This was my first return since the name change. My last visit I remember not being particularly impressed, but this time both pizzas we ordered were quite tasty (the supreme and Ricky ricotta). The beer and cider selection is not as extensive as other nearby breweries, but there is a nice curated variety. The wings and salad were solid, about what you'd expect. I believe the sandwiches are a new and welcome addition, bummed I didn't get to try them this time! We stopped in for Portland Mercury's Wiener Week to try their "Hop Diggity Dog" creation, and it was fantastic! The dog was topped with their outstanding beer cheese and crispy bacon bits, all served on a pretzel bun that is made in-house; truly, what more do you need? The beer cheese is the absolute star here; in fact, I'm convinced anything on the menu that lists it is really just a beer cheese delivery mechanism! This is a great location in downtown Beaverton with a very friendly staff. The service model is straightforward; you order at the bar and the food is brought out to your table, and then you bus your own dishes afterward. It was my first time at lazy days brewing! The vegan forager pizza was delicious. It was my first time also trying a Detroit style pizza, and I liked the fluffiness. There wasn't enough truffle for me, so it kind of tasted a bit dry from my perspective with the mushrooms. The pretzel was huge! The hot honey was so yummy! Huge fan of the dip. Perfect level of heat too. I enjoyed the kale salad too. Got the berry cider. It was very busy when we visited on a Friday night. There was also live trivia on the tv. I'm a fan of Lazy Days Brewing. I haven't tried their entire beer menu but I have liked everything I have tried. Originally they took over the Ex Novo locations, and still use some of their beer recipes I believe, but I feel like they've developed their own identity as well. Mainly they do deep dish pizza which is tasty. They host fun events (like the Pitch A Friend one in my photos that has since passed but it's a great concept) and welcome in community groups (like club sports teams). Parking in this area of Beaverton can be tricky but be willing to walk a few blocks and you'll have more options. Order at the bar and get a number. Food will come to you wherever you sit, inside in their booths, bar stools up front, or on their nice street side patio. read more

Paul and I stopped in because my husband is originally from Buffalo New York and has an affinity for a good hot dog. Well, it happens to be Portland Mercury's Weiner Week and Lazy Days has a tasty hot dog special. The "Hop Diggity Dog" special was advertised at our local Beaverton watering hole so we had to come check it out. I naturally ordered a personal pizza. 6" Ricky Ricotta add hot honey is my go to. It's quite busy for a Sunday evening and I'm so happy this business is thriving. The beer cheese here is amazing and we both recommend the beer cheese nachos or the pretzel with beer cheese. A fun chill spot with good games and good drink menu! We stopped in our way back from TopGolf as we waited for traffic to die down to get back home. My husband and I are not beer drinkers so we were pleasantly surprised by the cocktail menu. 10/10 for drinks - paloma slushee and Java the hutt cocktail were both super tasty. Service itself was 6/10 - one person was pretty cold and tbh felt like they wanted to be anywhere else but there and the other was super friendly, attentive, and thorough. Pizza was pretty solid 8/10! I prefer ruse crust collective for Detroit pizza but honestly this one was very good too - just a bit salty for my taste. Don't get me wrong - the beer selection is nicely curated, with good hoppy IPAs, crisp Pilsners and full stouts, along with some interesting rotating options. Ciders, wines and even cocktails are available . It's an overall very chill, casual vibe, and the counter service was fast and friendly. On the other hand, our food was a mixed bag - my meatballs were serviceable but my partner's pizza -- their stock in trade is Detroit style pizza -- came out cold, with a hard crust. Our friend's meatball sandwich was mostly bread and also disappointing. So 50/50 on that point. The bar and counter seating was the place to be, but the back room, where you have a bunch of booths and tables, just felt underwhelming. As you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff. They have a bar top with plenty of seating, or you can enjoy the various seating options within the brew pub. The ambiance is very chill, unlike the large brand name brewery feel. Great for families to individuals. The menu has many options of ( Detroit style) pizza. A large variety of appetizers and salads. We enjoyed the OG, pepperoni, cheese and the Smoking BBQ chicken. Great tasting pizzas, amazing deep dish crust and a lot of toppings, It's great to find a brewery that has great brew with great food options. Lazy Days brewing is the new Ex Novo (or at least, on the same spot). The vibe inside is mostly the same, which I actually think is pretty cool. Some booths and tables, with cool finishes. The one downside is that it can be pretty loud in there. We went for Happy Hour and it was Nacho Week! So we got this kickin' nachos that had sausage, cheese, red pepper, jalapeño, and green onion. Those were very good. We also had some drinks, and I had the NA Hopped Tea - it had good flavor and was very refreshing, I definitely recommend. Lastly, I will say the prices were reasonable for drinks and snacks! These days it feels like everything is $15 or more, but they had some good options under that marker. Turns out, it was formerly Ex Novo (which I tried once and found deafeningly loud), so this was a delightful surprise. This was my first foray into Detroit-style pizza, and I'm officially a convert! The focaccia-like crust was light and airy, a textural dream paired with the generously loaded toppings. We shared the 8" Schmokin' BBQ Chicken, which lived up to its name - flavorful and smoky. Ex Novo continues to impress, no doubt about it in the least. Their beers are so very tasty and they offer unique and experimental brews which is something I am always on the lookout for to try. The most recent beer I had from this brewery was the Septem, categorized as a Wild Ale this beer brought in a great variety of flavors to the table. There were flavor highlights of grapes(and other fruitiness), oak and a tartness that all came together so very well and made a highly enjoyable beer. Nothing about the beer made it too sweet and the balance to it was exceptional. Definitely one of the great breweries of the Portland area. read more

