From the minute you walk in and they hand you a glass of sparkling white, you feel so welcomed and the impeccable service continues throughout your visit. We sat inside in a rainy Sunday, and the environment was lovely. We all did the tasting which started with whites then continued with three Pinots. Willamette Valley is definitely for Pinots lovers, and Adelsheim has several really good ones. My preference is for bolder reds so the server poured me a taste of their Syrah. Immediately I knew i was buying a bottle! We also ordered the charcuterie which was a lovely spread of cheeses, meats, nuts, jam And crackers. We made a meal out of it! Adelsheim is pet friendly, and that includes cats. Yes, you heard me right! My friend is a member specifically because they allow cats, which very few places do, usually just dogs. I can definitely understand why, and I was concerned if anyone showed up with dogs that weren't cat friendly, there could be problems. But all went smoothly. The cats were on leashe, sat on chairs like they were part of the tasting experience. the owners and other guests kept coming by to pet them as it's clearly a novelty. And these British shorthair kitties are beautiful and have the most expressive eyes. It was a fun day of delicious wine, a lovely charcuterie, and cats! Although the service was good, it felt quite corporate, like it was less about the wine and more about selling me on products or selling me on the wine club. The venue felt like like most wineries and perhaps wasn't as unique or local as we had hoped. The wines were fine. I have been wanting to try this winery for a very long time. The tastings are not cheap, starting at $40, but I had a club share and thought it was time to see what the hype was. The wine tasting experience at Adelsheim felt like a visit with old friends. Our wine concierge Pablo made us feel so welcome and we learned a lot about the wine making process. He was both fun and informative. They have a beautiful garden, which they allow guests to walk through. They have a diverse wine lineup on the tasting menu, but it is heavy on chardonnay and Pinot noir. The charcuterie board was a great addition to the tasting. This was our second stop on our wine trail vacation and it came highly recommended. We were very excited to try Adelsheim, but unfortunately the overall experience fell flat and the price was crazy for the pour quality. First, because we were excited and because I needed to get tastings scheduled at all the wineries, I kept waiting for them to release their September schedule to make a reservation. It took just a few weeks prior to Sept for them to open up for reservations, but that was ok - I got it booked. Trying to enter was a disaster because they were harvesting (which is exciting, but please mark HOW to get into the building) and the sign was turned backward at the main entrance making it appear they weren't open. I took a walk and we finally figured it out after a phone call. Upon entering other guests were greeted with a taster of sparkling wine... but not us. We were led outside to a 6 top, despite there being two of us, which made things not-so-intimate. Note the outside isn't handicap accessible and we had a stroller we had to figure out how to carry. If it actually is, we weren't offered an alternative way outside. Indoors looked a bit dated, so it was nice to go outside and see the view. The tastings were SO SMALL, like less than I would typically take as a sip of wine. I will give it to the staff member, they were consistent in their pours. They would talk about the wine, we would take our sip (clearly our glass was empty before she was done talking) and she would say "enjoy! I'll be back with the next pour!" We laughed after she left at the fact we had nothing to enjoy. After the second time this happened I broke my small sip into two even tinier sips. She queried what we liked best and we explained it was hard to tell because we hardly could taste the wine (couldn't roll it around, take another sip, smell it, pair it with food, etc.). I was SHOCKED we were charged $90/$45each for that "tasting." In total, the five wines did not even equal a half of a glass. It's offensive to ask a customer pay that - it seriously appeared that we split a tasting (if that's even a thing?). I'm so confused. I've traveled all over wine regions in the USA - this is by far not my first tasting and I am fine paying that if I actually get a real tasting, but this was offensive. read more

