly recommend checking it out! We tried lots of snacks (see pics) and I ordered a Kolsch - very good!! Also big fan of the naming choices for the snacks and beers - they really stuck with the theme.

Beer Flight

Binary Brewing has been on my list and was so excited when I finally got to try them out! We got the beer flight and cheese curds. I was really disappointed with the cheese curds since I had a few that didn't have cheese in them. Portion was small to begin with and definitely not worth the price so I don't recommend getting them.. but hoping to try their other food. Loved how much seating there was and how well presented the interior of the restaurant was. I recommend sitting outside since it's nicely decorated with string lights and perfect for the summer time.

Overclocked Fries

We recently visited Binary Brewing because we saw they were participating in sandwich week. The brewery has a cool, technology vibe/theme. I ordered the Overclocked Fries, which were delicious. The fries were fresh cut (my favorite!), crispy and flavorful, and they were topped with beer cheese, bacon, crispy shallots, and jalapenos. My husband ordered the Portland Sandwich Week limited time special, which was a crispy chicken sandwich and also cheese curds. He thought the chicken sandwich was good, but he wasn't a fan of the ranch dressing. Here are some of the pros and cons: Pros: -Cool, technology vibe -Outdoor seating (big patio!) -Food is good, but not great Cons: -Only has beer on tap (but carries cider and wine in a can) -Ranch dressing is heavy on the dill

I had to get in and try the Smashatron burger before they had their menu change at this fun little brewery in Downtown Beaverton. Hubby liked his "Heat sink chicken sando" and we both liked cheese curds. I'm not a beer drinker but hubby is and they had a good variety. The only had a couple ciders but none of them were sweet so I had a can of rootbeer. They have a couple rooms to enjoy your brew and food. Parking is street parking in Downtown Beaverton.

This spot is absolutely adorable! My datacenter engineer husband loved the decor and ambiance. He has already recommended it to his work. I liked all the beers I tried. The food was delicious! It was off the beaten path so not too busy. such a hidden gem!

The dog was topped with their outstanding beer cheese and crispy bacon bits, all served on a pretzel bun that is made in-house; truly, what more do you need? The beer cheese is the absolute star here; in fact, I'm convinced anything on the menu that lists it is really just a beer cheese delivery mechanism! This is a great location in downtown Beaverton with a very friendly staff. The service model is straightforward; you order at the bar and the food is brought out to your table, and then you bus your own dishes afterward. They also have a great selection of craft beer on tap to pair with your meal. We really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and will definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Well, it happens to be Portland Mercury's Weiner Week and Lazy Days has a tasty hot dog special. The "Hop Diggity Dog" special was advertised at our local Beaverton watering hole so we had to come check it out. I naturally ordered a personal pizza. 6" Ricky Ricotta add hot honey is my go to. It's quite busy for a Sunday evening and I'm so happy this business is thriving. The beer cheese here is amazing and we both recommend the beer cheese nachos or the pretzel with beer cheese. At this point it's all about the beer cheese delivery system! I love that there is now some outside seating when the weather is a little better. Cheers!!

The service stood out just as much and was kind, polite, attentive, and lightning fast. Laura Y. made our experience memorable with her professionalism and genuinely positive, spot on attitude. The space has a classy feel with brick walls and dim lighting (which sometimes made it hard to see the details of your dish). There's also a separate hall with three pool tables if you're looking for a more private setting. The food menu is short and well made, featuring a range "we liked" dishes like the Wagyu burger, the Farmboy salad, and Rick Reuben sandwich, where each was sliced and shared. As for the drinks, the menu is the kind you actually sit and explore for a while, so you better know what you want. Overall it's a great spot to enjoy quality food, awesome drinks from all over the world (Czech beers, 40 year old Spanish Porto), and a fun, relaxed time with your friends.

However, 2 hours early the staff shut down the small dining area. Leaving customers packed into an uncozy space. The staff looked stressed and was overtly short on words. Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!
