I had never come for a proper meal before. Just gotten nibbles during happy hour. I will say it pleased on many levels. It's a little tricky for a large group inside. The table positions make parties larger than 8 a little awkward. The staff is attentive and friendly though. Props for that The house made chips are sold. The salt and vinegar chips were oddly sweet but I didn't object to that too much. I got the pastrami. Yummy meat not too greasy. I actually ended up using the mustard sauce that came with the pretzel. That was pretty fantastic. I liked the pretzel. The cheese sauce is very plentiful and deceptively spicy. Too much salt on it though. Maybe I'm just weird for not liking that much salt. Everyone was pleased with what they got. It's a good hangout spot in a not so busy part of town. My husband and I recently went to Flyboy Brewery after a morning of Standup Paddle Boarding. We were looking for a place to grab lunch that had more than just a grab and go option, and Flyboy fit the bill perfectly. The decor is fun and inviting, with an aviator theme. We were starving, so we ordered salt and vinegar chips as an appetizer. For our meals, I ordered the steak sandwich with a salad and my husband got the peanut butter sliders with cajun tots. The salt and vinegar chips were a little crispier than I like for fresh cut and were just okay. The steak sandwich was delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly and were huge chunks (instead of thinly sliced. My husband liked the peanut butter sliders and loved the cajun tots, which he said were better than the ones he's had at McMenamins. For drinks, I got a margarita and my husband got the Blueberry Lemon cider. The margarita was a little sweeter than I like, but still okay when I added a bit of water to it. The Blueberry Lemon cider was excellent! It was tart and sweet, and the perfect way to end our meal. read more

This review has been a long time coming. I am in the area a lot as I do regular willcall pickups at a warehouse nearby. If I have the time I will stop in for lunch or dinner. I guess I've been here a dozen times +/- since they opened (or more accurately, since I discovered the place thanks to Yelp). The inside is a non-descript joint that was put together on the cheap. Ikea type tables and chairs that are probably intentionally uncomfortable so that you will eat up and move out. Since this establishment is Veteran themed, the actual Veteran will recognize that "eat up and move out" is one of the first commands you will hear in boot camp. I see complaints about the wait staff being inattentive although that has not been my experience. Turnover is high at places like this so your dining experience is likely to differ visit to visit. I usually sit at the bar, which is huge. In diners, the old gal who manages the counter tends to be very efficient and all business. The service at the bar here has always been great, cheerful and fast. Odd clientele and I see very few who look like they ever did Military service. More the yuppie crowd....wearing Bermuda shorts in the dead of winter. Not much in common with those cats. There is a collage of license plates that came off of travel trailers on display. I prefer a dive bar that has a wall filled with motorcycle license plates but that's just me. There really isn't much beyond a few wall posters to indicate that it's a biz run by Veterans in service to Veterans. It's more like the FlyBoy theme is mostly a gimmick. As to the food. That's why you are checking this place out, right? Sandwiches are good. Burgers and the Italian grinder. Pizza is decent and fairly priced. But prepared in a gimmicky presented rectangular shape that makes it difficult to eat. Avoid if you are there on a first date with some girl who notices manners and table etiquette. Being a greasy Biker I don't especially care what people nearby think about me. If anything, my table manners encourages them to move away from me a bit. Pass on the fish and chips. Pretty bad. They brew their own beer which is a plus. I try something new each time and so far no disappointments. There's places in the area that I like better but there's nothing wrong with the food, prices or service here. If you look left and right your fellow patrons may not be your type but then again, I have every confidence that none of them will be inviting me for Christmas dinner at their place so it all works out. read more

If you like fun food, a good micro-beer, and a fun environment, FlyBoy is for you. Their head brewer makes quite the variety of beer, plus they showcase other breweries. My favorites are the Tailgunner Stout and the P50 Porter. The food is all american with daily specials that are fun twists on some classics. Recently I had the 2 mini chicago dogs. I'm not a big relish fan but it was so good! I hope it stays on the specials menu a while or they add it to the full menu. They also have their own, awesome version of the crunch wrap. The team has been there a long time, which is an indication of how great the owners are to work for. It's not high end, it's not a dive, it's that perfect balance in the middle where you can have a nice dinner and a good drink in a fun environment. See you there! read more

Ordered: the flyboy angus burger added bacon with Cajun tots light seasoning. $19 The burger was supposed to be cooked med and came out well done so it was dry. The Cajun tots came out lukewarm with caked seasoning but still had a crunch. So why even ask me how I want my burger cooked when your going to make it your way? I thought it was a bit pricey for a burger and tots. I could tell that my food sat at the counter for a bit because everything was almost warm. They had one server for like 15 tables. read more

So I don't like writing reviews likes this. We stopped in here for a meal after not coming for awhile. The service from the wait staff is my main disappointment. We sat down and ordered fish and chips and boneless wings. Everything seemed fine...but after waiting what seemed like the right amount of time to get our food. The waitress came and told us that they were out of the boneless wings. My gage for time is that a couple sat down after us...ordered food...got their food BEFORE we were told they were out of boneless wings. I asked if the fish and chips could come out and was told that they were just starting to work on our order. When I voiced my concern about the other table getting their food already...the waitress rolled her eyes...then offered up some excuse that the kitchen just works the next ticket. Later she offered up another excuse after checking with the kitchen that because that it was a fryer capacity thing since everything we had was fried. I decided to let it go...but the other table had burgers with tots...last I checked tots were fried too. When the food came the fish was a lot smaller than before when we had this in May. Understand it might be the end of the bag or something. At any rate the food is overall still good. My wife and I decided that going forward if we can't sit at the bar where we usually sit and have had nothing but great experience we'll end up leaving. My suspicion is that our order did not get entered when given...and if someone would just admit that I'd be less annoyed. As an aside. Although all this made me NOT want to leave a tip...I did leave the obligatory 15%. I usually have been leaving 18-25% at sit down restaurants. As annoyed as I am by the experience I don't feel good sticking service people. read more

