Bell's up is one of our absolute favorites! Such a beautiful family and beautiful winery. We love their wines and highly recommend scheduling a tasting. It will be intimate and affordable you the opportunity to taste some of the great wines that this family vineyard produces. I can't say enough about how much we love Bell's Up, drinking a bottle right now in Lake Havasu AZ. XOXO

Special thanks to Dave, the owner, for a memorable wine tasting experience at Bells Up. He engaged in very interesting conversations about his wine and life in Oregon. Dave is an unpretentious person and was able to explain his wine in a way that I could understand, as I am more of a beer drinker. Now let's talk the wines: Bells Up wines are phenomenal. Top to bottom, the wines are high quality. I could easily say that getting a variety pack of Bells Up wines would be a solid move. My two favorite wines were Rhapsody and Jupiter. Lastly, the Bells Up grounds offer a nice view of the surrounding areas.

You sit 1:1 with the actual winemaker and have a chat about wine, life, business, whatever. It's like sitting down with that one super knowledgeable friend, having a chat and them casually (and not in a weird way) dropping wine and life knowledge on you. Yes, life knowledge. Dave is charming, introspective, and so passionate about his work. Oh, and the wine. THE WINE. I loved the intention behind every wine they create. Each wine is unique, but they are also working hard to create a space in Pinot country to show visitors that Oregon can produce incredible wines from other varietals with the right brains and palate behind it. No easy feat they are accomplishing. If you call and think this place seems exclusive, it's because it is! This is the winery that the "in the know" wine folks make a point to visit.

What a great find! This a boutique winery overflowing with charm and excellent wines. The owners gave a comprehensive tasting packed with fascinating information. They source grapes from their small place and other sites. We really liked the Titan, a Pinot noir named after a Mahler symphony (all their wines relate to music) and the Candide Pinot --both very balanced and with yummy textures and pleasing finishes. They also a very nice Rose, Seyval Blanc and Pinot Blanc. Skip the big commercial wineries and check this out.

We received our wine just in time for Thanksgiving! Dave took personal care with direct communication on our order. Thank you Dave! We're the Bells who noticed the winery name Bell's Up, on Bell Rd while driving around and so of course we put this winery on our list of boutique wineries to visit. For various reasons it took a couple seasons to make it but this last summer we finally booked a tasting. We had so much fun and the wine was wonderful! We were impressed with the the variety of wines grown on the estate which is in part why we chose to join the membership at Bell's Up. 5 months later, we are receiving our first shipment in time for guest this holiday season. Cheers!

An experience at a winery can make all the difference as to whether you care or not about the wine. One visit to meet Dave and Sarah and Bells Up and you will fall in love. I'm talking full on dopamine flowing and giddiness because these folks tell a great story, and take you on their journey right along with them. So you're rooting for this winery... you're impressed with the fact that they uprooted themselves from their mid-western lives, quitting "real" jobs to take a flyer on a dream and moving to this stunning valley to make it happen. And there it is, manifested in front of you...in their happy faces, in your glass... and you FEEL it. Get me a T-shirt!!! I'm a believer!!! The wines are great...fantastic even...with a selection of wonderful varietals and blends that you'd expect in the Willamette Valley, yet somehow, richer, fuller, more interesting. These wonderful wines are a glorious sum of their parts.... passion, determination, expertise, interest, fun, struggle, determination, hope, joy and love...for the love the wine and the sharing it inspires. Really good stuff. Visit Bells Up!!! For this is what dreams are made of.

Bells up was our first stop on our trip the the willamette valley, and I'm so glad we went! Visits are by appointment only, which results in a private sit down tasting with the winemaker himself. First, the property is beautiful. Second, Dave is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the winemaking process, not to mention he makes delicious wines! We asked a million questions about his journey to where the business is today and he happily answered them all. I loved his focus on small business- not just his own, but the others he works with as well. Third, the wines were fantastic! We had trouble narrowing down which ones to purchase. This was the most personal tasting we had- I highly encourage coming here if you want a personal experience with someone who will know all the answers to your questions.

Oh my gosh, I had one of the best experiences at Bells Up Winery. I went with my mom, boyfriend, and his mom on Mother's Day. It is appointment only and there is only one appointment per time slot, so you're getting a private tasting no matter when you go. Dave -- who is the owner and wine maker -- is so personable and super knowledgeable and really made the tasting experience that much better. This is great if you want to learn more about wine or if you're just super nerdy about wine -- like us. We tasted five wines: a white, a rose, and 3 reds. All were tasty. And I was impressed by the rose, considering some of them can taste like water, but this one had a nice depth of flavor while also being lite and fun. But the stand out was their Titan Pinot Noir. So lovely! Great body, nose and color. Not a typical Pinot for the region, in my opinion. Also, they don't offer the standard "all we offer for reds is Pinot noir." They had a great Syrah! That was my mom's favorite and she bought a bottle. If you like a fantastic view with your wine tasting too, then look no further! Bells Up has that! Please give this amazing, small, family owned winery a try the next time you're looking for a place to go. You will have a fantastic experience, that you don't often get. Thanks, Bells Up! We will definitely be back soon.

