I've done many trips to Sonoma...Napa...Rioja...etc...and I did not expect to find such a great wine experience in Oregon City. What a wonderful surprise! My husband and I visited this past weekend and were so grateful to have Susanne spend her afternoon with us in their beautiful timber frame tasting room. She had so much to educate us on! The focus here is on unique German white wines + Pinot Noirs, and the grounds are very serene. We ended up purchasing a half case to take back with us to California. I came here after an amazing invitation to visit this winery. My new friend has some wonderful parents who own these vineyards and they make some great wine. They have an amazing tasting room, complete with a wood burning oven, flat screen tv and a great kitchen set up. They have put together an awesome list to taste for seasonal wines and do a great job of explaining them all. All of the wines we tasted were very good. This is a cute winery. The wines are not bad and neither are the prices. The only downfall is they are very slow. There was a lot of waiting between tastings, even when drinking slow. They are very friendly tho and if you have a ton of time to just sit and drink with nowhere you need to get to, check this winery out. They have a really good red blend with a rare grape. If you are a big red drinker, you will want to try it out! read more

This was a very pleasant surprise! We've driven by the turn off to this winery a bunch of times and finally decided to stop in this afternoon! The setting is wonderful. They have a deck that has a beautiful view of the Willamette valley. They have a lot of tables available so even when busy they can accommodate you. The owner is German so my German wife really enjoyed talking in her native language. We sampled the white wines and there was not a single one we did not like! That is the first time that ever happened to us. Usually we find one maybe two that we really don't care for. Not here! We tried 7 different wines and like them all! We purchased 6 bottles and the next time we are in town we are stopping here again. Great place. 1 1/2 miles off 213, and the drive way comes up on you fast! So be looking. A little bit of a blind curve to get in. Once again we did NOT try a single wine we did not like. Fantastic setting and pleasant experience. Treat yourself. Make the trip here! First time out in this area and wanted to check out all the wineries around while my husband went skydiving. Well it was just me and waited 25 minutes for one glass of wine out of 6. Also I'm 28 and look young and seemed they favored the groups over people alone or a couple. Wasn't informative inviting or friendly. Seems this place is older people to enjoy. read more

I can not say enough nice things about Christopher Bridge Winery! My husband and I visited on a rainy and foggy day in September. We were greeted by Suzanne, one of the owners. She is delightful! We also had the opportunity to meet Chris, and he was a great conversationalist as well! What a lovely vineyard they have built for their family. The wine, oh the wine! My husband HATES white wine. But he thoroughly enjoyed not one....but ALL of their white wines. (We even bought a few bottles!) And their Pinot (all of them) were beautiful and lively! They really care about their grapes and it truly shows. Suzanne was nice enough to let us stay well past closing and visit with us. We truly felt welcomed. I am looking forward to bringing a few of my friend this weekend, and maybe attending a pizza night in the future! (Yes they have a pizza oven in the tasting room! Wine and view was great but....... Tasting took forever. Owner was very controlling. She wouldn't let her helper even "help". We bought 4 bottles of wine and the labels had to be put on, hope we got the Pinot that we paid for. No discount on tasting when you buy wine. read more

4.5 overall If the GPS took you down a narrow dirt road you went the wrong way. It's located right off the paved road. We had the pleasure of having the wine maker as our wine steward, and it was very casual and fun. The pours were generous and the stories were entertaining. At the end we even got to try a few again before choosing which one we wanted to purchase (which was very helpful because we went through so many wines...) We sat at the counter although there were table seating around. The wine maker was very friendly, and hung around the whole time, so we didn't have complete freedom to discuss the wine. or have our own conversations so I do suggest sitting at a table. Whites seem to be their specialty, large selection on the tasting list. Even the reds were light and translucent color similar to rose, but still tart and dry as reds are famous for. Some snacks were provided but it would be great if there was a little snack menu to help cleanse the pallets between the wines. read more

