Really solid experience all around…read more The baked dish was rich and well done--great depth of flavor in the sauce, and the melted top layer added a nice texture without feeling heavy. Comfort food, but clearly made with care. The shrimp dish stood out too. The shrimp were tender and fresh, with a clean flavor that paired well with the tomatoes and light seasoning. Simple, balanced, and executed well. The wine pairing complemented everything nicely without overpowering the food, which I appreciated. What made the biggest impression, though, was the service--especially from the owners. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely engaged without being over the top. You can tell they take pride in what they're doing, and it shows in how they treat their guests. Overall, a place I'd definitely come back to and recommend to others looking for a quality meal in West Linn.

Perfection. The service is incredible, knowledgeable, approachable, genuine and most of all delightful. The food... OMG. THE FOOD! Stunning plates filled with high quality vegetables and soups and cheeses and so much joy. SO. MUCH. JOY. After my first visit I am now a regular and look forward to coming back soon. THANK YOU!

TLDR: If you're in the mood for some comfort food and the single best bbq in all of Oregon don't…read morethink, just come here. (20+ years living in Texas and 4+ years in Oregon trying to find some god damn good bbq). My buddy and I were just traveling through and came across this place. The portions are very big, but the quality of the food will have you willingly putting yourself in a post Thanksgiving food coma. Every sauce is made in house, and the flavor is absolutely immaculate. We ordered the wings (Asian Fire and Passionfruit Habanero), Brisket Sandwich, Cheesesteak Samdwich, and garlic Parmesan fries. Every fry was perfectly crisp. Every piece of brisket was falling apart. My god what an absolutely gem of a find in the middle of no where.

5 Stars Again! An Absolute West Linn Gem…read more 1933 is hands-down my favorite restaurant in West Linn. They have the best beer selection around and the staff is always incredibly friendly, cool, and helpful , the kind of crew that actually makes you want to come back. The food? Easily some of the best in the area. I've had the cheesesteak, brisket tacos, brisket sandwich, all fantastic, but the real showstoppers are their 30-day dry-aged ribeye and dry-aged New York. Seriously next level. Perfect flavor, perfectly cooked, and honestly some of the best meat you'll find anywhere in town. I've eaten at pretty much every restaurant on the main strip, and 1933 is the only one I keep coming back to. It's a true hidden gem in West Linn and absolutely worth checking out. Great owners, they care so much about quality. Extremely thankful for this restaurant!!!!

We sat at the bar and the bartender, Ethan was so pleasant and knowledgeable. He made me an absolutely perfect Sidecar which a lot of bartenders don't know how to make. Then he suggested the blood orange salad with beef tips which was so good, I became enraptured. The world stopped. I was seriously having a mindful eating moment savoring every bite like my mouth was saying, "Wake up! This is how food is SUPPOSED to taste!" Who needs sex when you've got those beef tips? OMG. Afterward my partner and I were basking in the afterglow, " Those were so good." "Yeah they were so good, I'll be thinking about them for the next 3 days." Haha. I need a cigarette.

Food was a good variety, although this place does not have a kids menu (I guess that's my only complaint), but they did offer to do a kids pasta. I had the hand cut pasta special and it tasted fresh and not too heavy. The banana foster dessert was soooo good! Wine was super yummy, I had their version of a sangria and it hit the spot! Not too loud on a Sunday evening. Definitely recommend to try out!

We decided to visit on a Thursday night when they offer a prime rib special. For $31.99, you get an 8oz prime (there's also an option for 16oz) served with a veggie and potatoes. Since this is what we were here for, we all ordered the same dish. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with a glass of sparkling white and brought to our table, which we had reserved. Since I'm a member, we were treated to a free wine tasting flight of two whites and two reds. Hard to pick a favorite as we loved them all! With dinner, we ordered a bottle of the Matis, a red blend from Walla Walla that is on the bolder side. I've had it before, and it's always been one of my favorites. I'm so glad Williamette Valley branches out beyond the Pinots. While they are exceptional, it's nice to have options. Inside, the dining area is decorated tastefully and beautifully with soft lighting throughout. There's a bar area, a fire pit, and several different types of seating areas. I especially like the booth that is in an oversized looking wine barrel. Service was exceptional; attentive while allowing us space. Lots of parking directly out front. Located right off 99 in the same strip as Whole Foods, it's a quick ride from downtown Portland.

It's spacious, with lots of different types of seating options, from tables in the center of the main dining room to booths and a fun little wine barrel-esque 4-top table by the windows. There's also an indoor little fire pit with seating around that by the front window. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot, so that's never been an issue for us. The wines are wonderful, as expected. WVV has expanded its portfolio over the years and includes a nice array of labels so you can get your classic Oregon Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, as well as more robust reds like Tempranillo and Syrah. The bubbles are always a good choice here, and the rosé is usually a crowd pleaser. The menu here is small, but mighty, and the quality of the food has always been top notch, in our experience. On Wednesdays, there's a happy hour menu. On our most recent visit, we loved the tarragon shrimp and the mushrooms. The truffle fries were fine, but tasted more like standard garlic fries and not so much truffle fries. While I love having a wine bar/restaurant like this in this area, the one thing that has been disappointing is that I have noticed the service has gone downhill since it first opened. It's not bad, but it's also not as attentive, warm and welcoming, or knowledgeable (re: the wines) as it once was. So one star was knocked off for the just-okay service, but otherwise, this is a fantastic spot for foodies and wine lovers alike if you are in the Lake O area!
