One of our favorite visits in Willamette Valley (out of 9 wineries we visited) -- and this is also coming from someone who's lived near Napa and traveled to wineries all over the world. It's not often you get to literally hang out with the owners (Kipp and Danell) in their house or their garden for a few hours -- and this was just so memorable and charming! We loved their wines, and we loved the food pairing, too -- all in such a lovely setting. Even ended up signing up for the wine club!

Andrew was our host and he was amazing! Funny, informative and gave us a memorable experience!

From the moment you walk in, you're transported to an Oregon Wine Country Oasis. What Kipp and Danell have created is truly dreamy, unique, sincere, blissful, etc. Avery lead us in a very informative and joyful tasting; Kipp added in details of how Anacréon came to be and their winemaking philosophy. About the wines....WOW. I really fell for their Chardonnays'. "A kiss of pineapple" is how Avery described their 22' Epicure. If you can get a taste of their 2020 chards, do so. The ambiance of the tasting room really allowed me to fully taste the wines and glean their story. The view is out of this world; Anacréon is sat in the perfect area in the middle of vineyards. You'll feel like you're on a another planet. Extremely relaxing. The food!!!! Get the Spanish Mussel Bruschetta, it perfectly paired with the chard. Nothing was a miss. I cannot wait to return to Anacréon, I would say this is an essential stop for any wine lover and Oregon wine country traveler alike.

We traveled to the Willamette valley to celebrate our 20th anniversary and the Allison Inn and Spa recommended Anacreon. We did the epicurean food and wine pairing under the pergola outdoors and to say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement. Every dish was artistically plated and each wine pairing was spot on. Kip hosted us and his easy-going demeanor, knowledge of wine of the Willamette valley, and sharing the story of how he and his wife came to realize their dream of owning a winery made for a fantastic conversation. We joined the wine club and look forward to our first shipment. Highly recommend

We booked for the the indoor seating in case it rained but it was so beautiful outside! We opted for an outdoor table with views. The wine was delicious, staff was friendly and attentive. It sits on a hillside with the fields of grapes splayed out before you. It's beautiful. It's literally Utopia. I wish that it remained a utopian experience. I don't know about you but I expect excellent service while at a winery. This time when we visited Utopia, albeit our tasting flights were comped, their goal at the end of the day is to get you to buy a bottle(s) or become a wine club member. So when I go limping in and ask the man behind the counter if he can recycle my glass bottle he says yes he can but then as I approach him he tells me I can just go ahead and take it outside to the white bin. From this interaction I left the tasting room and the winery host and that the winery host with the strong sensation of sour grapes. The host arrived with very good timing just as most of us had finished off our first pour which was as I recall a very fruity, like and alcohol fruit salad served very chilled. It was actually quite good. Next came three Pinot noirs. I typically do not care fore Pinot noir wines, But I will usually find at least one Pinot that pleases me. This was no exception. The first Pinot in our flight was ok. I was the wine list showed only our tasting flight. The second Pinot was a delight, it was full flavored and peppery, such a nice surprise. The last Pinot I don't think anyone liked. On to the Chardonnay. It was described to us as being aged in first oak, and then stainless steel. I would have enjoyed it more if it was only aged in oak, If you find yourself in the neighborhood, by all means, stop by. There is something on the menu for everyone. 2023 - Review # 40

Highly recommend because of the relaxed atmosphere...art adorns the tasting room for purchase...and the backstory to that caught my attention. All of the artists paintings have a life story. But on to the wines! Our party enjoyed the Rosé of Gamay Noir...sunshine in a bottle! Elegant & delicious...definitely as the French say "Yummy". The 2023 Aligoté ohhh man... *sighs* I can still recall how this could be the winner for crab cakes or seafood. They are among a hand few of estates that produce this in Oregon. We were fortunate enough to taste the Sauvignon Blanc that is grown lower in the vineyard. John, the passionate proprietor, described how this was unique to Oregon and it is. He described how the location of the vines receive a warmer growing climate...and it was evident as we toured. The Savignon Blanc was unlike anything...I lived in New Zealand, and I appreciate Sancerre ...their Savignon Blanc crossed that bridge with bliss to my taste buds. Worth it!!! The Chardonnay was exceptional as well... I believe the 90 plus scores from wine writers and critics...it was paired with Seasonal Salad with PNW Salmon Arugula, radicchio, shaved cabbage, green leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, and hazelnuts with green goddess dressing...just enough acid and just enough fruit, wonderful balance. You be the judge! Onto the Pinot Noir... Paired with four month aged Beemster goat cheese. It was a 2021 that shined. Just enough body like Sophia Loren, just enough depth like a podcast you want to listen to again and again. Captured my palette for sure. Next it was the Gamay Noir...not sure how you wine folks like Gamay or have had experiences with per se...their Gamay Noir is svelte... it's like you're a kid and... it's your first dance...it's delicate and light...it has sensibility...harmony... a perfect dancing partner... Make a reservation and explore this unique place. What makes Oregon wine country unique are the people and the way they farm. Hats off to Balsall Creek! Will be back!

The new location is perched on a hill with a sweet airstream and covered tasting patio. Google maps guided us onto a sketchy unpaved road so we almost aborted our mission to visit. I'm so thankful we kept going and found this sweet spot. Locals and visitors have to visit this place - now. Definitely go if you are searching for an awesome spot to relax and enjoy wine. The views are just breathtaking and hypotonic with the ever-changing clouds. This winery just moved into a top place on my list to take friends or tourists that plan to visit Oregon. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Tastings in 2024 are $20 a person, but comes with a million dollar view. The Pinot is delicious, definitely savor it - or take home a case of it - if money isn't an issue. Our server Kevin was engaging and knowledgeable. I will definitely visit again. The only disappointment was the port-a-potty restroom. Although extremely clean, it was really difficult to see while inside since it's situated under the portico behind the wine bins. Hopefully in the future, they can possibly develop a sustainable winery that has better facilities or get luxury loos. I also think this spot would be too cold to visit in the winter - November - February (since it's primarily an outside venue.)

The tasting room is filled with art created by the owner, James Frey and is featured not only on the walls but used for many of the bottle labels. Our server, Nick, was well educated on what he was pouring and made the whole tasting experience a great way to spend a dreary Friday afternoon. It was tough to limit my self to 2 bottles to take home and went with the nontraditional Oregon pinot selections even though those were good. I love me a good Pinot Blanc and anything, Walla, Walla. The 2 bottles, one, from their 1841 label, were added to my wine fridge. This stop is definitely worth it on a Ribbon Ridge Wine tour. I am anxious to go back for a Gin tasting from their newest venture, a distillery, called Brixeur Spirits. It sits on the property to left of the original tasting room where one can taste various Gins and maybe, a new specialty cocktail?
