As members of the Foley Wine & Food Society, we were offered a complimentary tasting at Four Graces. Our experience was fantastic and our host, Collin, was delightful! Since my sister and I are not huge Pinot fans, our tasting was geared around whites and roses. All of the wine we tasted was delicious! We were not that familiar with Oregon wines, but found these to be full bodied, with great aromas and wonderful finishes. The location is out of the way and sits up on a hill. You also have the option of staying at the Black Walnut Inn at the vineyard, or the Grange, which is more upscale and offered to Foley members. We did not stay here, but would consider it next time. Our only complaint was that we arrived in early August, and the wildfires in Oregon and Washington affected the air quality and the views. We are likely to go back at a different time of year when that isn't likely to be happening next time. read more

We would not recommend this winery. Even though this place has beautiful views of Willamette Valley and a beautiful interior, we were sat outside overlooking the road coming in and the Inn below. We got to listen to the maintenance folks trimming the hedges of the Inn the entire time we were there completely ruining the serenity of the experience. When I asked about moving to the other, completely empty, outdoor seated area, further from the noise and with unobstructed views, we were told that was only for people who purchased bottles. Then when we informed our server that we had another appointment and we needed to wrap up, it seemed like she did everything she could to fumble around and delay us. It was very disappointing because we enjoyed their wine, but the negatives of the experience far outweigh the positive. Plus it's hard to recommend this place when we had so many other experiences at other wineries in Willamette, where the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed, with better views and equally good if not better wine. read more

I've always enjoyed visiting 4 Graces as a Foley member. Wines are great and the new tasting room is beautiful. Recently I've heard of some negative experiences from others and now I've experienced it myself. I was there with a friend and the person pouring rushed us and kept returning with the next pour before we had finished the previous one. They were not particularly busy and we were not there a long time. Since I recently received my Foley shipment I did not choose to purchase a bottle. I was then asked if I had cash. When I said I did not I was told she would ring me up for one cent so I could leave a tip on my card. Seemed rude. Probably won't be bringing guests in the future. read more

Fantastic wines, charming setting, exceptional service! This was our first stop on our 2 day stay in Dundee, and a fabulous way to kick off our mini vacation. The setting is so quaint with the main tasting room in a barn with high open beam ceilings and chandeliers. And other cortège style buildings scattered about the grounds connected by walking paths and a large patio with tables and chairs. Flowers and bushes in bloom with pink, purple, burgundy, white and yellow blossoms standing out against the white buildings and the scent of roses creating a serene and magical setting. It was a sunny, blue sky day and the red Adirondack chairs next to the vineyard had our names! Sitting under a tree with the growing grapevines and hills all around us, was perfection. Since it was barely noon, we opted for a glass of Pinot Gris instead of a flight, choosing to sit and relax with one glass of wine rather than an instruction led tasting. The wine was crisp and light and sipping it while surrounded by so much nature and beauty transported us. Definitely felt like we were far, far away from Portland; not just a quick 40 minute drive! Our hostess was wonderful, cheerfully describing the wine, ensuring we were comfortable. She brought us cans of water and individual cups filled with hazelnuts, an ode to the land which once was a hazelnut farm and still has many trees. We encountered other staff during our visit, each greeting us with a warm and friendly hello. What a wonderful place! I will be back this summer, with a picnic in tow, to enjoy more of their wines in this picturesque setting. read more