Detroit style pizza?! I have never tried it before. But OMG was it good! It's like a pan pizza. Not so much crust but the sides are sooo crunchy. I ordered a cesar salad and the Buffalo chicken. The server was cool and nice, but messed up my order and instead of Cesar salad, I got cheese bread. My brother thought he was giving it to us on the house or something so we shrugged and shared it. But as time went on and I kept an eye out for my salad, it didn't come and that's when we figured that he didn't remember our order as perfectly as we had thought. Now don't get me wrong. The cheese bread was SO good. But it was almost like another pizza so we got SO full with it that none of us were able to finish the actual pizza we ordered. In addition, we all shared an artichoke dip (see why we couldn't finish our pizzas??) and that was delicious. I tried my brother's Lucky Cat pizza and it was good, but I have to say that the Buffalo chicken was better. I like blue cheese but I don't think it was strong at all in this pizza. read more

Went to Lazy Days this Wed afternoon 3/5/25 and had an enjoyable experience . I like the atmosphere and the beer selection is pretty good . I had a Weller red label shot with a stout ( Oaked) chaser that was to my liking and my son had the Pilsner . I didn't have anything to eat but I've had the deep dish pizza before and I like it . The staff is really nice too ,, your bartender Marcie is very nice and accommodating and and employees like her is what keeps people coming back and yes , I will be back . Lazy Days is no Ex Novo. We came to try a hot dog for hot dog week, we haven't been here since it was Ex Novo. We placed a beer order at the bar tonight with a female bartender who wasn't very friendly, we waited 20 minutes and still didn't have our drinks, we went up to try to figure out what happened, no apologies but made our order as we waited again. The food is fine, but once again the pizza isn't nearly as good as it was before. Going out has become a bit of a luxury, and if you're deciding on a night out I would try one of the other wonderful restaurants nearby instead. read more

I went here for the very first time and was really excited to try their pizza cause I've heard good things. It did not disappoint! It was also my first time trying Detroit style pizza and it was so good. We got the motor city and everything about it was a 10/10. We only dropped by for some drinks and snacks so didn't get to try their famous detroit pizza. But, their beer selection was good and the cocktail prices were decent as well. We shared a plate of the Chicken Buffalo Dip which came in a cute cast iron skillet, piping hot. Eventhough I'm usually not a huge fan of buffalo sauce, I enjoyed the dip and liked how creamy it was. Popped in for pizza and beer post-moving and it was great! The deep dish pizza is delicious and there's lots of interesting/unqiue flavors. Had the cactus sour and BBQ chickne pizza and both were great! All the live plants inside add a lot of personality to the space, but it does feel fairly cavernous and oddly empty despite not being room for more tables. We luckily scooted in right before the rush, but did have a long wait to get both our beer and pizza. Recommend getting a reservation and preparing to wait a bit. read more

Oooh la la, they had an apple cinnamon smash swirly frozen drink thingy that won me over! The beer was good too :) Stopped in and had a drink (fine, I had two) while waiting for my takeout order. Service was friendly and prompt. I sat at the bar. For drinks, I got the black currant cider which was really good, but slightly on the "too sweet" side for me but I also try to not eat or drink sugary stuff. I then also had one of the aforementioned frozen-drink-drinks that I was told changes frequently. It wasn't super sweet. It tasted more like cinnamon and spices than it did of booze or bad decisions. I only wished I could have ordered the second drink in a half size. Getting another full serving of a frozen drink was a lot to consume from a frozen-bev perspective. It wasn't booze heavy or anything, just a lot of slushie to drink. Could have had worse problems. Speaking of problems, I did have a slight issue with my order. I ordered a meatzza pizza, some meatballs, and a large house salad. The hot food came out and I asked where the salad was and after a few minutes, the salad in it's box appears, huzzah. I didn't think to actually open and inspect the food while there. I got home, opened the salad, and saw it was just some greens with a few pieces of pickled onion. I figured maybe I overlooked everything the salad should have had on it, but it felt like a rip off to pay twelve dollars for a box of salad greens, basically. I looked online again at the menu and confirmed it was missing artichoke hearts and Parmesan. Mistakes happen but it would have been cool if someone would have spot checked the food prior to it leaving the pass and coming to me, just didn't leave me with a "WOO" impression. The other issue, granted very minor, is the disjointed information for finding their online menu. I had to click on the website, then click enter website, then I scrolled down to see some drinks and a few apps listed, but I had to then click on order takeout, just to see the full menu that lists more items on it. If you are looking for the full menu be sure to double check which/where you are looking at. Solid pizza that is like a workout chewing it, great brews from the ones I tried, just with some minor quality checks to improve moving forward. I've been an Ex Novo fan for several years! Drink Beer Do Good! This location is great. Had to park a few blocks away, it was a pleasant stroll in a lively part of town. Initially it didn't start off very well, the hostess was so engaged with her friend or whatever we stood there for a few before the bartender came over and helped us. Lucky we ended up sitting in his section & he was great. Food was good, (loved the meatless and gluten free options) drinks were good, bought a jacket I am beyond thrilled to have!
