Utopia Vineyards

We came to Utopia Vineyards for a wine tasting. We were met by Erin Warnshuis. Erin is Dan Warnshuis oldest daughter, who is the owner of Utopia Vineyard. She handles hospitality for Utopia. She is the marketing, tasting room and wine club manager rolled into one. She had several nice wines for us to try and we had an amazing experience there. We tasted a vertical flight of different vintages and my wife and I both liked the 2017 Estate Pinot Noir and of course the 2017 "Paradise" Estate Reserve.

Love this place. Dan, the owner has deep passion and knowledge about wine and he created fun, cozy and beautiful place. We tasted Different vintage of Pino Nor, could tasted huge different between 2016 and 2015. All grapes are made at his estate and organic certified. I also loved Grenache which their grapes come from Eastern Oregon but nice body and some combination of fruit and tanning gave a lot of complex flavors. Perfect to come back here for summer time, bring picnic, sip wines and play bocce balls!

Cheers!

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Utopia. Relaxed, casual atmosphere. Very nice wine. Excellent customer service and fun conversation. Abundant outdoor seating. Ok to bring your own food/picnic. We will definitely be back.

Very cute place, service was amazing, we definitely plan to come back. The wine was good, plenty of outdoor seating. There is also a bocce ball game.

Great wines! Love love love their Viognier every time! I also like their reserve Pinots (duh). They are a great part of the Ribbon Ridge AVA loop and a place I will stop every time I am in the area. The patio is really lovely. Comfy wine barrel chairs, plentiful umbrellas, and two really well-made bocce courts. A beautiful view on the top of the hill to boot. His tasting room is small, but cozy. Dan and his family are awesome too. It's a family-run vineyard, and they are happy to trade jokes, share their wine knowledge, and even to jump in for a bocce game. Considering becoming a member.

Wine flight- overlooking the hills and vineyard.

Make an appointment- utopia is an excellent winery! Loved my time there. I highly suggest spending an hour soaking in the sun. They also have some beautifully made soy candles in their wine glasses, take one home for the fall.

The best tasting experience! We love the family environment and all their wines. Highly recommend becoming a club member!

Good wine. Warm reception. Vinyard on top of a hill. Spectacular views. Small, cozy tasting room. Beware: the man serving the wine will laugh at you for buying the riesling.

We had a good wine tasting at Rain Dance Vineyards in Newburg, Oregon. Rain Dance was one of a few…read morewineries that we selected for our Willamette Valley wine tour (Oregon Wine Country). The staff was polite, welcoming, and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. The experience was like going into a nice home, next to a vineyard, for wine and cheese. Lovely atmosphere. Our group of eight had a Saturday afternoon reservation. We arrived and were seated before 12:30pm and left by around 1:45pm. This did not appear to be a big operation. During our visit, I saw only two lady employees tending to all the customers. Rain Dance has indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside. Regardless of where you sit, there are good views of the property's vineyard and garden. It's beautiful and serene. Shortly after our tasting began, a bachelorette party left. Therefore, we had the inside all to ourselves save for a couple seated by the window. The weather was pleasant so several doors to the house were left open, creating a calm, gentle breeze. We had the wines listed below. Individual bottle prices are from the time of our tasting and descriptions are from Rain Dance's website at the time of writing this review ( https://raindancevineyards.com/shop/ ). * 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "Classic aromas and flavors of stone fruit and tropical flowers are lifted by vibrant acidity on the palate. This drier-style Riesling allows for so much versatility at the dinner table, but fish dishes are our favorites." * 2023 Grand Oak Gewurztraminer. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "A Rain Dance favorite! Gewurztraminer is a rare find in Oregon, especially in such a dry style. Its lively notes of jasmine, peach and spice box are perfect for Asian and Indian dishes loaded with their own exotic spices." * 2022 Estate Pinot Noir Cuvee. $45 for 750-mL bottle. "Fresh notes of cherries, pomegranate, plums, black pepper, pipe tobacco, and cinnamon." * 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir. $60 for 750-mL bottle. "Bright and fresh with a complex assortment of dark cherries, raspberries, cranberries, intermingled with thyme, sage, and cinnamon." Since the time of our visit, I think the 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling and the 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir have been replaced by 2023 and 2022 vintages, respectively. We also had at least two charcuterie boards ($35 each) that included crackers, roasted hazelnuts, onion jam, pork rillettes, raisins, and three kinds of cheese. The total cost for our group for everything was $336, which worked out to $42 per person. While I've been to a lot of wineries/vineyards and done a lot of wine tastings (just search my reviews), I'm still by no means a wine connoisseur. All I can say about Rain Dance is I thought all of the wines were enjoyable. All four, from the riesling to the pinot noirs, were delectable. They smelled and tasted well made and high quality. In short, I enjoyed our visit to Rain Dance and thought it was worth the visit. Rain Dance Vineyards is named after owners and founders Celia and Ken Austin's Rain Dance Ranch. The ranch was established in 1991 and the vineyard was established in 2009.

