Visited this winery around 11:30 AM on a Thursday. It was empty when we walked in and by the time we left at 2:30 it was packed. Phil in the tasting room is fabulous. This was some of the best wine I had in the region. Getting there can be a little top as the road is not paved. It is worth the trek. We sat inside by the wood fireplace that had a warm fire going. They let you bring your own food and beverage in to enjoy with their wine if you'd like. They also have heaters and blankets outside. If you spend $120 on wine per person, the tasting is complementary. They have free range, chickens, and oysters roaming the property. My favorite was the estate blend. read more

Love the story behind the name. Make sure you ask. We were tasting in an adjacent building after our tour. It was so comfortable. The wine was out of this world. I would strongly recommend you go. It's certainly off the beaten path so do not give up!! read more

This is one of the best locations I can imagine for a winery - it almost feels like you are in Italy with the rolling hills and beautiful green land in the distance. In burgundy. On a sunny day you can sit outside and admire the views while enjoying their delicious wine. On a cold day they have a fireplace inside which would be super cozy inside their ultra-modern, yet very Oregon tasting room (building). Don't miss this place, it will be the highlight of your wine tasting outing. For bigger groups I would recommend to reserve a picnic table ahead of time and order by the bottles. read more

Amazing view and nice wine! It's located on the top of the hill and I felt like being back to the winery in Italy. We had the flight which included one chardonay and four Pinot noir. I really liked one of the reserved Pinot noir. This winery is probably not one of the most famous amongst all in Oregon, but if you are looking for a place to chill, enjoy and have some great wine, you might love this place. PS they have two dogs and two cats! The moment we sat down, one of the dogs just walked over to check out on us. One of the cats even allowed me to pet him! read more

The views are absolutely spectacular! Really one of a kind. Unlike most other views in the area. The tasting room is beautiful and open to the outdoor patio which has many different areas to sit and taste. They also allow you to bring your own food and eat at picnic tables right outside the tasting room. We especially enjoyed the chardonnay and of course the pint noirs. The grapes are grown just feet away from the tasting room and you can walk right up to them to get an up close and personal view! read more

This place is an absolute gem, with exquisite wine and a wonderful staff! We went here while on a wine tasting day for my friends bachelorette party. Of the four stops we made that day, we all agreed that Eminent Domaine was the best. We were greeted at the door and treated like family for the rest of our tasting. We were on a time crunch, and looking back we had wished we were able to spend more time there. Thankfully I am a local and will absolutely be back! The grounds are beautiful, with the tasting room sitting next to a vineyard and overlooking other vineyards and forest covered hills. The view is worth the visit alone! They have a wonderful outdoor area to sit and enjoy the view, as well as some indoor seating. The wines were absolutely amazing. The quality of their Hyland Pinot was top tier, truly something to write home about. My second favorite was the Chardonnay which was perfectly refreshing for the summer day. 10/10, highly recommend this winery! If you're doing a tour, make it one of your stops and plan to be there for a while. If you're just looking for a winery to spend an afternoon at, then this is the place for you. read more

Made a reservation last week and went out to this beautiful property. It is an amazing property. Gorgeous views, fantastic tasting room and a friendly and welcoming staff!! The wines were all superb!! The Rose was dry and absolutely delicious. The single clone designates were superb!! Phil was knowledgeable and inviting. He has a great way to make you feel comfortable. The wines are prices very reasonable for the amazing qualities they portray!! I was so impressed that I joined they inviting Cellar Club!!! Yay!! read more

We had a lovely early afternoon tasting here while it drizzled away. We loved the pinots, and the Chardonnay was one of the better that we have had. Beautiful view and we sat cozied up on the patio while it rained. Laura was so friendly, attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable during our service. We will be back! read more

Great outdoor areas to picnic and enjoy the sweeping views - mere yards from the vines. The tasting room itself is modern and airy, but it gets too loud with the sounds of drunken patrons bouncing off the walls once folks start filtering in later in the day. Take my advice: bring some food and enjoy the wines outside on a picnic table. Much more pleasant. They also have some nice cushioned patio chairs - but no food allowed in that area. Currently they are pouring a rose and 4 pinot for $20/pp. Buy a bottle of pinot ($40-$50 range) and they waive one tasting fee. We were extremely happy with the folks working the tasting room. All pleasant, friendly, and very service-oriented. A recommended stop if you want to sip, graze, and linger. If you are instead just into cramming as many tastings as you can into one day - you are entirely missing the point. read more

Probably my favorite winery that I have ever been to. The view was about as good as it gets. There are soooo many beautiful vineyards with mountains and trees in the background. We sat outside at the picnic benches and they came out and served us our tastings! The staff was so knowledgable, I was blown away. The wine was great. I have nothing bad to say! read more

Gorgeous location. Excellent service. Fantastic music: overall epic vibe. Scenery was better than the wine but I would still go back, one of my favorite winery's in the area. (Driving tip: keep driving till you arrive. You might feel like you're off-roading or that you went the wrong way but keep going. Just when you think you're lost, it's steps away!) read more

Love the story as to how this location came to be. The owner had to give up his property via Eminent Domaine so he took his money and opened a winery. Worth a visit to this location to visit their adorable King Charles Spaniel mix who likes to nap in a wine barrel. That image in your mind, it's even cuter than that! read more

