One of the first wineries that we ran into as we drove into the Valley from Portland. Gorgeous facility, great staff and overall good wine. Ordered the hubby the caviar and chips to snack on while we sipped on our tasting. Recommend this place! Beautiful views from their facilities for sure!

Outstanding Tasting Room Experience at Rex Hill. Our host was on top of our time with being present just enough so we could enjoy our time with friends. I worked in the wine business for nearly a decade but this was my first visit here and really enjoyed the facility, wines and staff. They also make AtoZ onsite and were just purchased by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.

Joan made our experience 5 stars! She treated us like we were guests in her home not just customers. She was very knowledgeable about their wine and was lovely to talk to. Their flights cost $25 which is well worth what they deliver. The tasting room is beautiful. Definitely recommend.

RHV is the epitome of why I like to venture out while traveling for work. As a recommendation, my friend and I visited RHV thinking it would be another winery with decent wines and good way to spend some down time. When we walked into the tasting room it was set in an old cellar like room with a round table in the middle. The table was set with dozens of glasses filled with an array of spices and herbs to smell. As odd as it sounds, it was a pretty neat experience and you could easily correlate the scents to the wines. Now to the good stuff...wine. RHV has two tasting menus, an "every day" list of wines and a "reserve" list. The "every day" list is $15-$20 for about six wines and the reserve is $30 for three (I think) wines. You can tell how much I "sampled" by the fogginess of the details I remember. They also have some munchies and a nice charcuterie board for purchase too. I cannot speak highly enough about some of their Pinot Noirs. They have some very complex wines at both higher end prices ($328 for a magnum bottle of their 2000 PN) and some more affordable prices ($~50 for a 2018 PN). The 2000 PN we sampled was probably one of the best wines I've ever tasted. I bought several bottles of the newer vintage in hopes it'll age as well as what we sampled. I am a RHW fan, for sure!

I was very pleased with the quality of their wine and the attentive salesperson, Whitney, who answered all of our questions patiently. We tried 4 different wines in the wine flight which came down to only $7.50 with the Yelp 50% off discount. The Chardonnay and their Pinot Noir reserve were our favorites. We are not fans of Chardonnays but this one was light, smooth, and didn't leave that buttery after-taste of most Chardonnays. The last Pinot in the list was the best in my opinion. Very unique flavors. Their vineyards/gardens had an European feel to it. They had some large picnic tables also, so definitely a place to sit and enjoy a bit with a scenic view.

We had a wonderful day at Rex Hill - just happened upon as we were taking a drive. It is a gorgeous place and wonderful service and tasting. Ended up joining the VIP wine club and bringing home some wonderful wines too. The food was very good and thank you to Doug who was a wonderful host!

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon sipping on wine here at Rex Hill Vineyards. Their tasting room has a nice and cozy cabin feel to it while also looking chic and elegant. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and flavor profiles. Our server was able to talk us through a few bottles and gave us her recommendations based on what we were looking for. Overall, such a great place for a relaxing experience with good snacks and wine!

We visited this winery in January and had an amazing experience. The wine is incredible, you can taste every note! We also had the charcuterie board and it paired really well with the wine. Joan took care of us, she was so sweet, accommodating and hospitable. She thoroughly explained to us every wine, how and why it was made, and all about the owners of the winery. She really took her time and was patient with us. I can tell she genuinely loves what she does and loves this winery. Thank you for everything, Joan! We will be back!

I don't recall ever having been to this winery, but I know I've had their wine. They've completely remodeled, so even if you've been here before it might be worth it to check out the renovations. We came out here because it was my best friend's birthday and this is what she wanted to do, so of course we were happy to bring her out here. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation (I miss the days when you didn't need one) so we checked out the lovely outdoor area. Once inside you can see how beautiful it is. They had a nice selection of wines to taste that day and I'm assuming it's always a good variety. You pay a deposit for your reservation that gets applied to your tasting fees. It's $25 per person, which I think is extremely expensive, maybe $10 would be more appropriate. Up until covid I could go to a winery and me and my partner could both just walk in and as long as I bought a bottle the tasting fees were waived for both. Not sure if it's only this place, but looking online I think a lot of wineries have changed how they operate. It's not even just buy a bottle per person to get it waived, so be prepared for an expensive time TBH. Not impressed with their food selection, very limited. It felt like they knew they were charging too much so they were trying to make it more of an "experience" to reason the cost. I doubt many people care exactly where all the types of wood etc came from for the remodel. Just sayin. They really do need to cut it down to under one hour. An hour and a half is just too long. I prefer getting a little info on the wine and being left to taste it. I'm not used to spending more than about 30 minutes tasting. Of course you can buy wine to waive the fees, which I did. Better to buy a case of wine then spend $100 plus tip for 5 small tastes of wine for 4 people. So I made my wine selections so I could send my bestie off with a birthday present of half a case of wine (I'm not CRAZY, I kept half of it). Our sommelier was really friendly and definitely giving his best effort. It was mostly good, but if this is what wineries are doing these days I think I'll be passing for the most part.