I have no idea how this place got such high reviews. Our server was very nice, that was the only good thing. It took an extremely long time to get food. The food was also awful. Extremely wilted lettuces in the salad, very tough steak. It's honestly a slightly nicer looking dive bar. read more

I can't believe this place is so close to the Bridgeport Village shopping area and we only just now found them. And I was an Aviation Electrician in the Navy, so this proud Vet loved the military aviation theme and all the decor. It's bigger on the inside than we expected (just like the TARDIS, for all my fellow Whovians out there) for being tucked into a little strip mall, and they have some patio seating out front next to the parking. They have a large selection on beers on tap, many of them their own. We were so happy they had a nice variety of brews to choose from because we prefer darker ales and so many places are IPA-heavy right now. We tried a few different ones and enjoyed each of them. We didn't try their food on this first visit, but they have a pretty big menu and look forward to having a meal there in the future. read more

I got a flyer in the mail from FlyBoy so we gave it a try - pretty good! I don't drink beer, but if you do, they certainly have plenty to choose from. We got a late lunch and the place was hopping, even with Covid-spaced seating. I had the Wedge salad with added grilled chicken, and husband had the Bleu Cheese Bacon burger. Both were absolutely HUGE. So you're getting plenty of food for the price. The salad was ridiculously large - 3/4 of a head of iceberg lettuce, piled with blue cheese, pickled red onion, bacon, and some sliced grape tomatoes. I added grilled chicken, not knowing how large this salad was. The chicken was juicy and tender. Could have used a little more bacon, but hey, there was still plenty of food, and I couldn't finish the salad. The burger was super tasty, and also crazy big. My husband took half of it home and reheated it for lunch the next day. I took a bite - yummy! The Cajun tots were just meh. They could have used a bit more spice. Nice to have another option for when we want burgers, and if we're especially hungry, this might be the right place! read more

Went here on a whim after an appointment in the area on a Tuesday evening. Was surprised at how busy it was for a weeknight but crowd was not obnoxious and seemed to be mostly regulars. Beer selection was expansive, employees were super friendly and helpful. Couple of the regulars started conversation with me which I was receptive to and the evening turned into a nice experience. Enjoyed fried pickles with my sampler and got a French Dip to-go which was delicious. Not really into beer, but they were solid. I love Oregon for so many reasons and finding a brewery in most cities is one of them! Staying outside of Portland, I didn't think I'd find as many breweries as I did. We stumbled upon this brewery while staying in Tigard. We visited this brewery before the lunch rush, hence there was no wait. We sat at the bar and chatted with your friendly bartender. Initially, we only wanted a flight but after looking at the menu, we decided to order: Garlic lemon wings The works pizza Wow! I've had quite a few wings but nothing like the wings here! They're perfectly flavored and crispy, I seriously wanted to order more of this! The works pizza was good but I did wish that that cooked it a bit longer. Some of the onions on the pizza were still raw. After taking off some of my onions, the pizza was tasty! Now the beers .. awesome! I enjoyed my flight and the vast choices that were on the menu. My second time here. This is a casual brewery in a strip mall near a hotel that I stay at for work. Parking is plentiful up front which is a plus. I sat up at the bar by myself. Was promptly greeted by Jeremy and had a delicious FlyBoy Hazy IPA within minutes. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, but had it made into a wrap with a side of delicious sweet potato fries. They were out of ranch, so I requested thousand island and burger spread for dipping sauce for my fries. The thousand was better. My wrap was delicious but messy. I had asked for a wet napkin but they don't have any, which surprised me considering people on both sides of me were eating wings. Food was delicious and service is great. I will be back. read more

I don't know why we haven't been coming here since they opened! Yes it's in the middle of a little strip mall but it is awesome! The dining room is open and airy with cool memorabilia. The staff is friendly and quick. They have a large selection of beer, a couple of ciders, Crater Lake Root beer, cocktails and sodas. The menu is a typical brewery menu-apps, salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches and pizzas. But the food that you get is not typical! I had the crispy chicken Cesar wrap- the chicken was very crispy, the lettuce was fresh and the dressing didn't overpower the wrap. He had the chili cheese burger- it was huge and covered the whole plate. The chili was very good and it had just the right amount of cheese and opinions. Did I mention the French fries and tots? So crispy and good with just the right amount of salt and pepper. Like the other reviewers we were surprised how full it was on a Saturday for lunch (given that it is the middle of a business complex). We will definitely be back now that we've found it! read more

Unfortunately this place has really gone downhill. From the moment you walk in service staff is noticeably on their phones, heads down and unaware. Food took forever, order was wrong but the server apologized as she had made the mistakes. Food: Pretzel and fondue used to be the best thing ever... replaced by frozen over baked pretzel and mediocre fondue Kids burger was inedible obviously not fresh meat and now a pressed patty almost if from a school lunch. Child's tots tasted like dirty fry oil. Multiple hairs in the food that I pulled out of my mouth. Nothing was done to compensate for any of the wrong doings. Mind you not busy maybe 6 tables occupied in the place with 3 servers/runners. Do better.... read more