My husband and I walked in for a tasting one day. It was a spur of the moment thing and we loved it so much we became members! The wine is delicious! If it's your first time, get the $40 tasting of all he wines. You won't regret it! The wi wet, tasting room and outdoor spaces are amazing!! We took some friends there a few months later and we spent 3 hrs there- sipping the wine, having charcuterie and walking the grounds! The staff is wonderful! We had the pleasure of having Bradley serve us and he was great! He was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing information about the vineyard! And then we met Pablo! I want to start off this review by noting the people who are saying this winery is "discriminatory" are (I believe) talking about how you must be vaccinated to enter. I don't believe these people know what discrimination means, but I digress... This winery is nestled in the Chehalem Mountains and is the oldest winery in that area. We learned that fact from our INCREDIBLE host Sarah who blew us away with her knowledge about the winery and the wine itself. She was also the perfect blend (no pun intended!) of dropping knowledge on us and giving us space to enjoy ourselves. The winery itself is beautiful, with a very comfortable and beautiful interior and then a great patio overlooking their vineyards. We went on a drizzly day so we sat inside, but we are definitely going to come back for some outdoor sipping. There's also nothing pretentious about this winery - it's a very inviting atmosphere. We had a standard wine flight and agreed that the wine just kept getting better and better as we went along. The wine with a volcanic soil was out of this world! The best part is that we learned they rotate their flight selection monthly, so you could come here fairly regularly and get a different experience each time. I felt the price matched the quality. There were also a couple other little touches that really show how much they value their visitors: - Had the LGBTQ+ Progress sticker on their front door - Free tampons and pads in the bathrooms - you ladies know how big of a deal that is! Stopped by this winery while in the Willamette Valley. We made a reservation and it was our first winery stop of the trip. They check for your vaccine cards- they also let you know this ahead of time- both when you book and a text reminder the day before. Don't like it? Don't go there. They start the tasting with their rose, which is delicious. Sara did our tasting with us and she was fantastic. She asked about what we liked and didn't like and really personalized the tasting for us. We were able to taste lots of wines because she would bring out different things for each of us. Discovered today that this winery I was beyond excited to be a member of... is actually not inclusive of everyone and does not allow certain members of our community to enter their winery. Their Adelsheim Club Manager, Ben Lemoine, was unable to even cancel our membership in a professional manner. He actually hung up on me. He told me that for fact, "no, I hung up on you on purpose." We came early since we were in the area and they were able to seat us at the bar but had no open tables. I felt like the wine tasting and wines were over priced compared to the experience. The people next to us would have definitely disagreed though as they left with more than a case. Our server was nice & attentive but not very thorough in explaining the wines. This place is a gem. From the warm greeting of smiling faces handing you a glass of sparkling when you walk in the door, to the beautiful winery and grounds, to the solid wine itself. I can't find a bad one in the bunch. Stopped in yesterday to pick up a wine allocation. Robin, Melissa, Tekla (sp), and Sarah were so friendly and engaging, making us feel totally welcome and glad to be members. As other wineries fall off with their customer service after they get your membership, Adelsheim remains consistent. Unfortunately, this rating is due to the Adelsheim's lack of customer service. The wine is okay. The tasting room is a bit dated but had beautiful views of the vineyard. Adelsheim was our first stop on a winery tour (there were 13 of us) and 12 of us had a tasting flight ($35 each+20% gratuity for being a large party). We only had 90 minutes here and once it came time to pay, we were a bit rushed (things always take longer with large groups). My husband payed without realizing we were overcharged $500. We noticed once we were at the next winery, but figured we could call the next day and get it settled (I thought they must have mistakenly charged us for one of their more expensive flights). When I called the next day and spoke to the manager, she tried to justify the charges saying there was a minimum $75 spend per person per their large party policy. First of all, that's outrageous if that is actually their policy, this isn't Napa... Second, they NEVER mentioned this to our group or else we would have purchased bottles to meet the minimum (duh), but we were not given the opportunity. Instead the server just charged us $75 per flight (and 20% gratuity). This seemed a little dishonest. The manager agreed with me and told me she would issue a refund. A week passed and no credit showed in my account so I called the manger back, she apologized and explained that the system wouldn't allow her to issue the credit. She would have void the transaction and re-run my card. I gave her my card number and she assured me that she would take care of everything. Five more days passed and still no credit, so I called and left a voicemail. No one called back. I called again a couple days later and left a message with someone working in the tasting room. Still no one has called me back and I still have not got the credit that they agreed to give me. I'm beyond disappointed that Adelsheim has forced me to file a claim with my bank to get my refund, which is such a hassle (I've never had to file a claim before). It is NOT okay to ignore customers when there's an issue, especially since I was never rude when speaking to anyone. I will never support a business that treats people this way. read more