The staff was polite, welcoming, and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. The experience was like going into a nice home, next to a vineyard, for wine and cheese. Lovely atmosphere. Our group of eight had a Saturday afternoon reservation. We arrived and were seated before 12:30pm and left by around 1:45pm. This did not appear to be a big operation. During our visit, I saw only two lady employees tending to all the customers. Rain Dance has indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside. Regardless of where you sit, there are good views of the property's vineyard and garden. It's beautiful and serene. Shortly after our tasting began, a bachelorette party left. Therefore, we had the inside all to ourselves save for a couple seated by the window. The weather was pleasant so several doors to the house were left open, creating a calm, gentle breeze. We had the wines listed below. Individual bottle prices are from the time of our tasting and descriptions are from Rain Dance's website at the time of writing this review ( https://raindancevineyards.com/shop/ ). * 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "Classic aromas and flavors of stone fruit and tropical flowers are lifted by vibrant acidity on the palate. This drier-style Riesling allows for so much versatility at the dinner table, but fish dishes are our favorites." * 2023 Grand Oak Gewurztraminer. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "A Rain Dance favorite! Gewurztraminer is a rare find in Oregon, especially in such a dry style. Its lively notes of jasmine, peach and spice box are perfect for Asian and Indian dishes loaded with their own exotic spices." * 2022 Estate Pinot Noir Cuvee. $45 for 750-mL bottle. "Fresh notes of cherries, pomegranate, plums, black pepper, pipe tobacco, and cinnamon." * 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir. $60 for 750-mL bottle. "Bright and fresh with a complex assortment of dark cherries, raspberries, cranberries, intermingled with thyme, sage, and cinnamon." Since the time of our visit, I think the 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling and the 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir have been replaced by 2023 and 2022 vintages, respectively. We also had at least two charcuterie boards ($35 each) that included crackers, roasted hazelnuts, onion jam, pork rillettes, raisins, and three kinds of cheese. The total cost for our group for everything was $336, which worked out to $42 per person. While I've been to a lot of wineries/vineyards and done a lot of wine tastings (just search my reviews), I'm still by no means a wine connoisseur. All I can say about Rain Dance is I thought all of the wines were enjoyable. All four, from the riesling to the pinot noirs, were delectable. They smelled and tasted well made and high quality. In short, I enjoyed our visit to Rain Dance and thought it was worth the visit. Rain Dance Vineyards is named after owners and founders Celia and Ken Austin's Rain Dance Ranch. The ranch was established in 1991 and the vineyard was established in 2009.

Husband and wife founders and owners Jim and Stephanie Houchins are nothing short of fantastic. The wines we tasted were excellent. After meeting Jim and Stephanie, I could really see the passion they had for wine and their vineyard. Oliver Springs is truly a labor of love for them. According to their website ( https://oliverspringsvineyard.com/ ), their first vintage year was 2016 and they "are currently producing approximately 300 cases a year, making [them] a micro-boutique winery." Our tasting consisted of the following wines: * 2021 Chardonnay * 2019 Estate Pinot Noir * 2021 Estate Pinot Noir * 2019 Kieta's Block Pinot Noir * 2019 Sasha's Block Pinot Noir The tasting, regularly $25 per person, included a sheet with tasting notes. Stephanie conducted the tasting and Jim assisted. Jim also took us on an educational and informative tour of the vineyard. Oliver Springs has multiple grape clones, which are cut and grafted from the same mother vines. I'm no wine expert/connoisseur, but I believe the general thought is clones produce more consistent, higher-quality wines. The Kieta and Sasha Block Pinot Noirs were named after two of Jim and Stephanie's huskies. A third husky, Mosey (Mozzie? I'm not sure how to spell it.), joined us for our tasting and vineyard tour, which added to the experience. :) Oliver Springs is a small operation. I believe the vineyard is only about 3.5 acres. I know it's not Stephanie's full-time job and I guess probably not for Jim either. They're open on weekends by appointment only. Our group of eight visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. We left shortly after 12:00pm. They have a relatively small, simple, clean, and modern building with a tasting room inside. Unlike many other wineries, this one provides an intimate, get-to-know-the-owners type wine-tasting experience. Several of us ended up ordering wine afterwards. The wine cost anywhere from $42 to $50 per bottle. As is customary, they have wine clubs you can join as well. See my pictures or contact them for more info.
