This is a wonderful place to wine taste. The grounds are so pretty. Maria was our server and she is so sweet. They do have some snacks to purchase as well. We feel that an excellent wine tasting trip is 90% the way you are treated and the overall experience. There was another young man who interacted with us as well that was very nice and pointed us to other wineries along our route. We did enjoy their wines very much and picked up a few bottles. We had a good wine tasting at Rain Dance Vineyards in Newburg, Oregon. Rain Dance was one of a few wineries that we selected for our Willamette Valley wine tour (Oregon Wine Country). The staff was polite, welcoming, and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. The experience was like going into a nice home, next to a vineyard, for wine and cheese. Lovely atmosphere. Our group of eight had a Saturday afternoon reservation. We arrived and were seated before 12:30pm and left by around 1:45pm. This did not appear to be a big operation. During our visit, I saw only two lady employees tending to all the customers. Rain Dance has indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside. Regardless of where you sit, there are good views of the property's vineyard and garden. It's beautiful and serene. Shortly after our tasting began, a bachelorette party left. Therefore, we had the inside all to ourselves save for a couple seated by the window. The weather was pleasant so several doors to the house were left open, creating a calm, gentle breeze. We had the wines listed below. Individual bottle prices are from the time of our tasting and descriptions are from Rain Dance's website at the time of writing this review ( https://raindancevineyards.com/shop/ ). * 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "Classic aromas and flavors of stone fruit and tropical flowers are lifted by vibrant acidity on the palate. This drier-style Riesling allows for so much versatility at the dinner table, but fish dishes are our favorites." * 2023 Grand Oak Gewurztraminer. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "A Rain Dance favorite! Gewurztraminer is a rare find in Oregon, especially in such a dry style. Its lively notes of jasmine, peach and spice box are perfect for Asian and Indian dishes loaded with their own exotic spices." * 2022 Estate Pinot Noir Cuvee. $45 for 750-mL bottle. "Fresh notes of cherries, pomegranate, plums, black pepper, pipe tobacco, and cinnamon." * 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir. $60 for 750-mL bottle. "Bright and fresh with a complex assortment of dark cherries, raspberries, cranberries, intermingled with thyme, sage, and cinnamon." Since the time of our visit, I think the 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling and the 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir have been replaced by 2023 and 2022 vintages, respectively. We also had at least two charcuterie boards ($35 each) that included crackers, roasted hazelnuts, onion jam, pork rillettes, raisins, and three kinds of cheese. The total cost for our group for everything was $336, which worked out to $42 per person. While I've been to a lot of wineries/vineyards and done a lot of wine tastings (just search my reviews), I'm still by no means a wine connoisseur. All I can say about Rain Dance is I thought all of the wines were enjoyable. All four, from the riesling to the pinot noirs, were delectable. They smelled and tasted well made and high quality. In short, I enjoyed our visit to Rain Dance and thought it was worth the visit. Rain Dance Vineyards is named after owners and founders Celia and Ken Austin's Rain Dance Ranch. We dropped in for a wine tasting on Saturday evening. Even though they were fairy busy Noah got us in a right away. The wine was delicious with several different varieties. Price points were very reasonable. Ken the owner even stopped by and said hi telling us about the history of the winery which added a special touch. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

Really beautiful tasting room, looks like an older house that has been converted, but done very nicely, definitely on the posh side. Nice views, looking down on the hills, a couple of llamas on the grounds you can check out. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, no complaints there. Wines were enjoyable! Tasting run 35 dollars a person, which we didn't realize until we arrived and Googled to see that this price is about average for the area. This was our first and only wine tasting visiting the area, and it was nice. But not realizing the high price my wife and I just split a tasting, and a small snack to go with, although the do have charcuterie boards available. read more

We had a lovely visit here and did end up buying a delicious Riesling, a Gamay and a Pinot Noir. The lady who did our tasting was informative and very helpful. Told us about the history of the place and about the llamas. It would be fun to do an event here as the views are amazing. Would have liked a wider variety of wines to try. We tried 4 Pinot Noirs and one Chardonnay on the tasting menu but ended up buying 2 that weren't on the tasting menu. The llamas are adorable! read more

Wine was good but service is off putting. They get overwhelmed easily and didn't seem to care about our business or any hospitality. But the good thing about the slow service is that we got to enjoy the ambiance, which was nice. Will be returning to Argyle. read more

Service here was excellent, you can tell that she loves doing what she does. Often times a sit down tasting you're hearing so much about the life of the person pouring your wine or about the bottle that you can't really enjoy the wine or the company you're with - this was not that. Our host did an amazing job of balancing our experience and showing so much passion behind what she does. The cheese selection was excellent and overall ambiance was great - the music was perfect for the kind of day you imagine spending at a winery tasting room. This place is incredible! The wines are fantastic and they have a well-rounded tasting. We were able to try a rosé, a few whites and a few pinots. They even did some side by side tastings for the sane varietal in different years or vineyards, which I love! Some standout wines were the Gewürztraminer (which I normally don't prefer but there's was semi dry), the 2020 Riesling, the estate Chardonnay, and the Pinot. The service was so friendly. We were even half hour late due to traffic and they didn't rush us or anything. They gave us generous pours and the wines were very well priced between $25-$50. Would definitely return. read more