What a perfect little place to stop for a tasting! Easy to locate, close to town and really really good people serving wine! Our host was just delightful and so ready to explain all things Four Graces and what goes into their great wines! Their farmhouse serves as their tasting room and it is really nice in there. I grabbed a blanket because it was a bit chilly that day but then came the wine. I had to stop off here as it's one of the sister wineries from my membership back in California. First time and it did not disappoint. Believe we were the first batch that came in as it was early and just opened. Right from getting out of the car, the property vibe was amazing. You have all the huge trees in the yard with tables and chairs scattered throughout the property. That nice country cottage feel. The beautiful landscape of fragrance garden roses and hydrangeas. Fruit trees scattered on the property and the rows of grapes throughout the vineyard. Beautiful. We were greeted by Rachel, such a sweetheart. Right when we walked us, she greeted us with such a warm smile. Perfect morning pick me up, and not to mention some tasting. Hey, it's five o clock somewhere..... She stated off with the white, and myself am not a white wine drinker. But, wow, I quite liked it, the Pinot Gris. The selection of flights were amazing. Each one had it distinct taste. Then on to the last, 2016 Courtney reserves Pinot Noir. It was great. Rachel mentioned that she something for us to try at end, an opened bottle of the 2014 Pinot Noir. Wow, my favorite out of all the tasting. That first smell and the way it just lingers. Sold. Purchased a bottle for lunch. Overall experience was amazing. Rachel is a master at what she does. The customer service and vibe she brings makes the experience a whole lot better. It's nice to know that there's an amazing wineries that's part of the membership. I give this place three stars. Not because of the wine but because of the high price per tasting $40 and how they ignored me. Single female solo at winery. Don't recommend if you want good service. Sat for almost 25 minutes before my next taste and saw them pouring a rose and then another Pinot that was off menu for a couple near me. Not sure what they are thinking. All people matter! Luckily there are 300 more wineries around me that cherish all. So I upgraded them to 4 stars since one of the wine pourers who seemed amazing apologized and was very nice. read more

Our first visit to Four Graces in just about a year was last week. We went to taste and buy some of the new release of their Pinot Blanc (here's a tip...it sold out last year and will this year too so buy early) and to take advantage of their waiver of tasting fees for April Dundee Passport holders (here's another tip...if the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association sets up this Passport event next April, buy one.) WINES: This year's (2011 vintage) Pinot Blanc ($24 / bottle retail) is simply luscious. Buy it while you can. One of the other couples in the tasting room said they purchased multiple cases last year and drank every bottle and were back to purchase more this year. We heard from others in the tasting room that they acted too slow last year and the Pinot Blanc was sold out by the time they tried to buy a case so they were acting fast this year. So...heads up to fellow winos! The 2011 Pinot Gris ($20? / bottle retail) is also superb and we imagine that won't last either. There are lots of good Pinot Gris made in the Willamette Valley, but we think Four Graces unarguably produces one of the very best. TASTING SET UP; We noted the tasting room opens at 10am, perhaps the earliest opening time of any in the area. So if you are a hardy wine taster who can imbibe that early, this is the early bird stop! We arrived a little before 11am to find another couple