Excellent service and hospitality. One of the best tasting experiences in oregon. They have a beautiful outside tent set up that is very warm and cozy with abundant heat lamps next to every table. They even gave us some vertical tastings, which were very fun. Very knowledgeable and passionate people about their wines. Wheather you like earthy, musky or bright, fruity pinot noirs, they have very nice releases. Some are a tad acidic and could use a few more years in the cellar and become very good wines. Sara was our tasting host.. she has a bubbly personality as well as knowledgeable of their wines and winemaking process. I love how they use local artists and feature their work on their labels. Adelsheim was at the top of her list. We now know why. From the moment we entered, we were welcomed. It really hurts me to write this review, Adelsheim you have broke our hearts. You were our first winery we became members of 8 years ago. We since are members to 12 other fantastic wineries throughout the willamette valley. My wife and I have a 3 strike rule, they hit it all and embarrassed us in front of friends. 1. Lady was Extremely rude when we had a reservation In the fire room, she said they didn't have it and refused us! We showed a confirmation email stating it was reserved and she lost it! She was very inappropriate and started screaming at us. A manger made it right and we relaxed in the room and wrote it off as covid employees..... 2. We Came in to pickup fall shipment, picked up shipment, tasted, walked to the car with Adelsheim glasses and a big extra purchase! We then were accused us of stealing the glasses I tried to keep Calm thinking she must have has a bad day! Came in on 3/11 after billed 3/9 to pickup shipment. I was told it wouldn't be ready till tomorrow.... Ok, so I bought some wine and left. On Monday 3/27 we came to pickup our wine and they said I already got it on 3/11. After a awkward confrontation they gave me the 3 bottles owed. I get home and receive a email stating I am no longer part of the wine club.... Can you believe this? I buy more than 90% of members.... They think I lied and stole 3 bottles??? Look at what we have bought there!!! Multiple 3 liters magnums, 1.5L wines in many vintages and expensive library wines! must think I stiffed them for a $218 allocation.... Interesting . We used to love this place! So sad the winemaker left along with all the normal and service oriented employees. Don't waist your time unless you want poor service and weird unintelligent employees who think they are entitled. What a lovely experience!!! We brought out-of-town guests recently because the NYC pal drinks their wine in Brooklyn and she was thrilled to "see where the magic happens." Our "educator" Melissa was an absolute delight (as were the two who checked us in) - SO personable and fun. The wines are delish and the property is gorgeous--we really appreciate their earth-friendly practices. Outside food is not allowed but kiddos definitely are. I had such a great time at this winery! The views are stunning, the burrata is to-die-for, and the service was just top-notch. As women of color, I was a little concerned that we'd feel out of place but this was not the case here. We had the pleasure of meeting Martin and Jacob, who made us feel welcome the entire time. Jacob truly offered us an amazing experience by being attentive, engaging with us, and educating us on wine, pairings and where the wine was sourced from. I absolutely LOVED that we were sitting right across from the vineyard that provided us with one of the Pinot Noir's. It does not get any more local than that! I purchased a couple of bottles (for myself and some friends) and a jam set (which pairs incredibly with the burrata). I want to really recognize Jacob because he didn't even bat an eye whenever he stumbled upon the "unique" conversations we were having every time he came back to our table. He was laughing right along with us and carried himself with such a great energy that we even invited him to sit with us at one point. He couldn't, of course, but that's how comfortable he made us feel. We came here because Adelsheim is one of the early OR vineyards and has a lot of great history in the region and it did not disappoint!! We came on a slow afternoon and were the only guests here for a little while. They had a few bottles already open, so we had the opportunity to try a few things not on the main tasting menu + the standard tasting menu items, and were even offered the opportunity to try any wine again! While we couldn't travel with any bottles and so, didn't buy any, the service was awesome, the wines were delicious, and it was a lot of fun to learn about the different soils and elevations for the growing areas. read more

What I really appreciated about the experience here was that, even though it's a large and potentially impersonal tasting room, our server, Ali, really went out of her way to ensure the tasting met our needs. The wines were good-to-great, but Ali listened to our feedback and poured different things than the menu listed based on our interests.