Words will never be fair to explain how gorgeous this winery is. The views are beyond breath taking, with just as equally amazing wine to match. We discovered they had been charging our credit card but not contacting us or sending wine. We eventually found out that the wine we had paid for was sitting at another winery. We drove from WA to OR to collect our wines and the place was closed inside of business hours. We contacted them and they "graciously" offered to ship our wine to us. The winery is now reopened under new owners. Based upon our previous experience, we canceled our membership and received confirmation that it was canceled. Today they tried to run my credit card again. No instance of Lenne winery has shown the basic capabilities to conduct business and exchange funds for goods. I strongly discourage getting into business with a place like this. Please don't support negligent (at best) businesses.

Oliver Springs Vineyard was our favorite stop on our small wine tour through Willamette Valley,…read morea.k.a. Oregon Wine Country. Husband and wife founders and owners Jim and Stephanie Houchins are nothing short of fantastic. The wines we tasted were excellent. After meeting Jim and Stephanie, I could really see the passion they had for wine and their vineyard. Oliver Springs is truly a labor of love for them. According to their website ( https://oliverspringsvineyard.com/ ), their first vintage year was 2016 and they "are currently producing approximately 300 cases a year, making [them] a micro-boutique winery." Our tasting consisted of the following wines: * 2021 Chardonnay * 2019 Estate Pinot Noir * 2021 Estate Pinot Noir * 2019 Kieta's Block Pinot Noir * 2019 Sasha's Block Pinot Noir The tasting, regularly $25 per person, included a sheet with tasting notes. Stephanie conducted the tasting and Jim assisted. Jim also took us on an educational and informative tour of the vineyard. Oliver Springs has multiple grape clones, which are cut and grafted from the same mother vines. I'm no wine expert/connoisseur, but I believe the general thought is clones produce more consistent, higher-quality wines. The Kieta and Sasha Block Pinot Noirs were named after two of Jim and Stephanie's huskies. A third husky, Mosey (Mozzie? I'm not sure how to spell it.), joined us for our tasting and vineyard tour, which added to the experience. :) Oliver Springs is a small operation. I believe the vineyard is only about 3.5 acres. I know it's not Stephanie's full-time job and I guess probably not for Jim either. They're open on weekends by appointment only. Our group of eight visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. We left shortly after 12:00pm. They have a relatively small, simple, clean, and modern building with a tasting room inside. Unlike many other wineries, this one provides an intimate, get-to-know-the-owners type wine-tasting experience. Several of us ended up ordering wine afterwards. The wine cost anywhere from $42 to $50 per bottle. As is customary, they have wine clubs you can join as well. See my pictures or contact them for more info. If you're putting together a list of wineries to visit in Oregon, I highly recommend Oliver Springs Vineyard.