already happily underway. By 11:30 another five or six folks had joined us on a chilly Friday morning. The tasting fee is $10, refunded with a purchase of six or more bottles. (Down from a case minimum last year, I think. Moving the right direction. We noted other wineries in the area offer refund with two bottle purchase which seems like the best policy to us.) The friendly and knowledgeable host was pouring five tastes: Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and three Pinot Noir. TASTING ROOM ACCESSIBILITY UPDATE: The tasting room has had a major improvement since our visit a year ago. The owners have done an absolutely "WOOHOO" worthy job of fixing the accessibility problems. Now accessible parking in the lot ties in seamlessly to an accessible pathway that goes up to the side door entry as well as wraps to the back patio. Made me think of a twenty-something Veteran I met in Texas earlier this year. He had both legs severed in Iraq and was using a wheelchair. He said something about like this, "When I walked around in my uniform, I was a hero. Now that I use a wheelchair, I sometimes get treated like the enemy for just wanting to get into places." There but for the grace of God (and wine) go I. And sometimes, this is literally true with respect to wine anyway. There are moments when sanity would just not be possible without a nice, heaping glass of this precious elixir. The four graces, Prudence, Justice, Temperance, and Courage, are the basics of life's virtues according to Plato. How do wine and existentialism go hand-in-hand? I'm sure Sarte would agree, wine pairs well with most any philosophy so fetch your accomplice, raise your glass and swirl. Most certainly, a Prudent person would hasten his/her arrival at The Four Graces for a wine tasting and would not Unjustly block the wine counter and crowd out fellow wine tasters. As for Temperance, it's good to have someone that embraces temperance around in order to drive you from winery to winery and drop you at your door sans DUI. A courageous person tries every wine offered and does not shirk when offered a pinot gris when they have a strong preference for pinot noir. I will admit, the pinot gris was not my favourite pinot gris of the day, it was still quite lovely. I'll tell you what though, the pinot noirs here, were absolutely fantastic. I am not a pinot noir fan and I was punch-drunk in love with the pinots here. They were not that weak, light pink and light of flavor stuff I've found elsewhere. They were fruity, smooth and full-bodied. The fine folks in the tasting room were very friendly and knowledgeable about their fine wines and were helpful with recommendations of other wineries to visit in the area. My companion is a member and with membership comes attractive discounts, special events and pick-up parties. Just something to consider... I cant wait to write this review. The gentleman working here today showed us the best customer service I've had in a long time. From the get-go we were greeted with a warm welcome. I belive his name is Paul. He has an accent and is very knowledgeable about the wine he pours and wine in general. They offer a tasting flight of their four wines. He told us we could sit outside and he would bring each tasting to us. Love that! Everytime he gave us a new pour he would chat for a bit as well. It got a bit cold outside and he offered me a blanket. He also offered to bring me more white wine tastings because they only offer two on the flight. They have a demonstration vineyard where you can walk around and sample the different grapes. So cool! Unfortunately I was not able to purchase a bottle from here because I did not love anything I tried, but my husband did. This was probably the best experience I've had at a winery in a long time thanks to the gentleman with the lovely accent. read more