A group of six of us stopped off to taste spontaneously after some waterfall hikes. I live in Gladstone and pass along 213 frequently over the year but hadn't been here. We walked into the tasting room and it was busy. There was a friendly dog that greeted us and a cat as well. We were seated at a table some folks were just leaving, right next to a wonderful fireplace. We loved the fireplace! We sat down and the winemaker/owner quickly greeted us and told us about himself then quickly was gone. It was a little bizarre. His wife was busy with others behind the counter. We hadn't even got poured wine yet. Lol. Soon she came over and we started our tasting. We noticed others had food and so I inquired about that. They usually don't but she offered cheese and crackers. It was a $15 tasting but well worth the money. Lots of wine to taste and she only charged minimally for the cheese and crackers. The owner did come back and apologized for disappearing and and promised a bonus pour and told us another story. All their wines are estate. My boyfriend and I, I think, were the more seasoned drinkers, and we liked in particular the 2011 Pinot Gris, Ehrenfelder 2014, and their 2015 reserve Pinot we both liked. The 2014 was really different and Richard preferred that more than I did. They were busy and between each pour took awhile. Some cooks from our group and to leave soon so I had to tell the lady to hurry a little. Normally I think we would have been fine with the leisurely tasting. Richard and I really liked the winery overall, and read about their philosophy on their website. I prefer wineries where the winemaker is present. Speaks well of the place to me. We showed up on a date they weren't open, but they accommodated us anyway (wouldn't suggest this as a regular practice). Chris and Susanne Carlberg were everything you'd want the owners of a small winery to be, engaging, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and unique. We tried varietals we'd never tried before, grown and produced on their property. They engage in every aspect of production. A flight of wines here is reasonable, and an adventure. We loved our time with Susanne and her many stories of living the life of a vintner. We liked Dexter too, but didnt see the cat. read more

This is our absolute favorite winery to visit, and we've been to dozens on both sides of the valley. The wine is incredible! My husband and I are red wine enthusiasts, and Chris creates what we feel is the most delicious pinot noir around. They also offer up a variety of whites that are unique and very well balanced. The owners, Chris and Suzanne, are so friendly and a delight to talk with! Their knowledge is vast and we always come away having learned something new and interesting about wine or the winemaking process. The tasting room is casual and inviting, with a big fireplace, seating areas and a beautiful patio overlooking gardens and the vineyards. The best tasting room around this area. The owners are amazing and treat everyone like family. Awesome Pizza and ever better wine. They have 11 tastings for $15 and wave the tasting when you purchase 1 bottle! The last place we went was $7 for 5 tastings and you had to purchase 2 bottles for a waved tasting... what a joke. A friend and I visited several vineyards in the area last weekend as part of the passport deal. This vineyard was by far my favorite stop of the day, and a contender for the best wine tasting experience I have ever had. A very charming couple greeted us in this cozy tasting room. The minute we got in there we were treated like family. The owners are delightful to talk to, and tell the best stories. I felt as though we were long time friends rather than just meeting. The establishment is the perfect size with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was charming and had a lot of character, while still having quality craftsmanship and elegant design. The tasting was incredible. They have a diverse selection of wines, and really give you a good tour throughout their products. They were not stingy with the pours and offered about 10 tastings (there may have been more, I lost count!). I loved several of them, and opted to buy a couple bottles to take home. Their prices are very reasonable. The Pinot noir selection was superb. Their sparkling rose is one of a kind and has been a huge hit with family already. I wouldn't change a thing. This couple and their incredible wine, welcoming and friendly service, and great ambiance have won me over completely. I will definitely be back! read more

My friend and I were down visiting Oregon from the Seattle area and were on our way back home from Silver Falls when we saw signs for this winery. We spontaneously decided to stop, because you can't drive through Oregon wine country without tasting something local before heading home. It was a wonderful decision - we were welcomed in and given time to taste whichever wines we were interested in, and ended up taking home a couple bottles. Every single wine here is delicious. I've been to plenty of wineries in Oregon, and the only other winery I can say that about it Eyrie. This wine is just as delicious, but much more affordable. The tasting room is cozy and unpretentious, and the winemaker, Chris, is a hoot, with an absolute gift for creating outstanding wines. His wife, Suzanne, is very sweet and lovely as well. The staff and owners are extremely personable and friendly and makes one feel quite comfortable. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves and made for a relaxing afternoon (the owners came out to meet/greet us). The outdoor patio was cool in temperature and quaint in its decoration (checkered table cloth with beautiful blooming dahlias in clear vases). The music playing was also a nice mood enhancer.