The staff was polite, welcoming, and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. The experience was like going into a nice home, next to a vineyard, for wine and cheese. Lovely atmosphere. Our group of eight had a Saturday afternoon reservation. We arrived and were seated before 12:30pm and left by around 1:45pm. This did not appear to be a big operation. During our visit, I saw only two lady employees tending to all the customers. Rain Dance has indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside. Regardless of where you sit, there are good views of the property's vineyard and garden. It's beautiful and serene. Shortly after our tasting began, a bachelorette party left. Therefore, we had the inside all to ourselves save for a couple seated by the window. The weather was pleasant so several doors to the house were left open, creating a calm, gentle breeze. We had the wines listed below. Individual bottle prices are from the time of our tasting and descriptions are from Rain Dance's website at the time of writing this review ( https://raindancevineyards.com/shop/ ). * 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "Classic aromas and flavors of stone fruit and tropical flowers are lifted by vibrant acidity on the palate. This drier-style Riesling allows for so much versatility at the dinner table, but fish dishes are our favorites." * 2023 Grand Oak Gewurztraminer. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "A Rain Dance favorite! Gewurztraminer is a rare find in Oregon, especially in such a dry style. Its lively notes of jasmine, peach and spice box are perfect for Asian and Indian dishes loaded with their own exotic spices." * 2022 Estate Pinot Noir Cuvee. $45 for 750-mL bottle. "Fresh notes of cherries, pomegranate, plums, black pepper, pipe tobacco, and cinnamon." * 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir. $60 for 750-mL bottle. "Bright and fresh with a complex assortment of dark cherries, raspberries, cranberries, intermingled with thyme, sage, and cinnamon." Since the time of our visit, I think the 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling and the 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir have been replaced by 2023 and 2022 vintages, respectively. We also had at least two charcuterie boards ($35 each) that included crackers, roasted hazelnuts, onion jam, pork rillettes, raisins, and three kinds of cheese. The total cost for our group for everything was $336, which worked out to $42 per person. While I've been to a lot of wineries/vineyards and done a lot of wine tastings (just search my reviews), I'm still by no means a wine connoisseur. All I can say about Rain Dance is I thought all of the wines were enjoyable. All four, from the riesling to the pinot noirs, were delectable. They smelled and tasted well made and high quality. In short, I enjoyed our visit to Rain Dance and thought it was worth the visit. Rain Dance Vineyards is named after owners and founders Celia and Ken Austin's Rain Dance Ranch. The ranch was established in 1991 and the vineyard was established in 2009.

Husband and wife founders and owners Jim and Stephanie Houchins are nothing short of fantastic. The wines we tasted were excellent. After meeting Jim and Stephanie, I could really see the passion they had for wine and their vineyard. Oliver Springs is truly a labor of love for them. According to their website ( https://oliverspringsvineyard.com/ ), their first vintage year was 2016 and they "are currently producing approximately 300 cases a year, making [them] a micro-boutique winery." Our tasting consisted of the following wines: * 2021 Chardonnay * 2019 Estate Pinot Noir * 2021 Estate Pinot Noir * 2019 Kieta's Block Pinot Noir * 2019 Sasha's Block Pinot Noir The tasting, regularly $25 per person, included a sheet with tasting notes. Stephanie conducted the tasting and Jim assisted. Jim also took us on an educational and informative tour of the vineyard. Oliver Springs has multiple grape clones, which are cut and grafted from the same mother vines. I'm no wine expert/connoisseur, but I believe the general thought is clones produce more consistent, higher-quality wines. The Kieta and Sasha Block Pinot Noirs were named after two of Jim and Stephanie's huskies. A third husky, Mosey (Mozzie? I'm not sure how to spell it.), joined us for our tasting and vineyard tour, which added to the experience. :) Oliver Springs is a small operation. I believe the vineyard is only about 3.5 acres. I know it's not Stephanie's full-time job and I guess probably not for Jim either. They're open on weekends by appointment only. Our group of eight visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. We left shortly after 12:00pm. They have a relatively small, simple, clean, and modern building with a tasting room inside. Unlike many other wineries, this one provides an intimate, get-to-know-the-owners type wine-tasting experience. Several of us ended up ordering wine afterwards. The wine cost anywhere from $42 to $50 per bottle. As is customary, they have wine clubs you can join as well. See my pictures or contact them for more info.