I was introduced to The Four Graces Pinot Noir in a local San Diego restaurant many years ago and fell in love with it (as well as the Four Graces story, having daughters myself!). I was excited to visit the Willamette Valley area recently and The Four Graces Winery was my first choice to visit. It is a gorgeous, sprawling vineyard, easy to find, and offers a very nice wine tasting service. A special shout out to Valerie Wilson, Manager of Guest Services, for going above and beyond. Don't miss a chance to visit this charming vineyard and sample some great wines! They also have an incredible wine club that encompasses not just The Four Graces vineyard, but includes member benefits at over 20 world class wineries in the Napa/Sonoma, Santa Barbara and Oregon areas. - Locale Destination - It's on NE Fox Farm Rd in Dundee, OR. It's a cozy and cute "cottage" wine tasting room. Tasting room by itself is quite small and simple. Warm and inviting seating area - inside and outside. They also can cater big groups outside. All the staff were very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. Vineyards smelled quite sweet due to both ripen grape and plum trees. I loved walking there. Parking is right in front of the tasting room. - Gluttony Expedition - Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 11: very fruity - apple, peach, lemon zest. It's good to chill a bit. Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc: apricot, grapefruit, and apple. Light and crispy. Good. Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 10: raspberry, plums, strawberries on the nose. Very light yet not bad. Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 10: Aromas of cherry, blackberries, hint of vanilla, and casis. This is a little heavier than Willamette Valley Pinot. Well balanced Pinot Noir. Doe Ridge Estate Pinot Noir 09: Their Pinot Noir kept getting better and better! The tasting /review order is low to high - this is the best quality Pinot Noir they offer. They make this only limited amount and only available at the tasting room (or the wine club member I believe). Very earthy, smooth, flowery wine with a long finish. This was a lot more impressive than the ones in Napa Valley. Great. - Conqueror's Deduction - 4.5 stars. Great winery - their Pinot Noir are very good (Oregon is well known for Pinot Noir). Their wine really surprised me. Their Pinot Noir is more berries than cherry aroma, light yet complex. Very good. Oregon is not just a beer - wine has a good quality as well. The actual wine was decent, nothing spectacular, but the price was reasonable. My favorite, turned out to be the Reserve (Dundee Hills 2014 Pinot). Appears to be their most expensive wine at $45 a bottle and they waived my tasting fee. So was happy about that! The ambiance and grounds however, were spectacular. Very relaxing and scenic. My family and I stopped by this beautiful little place on our way to the coast. So happy that we did! First it is stunning. The beautiful flowers, the tiny little cottage, and atmosphere in general is so soothing. On to the wine. Bought a half case of their reserve pinot and half case of their pinot gris. We only had like 10 minutes because our girls were bored. I thought the wine was excellent. The folks pouring were very knowledgeable and friendly. Man I'm with Sonia S. on this one.... I almost feel bad giving this 2 stars, but this was hands down my least favorite winery we visited in the area. The landscape is gorgeous here and I love the barn out back with the farm feeling decor. But the wine... sooo "Mehhh, I've experienced better." It says something if a huge Pinot Noir lover is in Portland and my favorite wine here ended up being a white Pinot Gris. We got our tastings and a cheese plate for $10 as a discount with our tourguide (A Great Portland Wine Tour.) Normally $15. People pouring wine were friendly but pours seemed a little small and almost everyone tried to sell us on their wine club because it's inclusive of other wineries. UGH, I cannot stand that... Mayyybe push it if I"m gushing over how amazing the wine is, but I think 3 separate employees tried selling us. *eyeroll* We mentioned to another cellar we didn't care for it here, and he mentioned that it was odd because it was the first weekend he had heard multiple people say the same thing. Perhaps they just had a bad harvest in 2014. So personally, I think this place is passable. This is a great easy stop just off the highway in the town of Dundee. Feels like a small oasis here being so close to town. Staff is welcoming and informative. At this time of year (September) the demonstration vineyard is full of fruit and great way to see (and taste) some berries. I've never seen anything like this - a fantastic idea - I think makes this a must stop if in town. Rows of Pommard, Dijon and Wadenswil clones side by side show the noticeable differences in the cluster development and size. Cool!! From my notes we tasted 7 wines that included a bonus tasting of a Columbia Valley Malbec/Merlot blend which was a good change of pace. Pinot's seemed overall more fruit forward style compared to other wineries visited. We liked just about everything. This is a 3.5 star review. This was our first wine tasting of the day. Place was very charming and in a beautiful setting. Always amazed with the detail and care that generally goes into the landscaping of many wineries. Tasting room was quaint and the gentleman pourer greeted us warmly. The tasting fee was $10 (on par with most of Oregon); however we asked if that cost could be applied to a purchase and was granted: 'it's been a slow day', our pourer said. Sweet! Never hurts to ask. Wines were pleasant and comments provided complimented each pouring perfectly. It was nice to know that all their grapes are sourced from their estate. Overall, I enjoyed their wines, however in context to the wineries we were about to encounter, they were among my least favorites. My friend ended up walking away with the 2008 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Supposedly, 2008 was an amazing year for Pinot Noir production in these parts. read more

My husband and I came in to taste for the first time ever the week of Valentines day, I think it was a Thursday, we came in about an hour before closing. We had had the wine before and were looking forward to checking out the tasting room. The wines were good, the whites stood out more than the reds. My gripe was with the service, the gentleman working fussed over the other people there and went out of his way to give out a bunch of coupons for free tastings cards, which I would not have noticed it it had not been done so loudly. We came back to Oregon again and of course had to do some wine tasting. Four Graces was suggested by our wine tour guide and I am very glad we came. The grounds here are beautiful and the test gardens are a great way to see the grapes at different points in their life-cycle. We were even permitted to sample some of the different strands of pinots. Very interesting and a great learning tool to actually touch and taste the grapes. From the moment we walked in to the when we left, the servers were personable and knowledgeable and were definitely able to answer all of our questions about the wines. Their 2012 Pinot Noir was fantastic. I know that 2012 was a year where a winery in Oregon couldn't miss but, theirs was super delicious. I definitely walked away with 2 bottles of it. I was happy to say that this was our first stop on our wine tour so my parents could get a good sense of what was to come!