Well, two reasons--the trees are all cut down and so it's unshaded, and they have dogs there who are nice 2 people but mean to other dogs (and we have a dog to which they were mean). Very great wines. I am a big fan of the ribbon ridge AVA, I really like the soil that is there, I think it produces very unique wines. And, the winemaker is very talented in letting the flavors come to fruition. My husband and I loved the property, there are numberous different places to chill, and enjoy some good wine. We didn't intend to do this, but I think we sat in a seperate spot, between every wine on the flight!! So, we got a good taste for the wine, and the property. They, also had great historic photos of Portland, around the tasting room/bar area and as well as the upstairs/secondary, more intimate tasting room. The photos were very interesting to look at as well. My husband liked the 2013-Protocol Pinot Noir that was the first one to sample on the tasting flight. My ultimate favorite, and I called it upon the first sip of the sample, was the 2013 Ribbon Ridge Estate Grown Pinot Noir. I think that second one had a little more of the unique volcanic soil that I like, and my husband tends to like more earthy, smoky flavors, so we have different tastes, but we bought a bottle of each of them, so we can revisit them on our own turf, and see what our thoughts are on the wine, on a different day. I will definitely be back to this winery as much as I can! read more

Amazing experience and views. Staff are kind and friendly, accommodating to our small party of three by moving furniture to facilitate us sitting where we wanted to sit. Friendly to our 8 year old. Wine was outstanding. Views are amazing. Atmosphere is laid back but classy. Lots of options for seating with shaded options and can bring outside food if seated on the lawn. Wish we had stayed here longer than going to a nearly winery. Overall an absolutely delightful experience from beginning to end. read more

This is an exceptional winery to visit. Not only is the view breath-taking, but their wine is also phenomenal. I don't know about you, but usually wineries with awesome views have only mediocre wine. Well, Eminent Domaine is definitely the exception! There is also a lovely area with picnic tables. My group and I brought along sandwiches and salads and had a lovely picnic before delving into wine tasting. Also, their staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and the history of the winery. To top it off: they even come out to the patio to pour for you (should you decide to sit out there), which is a nice touch of added customer service. The 2015 Estate Pinot Noir was definitely my favorite -- I think it was described as "party in a bottle!" Which was super accurate haha. This is a great under the radar winery to come and check out the next time you're in wine country. read more

This just became one of my favorite tasting rooms to visit!!! I already a big fan of Eminent Domaine Wines, we've been purchasing them for a few years when they were doing their tastings at Beacon Hill during Memorial Day and Thanksgiving weekend events. I heard by word of mouth that they'd opened a new tasting room on their vineyard on Ribbon Ridge and all I can say is - WOW!!! Combining these awesome wines with the beautiful new tasting room facility and AMAZING view - it's a home run for sure!! My husband and I found the 2014 777 Pinot and the 2014 Reserve Pinot to be our favorites, but honestly there's not a bad one in the bunch so just relax, take in the view and enjoy! History

Established in 2006.

Eminent Domaine Wines is a bit of a lemonade from lemons story. Company owner, Jeff Meader, lost a building in Portland, OR under eminent domain. However, after being claimed, misallocated and stuck in litigation, the loss of the building provided Jeff the opportunity to start the wine label and vineyard. Once a sore subject, the story is now reflected on with a glass of Estate Pinot Noir and a good sense of humor.

But on to the wines! Our party enjoyed the Rosé of Gamay Noir...sunshine in a bottle! Elegant & delicious...definitely as the French say "Yummy". The 2023 Aligoté ohhh man... *sighs* I can still recall how this could be the winner for crab cakes or seafood. They are among a hand few of estates that produce this in Oregon. We were fortunate enough to taste the Sauvignon Blanc that is grown lower in the vineyard. John, the passionate proprietor, described how this was unique to Oregon and it is. He described how the location of the vines receive a warmer growing climate...and it was evident as we toured. The Savignon Blanc was unlike anything...I lived in New Zealand, and I appreciate Sancerre ...their Savignon Blanc crossed that bridge with bliss to my taste buds. Worth it!!! The Chardonnay was exceptional as well... I believe the 90 plus scores from wine writers and critics...it was paired with Seasonal Salad with PNW Salmon Arugula, radicchio, shaved cabbage, green leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, and hazelnuts with green goddess dressing...just enough acid and just enough fruit, wonderful balance. You be the judge! Onto the Pinot Noir... Paired with four month aged Beemster goat cheese. It was a 2021 that shined. Just enough body like Sophia Loren, just enough depth like a podcast you want to listen to again and again. Captured my palette for sure. Next it was the Gamay Noir...not sure how you wine folks like Gamay or have had experiences with per se...their Gamay Noir is svelte... it's like you're a kid and... it's your first dance...it's delicate and light...it has sensibility...harmony... a perfect dancing partner... The tasting flight was a Rose, 2 Chardonnays and 2 Pinots. I loved the stories behind all of the wines. He recommended selecting a food pairing from the menu that looked amazing. We weren't too hungry but anxious to try the mushroom Brushetta, with the wines. I'm not the biggest Chard fan, but OMG, the mushrooms were fantastic with the whites as well as the Pinots. I would love to go back, order multiple food pairings and soak up the sun, enjoying what our State has to offer.

I got the wine tasting of four which consisted of a pinot gris, cab franc, pinot noir and a rose of pinot noir. My favorite out of the bunch was surprisingly the cab franc, even though we were in pinot country. Very green and vegetal tasting. It was a weird way to get to the bathroom which I had to walk around the building because the farmer was sleeping in the main room. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a tasting was around $28. I'd say a good value and good wines with a great view.

The service is wonderful, it feels like your guests at someone's house. just enough talk and descriptions of wine without being overbearing. we never had to wait for the next pour, they saw when we were ready and magically appeared. It's dog friendly, so my friend brought their lab pup. The owners also have dogs - but be cautious as one of their large dogs went after our pup. Thankfully the owner was able to grab him and kept him locked up for the rest of the time, but it did have me quite rattled. The next time, we will leave the pup home out of caution.