Came here after visiting Stoller Winery -- and can I say their wine is super flavorful and delicious?! The Riesling, Rose, Chardonnay, and the Pinot -- all really tasty! Good body, complex, and really pleasant! There are also llamas outside you can watch as you enjoy the tasting ($15/person) - they are so entertaining/calming to watch! And there seemed to be real baby birds inside the little bird house hanging from the free outside! Also, the staff that helped with our tasting was so knowledgeable and super friendly (unfortunately, didn't catch his name); appreciated him sharing his knowledge with us! The wines are reasonably priced and high quality. Would highly recommend stopping by! read more

Rain Dance was our first stop and first winery we'd been to in Oregon. Of all the wineries we went to in the following days we found ourselves comparing them to Rain Dance in both wine and venue. The view at the new location is superb. We loved sitting on the patio looking out over the valley. Carl was taking care of us and spent a lot of time explaining the wines and history. The owner also took the time to stop by to chat which was much appreciated. The wine was very good and we ended up buying several bottles and wishing we had bought more. I really enjoyed this experience, a beautiful warm sunny day, sitting outside tasting wine. Plus, llamas! First we fed the llamas, a dose of hand sanitizer, then we drank the wine. Absolutely loved our visit! We had intended originally to visit Arborbrook winery, about 5 miles away because of their tasting special yelp check-in offer for 2 free tastings. I have always been a fan of Arborbrook winery, and I try to visit there about at least once a year. If you are in the area, and have the time....I would recommend them too as a second stop. We were making our trip out there when my parents and I stumbled upon Rain Dance vineyard. I had gone on a lavender tour last week with a small group of my girl friends. We also drove by, and it looked like they were having an art show, which piqued my interest. During that weekend though, I had planned that day out and me and my friends and I had a set schedule, (but in the back of my mind I was intrigued by this bright colored red building off the beaten path). Seeing Raindance again, I encouraged my parents to stop. To my pleasant surprise, it was not just a vineyard tasting room, but also a spectacular gift shop and llama farm too. They had wine and Llama themed gifts available. They also had soaps, matchbooks, jams, lavender lotions, keychains, and jewelry. Wine tastings we're $15 and $20 flights, but they let us try the rose and reisling for free. We ended up buying a bottle of reisling and spending at least an hour just relaxing in their spacious sunroom and patio. They even provided a plate of waffer cookies for us and food to feed the llamas. It felt so relaxing and good. The wine bottle was only $22 and it was a solid to good reisling. We absolutely loved spending the afternoon feeling like new guests in an enchanted hideaway. Staff were very pleasant and kind. We Loved hearing stories about the llamas and the wine. This is a Very fun place for a visit. So glad we stopped. I made some new llama friends. I don't encourage bringing kids to wineries, but this place was so delightful with the gift gallery and llamas outside that I would recommend it to be pretty kid/family friendly too. Well done! I can't believe I'm the first to review this welcoming charming place. This is what its all about in experiencing a place you just meander upon when you see a sign. We were coming down from wine tasting and saw their sign. The ladies were so sweet and willing to chat. They had samples of tea (hot & cold) - I love hot tea so I had some. They had jam, sauces and toffee too. Toffee was dangerously good. They carry the a lot of the Victoria lavender line - I purchased a tin of the lavender earl grey. They had wonderful candles, lotions, oils, etc. All kinds of things to shop around for. They had a wine tasting corner of their wine. We had already wine tasted so we didn't try. Throughout the store I heard some wonderful piano and guitar music. I purchased 2 CD's out of the mist piano and a guitar one to remember my time visiting Oregon. I saved the best for last as they are a llama farm. If you go outside, you can meet their llamas to feed and pet. They are very sweet in nature and face. There are places to chill out - inside and out. So sit a spell and truly enjoy the place. read more

I just happened upon this tasting room after visiting the Allison. Location is easy to find and is a great option if you want to stay close into town enjoy a great glass of wine. This is also a great stop if you need to pick up a gift for someone as they had plenty of unique gifts. If you have kids with you they will love feeding the llamas that are next to the patio. The lady helping us was very nice, I didn't happen to catch her name but she is from Australia so you will know it's her when you speak to her. This is not a vineyard with stunning views but still a great option close into town with great wine. read more

I loved this place. I went there with girlfriend since we were at The Allison anyway and I needed to find a Birthday gift. We sat outside and drank some wine and I found some good gifts too! I bought a candle, only I loved it so much I kept it for myself. I have been to several wineries in the area and there are so many good ones with gorgeous views. Rain Dance is something special and different that no other wineries in the area are like. I had a kick of a time feeding the llamas and just hanging on the patio. It didn't feel pretentious at all. They aren't trying to be another Stoller or Sokol so they shouldn't be compared to that. Their wines are just as good though! Definitely worth a stop. read more
