I was invited to join a new wine club member for a comp tasting over the weekend. It's a beautiful tasting room and the perfect size for just enough people. The staff is great and wander around the room engaging the guests in conversations, unlike other rooms where you get your pours and maybe a little education on what you're drinking. I really liked the Rose and our entire party made sure we didn't leave there without a few bottles. The cheese board or what they call, the Provisions board came in two parts and was outstanding. Big board came with fantastic cheeses, crackers and the dried figs were to die for. The 2nd part was filled with almonds, hazel nuts and huge green olives. I am looking forward to my return with my friend to cash in on the club members complimentary tastings for 4 guests/month. read more

Impressive winery that produces about 3500 cases annually. This is a unique boutique experience. Fell in love with the 2016 and 2018 Oregon Pinot Noir. Bought some for home. The dusky goose got its name from the owners love for hunting the now protected dusky goose. This was the first tasting where each of the four pours were in front of you. Usually it's one by one. It was the tasting professional at another established winery recommended the tasting experience at Dusky Goose to us. We experienced outstanding hospitality and the warmest welcome at a winery yet. Fantastic staff. Tasting was complementary for industry professionals. A stunning view of the vineyards is the first reward for visiting. We walked in and were very lucky to secure a tasting spot at an incredible patio table. The next luck that came our way was having Holly (and Scott) as our tasting sommelier. She (and later manager Jorge came by) answered our many questions about winemaking and vineyards. An exceptional white tea was served as a palate cleanser between the red course and the whites/rosé course: Bumblebee from Lake Oswego. The tea elevated the tasting and was so good we immediately added it to the take home list. A truly excellent charcuterie experience with dried figs, four different cheeses, three (or was it four) different cured meats, and the damn best olives we had tasted. We picked up a branded Pendleton wool picnic blanket, a bottle of Rambouillet Vineyard rosé and a Pinot Noir, and a tin of Bumblebee tea leaves. It helped that the Dusky Goose sagely extends a 20% discount for any purchases for industry professionals. There's also an excellent membership program. Our first visit to Dusky Goose winery was several weeks ago. Beautiful views from the deck and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We tried several Pinot Noir's and liked the one where the grapes were not grown on the property. The Pinot's grown at the winery were a little too volcanic and mineral tasting for us. The charcuterie board was awesome. Loved the experience and service but the wine not so much. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Dusky Goose. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Mark was attentive without being overbearing and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and the winemaking process. The setting is beautiful too--whether you're enjoying the views from the patio or exploring the vineyard, it's a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. Dusky Goose came on recommendation from my sommelier friend and it's about as 5 STARS as 5 STARS can get in my opinion. We had a really lovely time here and the Pinots were magical! Stunning tasting room, with the most gorgeous views. I felt like Snow White sitting there as flocks of the cutest cedar waxwings landed in the trees out front. They must have known I was there celebrating my birthday ;) Willamette is really giving Napa a run for their money. The vibes are immaculate. I want to transport myself back into this space instantly. I wish I had a case of them to start getting into tonight. I don't always love saying which bottles I enjoyed the most, especially when they are the highest price point because that's not always reflective of my taste in any one thing but... in this case, their 2017 Rambouillet Vineyard (single vineyard) Pinot was just divine and quite frankly $100 a bottle is really not that much. Can't wait to fly back up and visit again. Dusky Goose is not to be missed. Perfect place to spend with someone special. Lovely wines in an outdoor tasting room with heaters on during cold days. Great view of the mountains and valley and surrounding volcanic flow area. Sharon, the server, was very knowledgeable about the wines Dusky Goose offers as well as surrounding vineyards. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would! The property was lovely. We tasted the grapes right off the vines, then moved inside to try their Chardonnay. It was unlike any Napa Valley Chardonnay I've ever tried. Fabulous! Then we tried 6 Pinot noirs. All were great, a couple were exceptional! We were served a few snacks with the wine which made the tasting even better. Several people in my party of 8 bought wines, but Scott who served us the wines was not at all pushy. This was one of my favorite wines before I visited the vineyard. Now it is way above any other Oregon Pinot noir. All Pinots are not created equal. Dusky Goose is exceptional! read more

We came over Memorial Day weekend (read: SUPER BUSY) with a couple friends and the whole DG team made us feel like we were tasting in our living room. It was great & proved we're in great hands. Natalie did an amazing job with our tasting. As the only employee until the tasting room opens, she was more than accommodating to us - that speaks extremely well of their name and brand. The tasting room is still under construction until November; but we were able to enjoy quite a few of their wines and tour the new tasting room. It is going to be a gorgeous facility when it is finished and we hope to revisit it sometime soon. This is a very small winery but we thought their wines were excellent! They are smooth and well rounded and we were impressed enough to join their wine club. read more

This is a very difficult review to give. First, I would like to say that the wine from Dusky Goose is absolutely exquisite. Their pinot's provide a flavor that many others only wish they could achieve. The views from Dusky Goose are breathtaking. The cozy cabin look, complete with a rustic fireplace, gives you the feeling of being in a Swiss Chalet. Upon our arrival, we were greeted at the door by Susan, the tasting room host. She made us feel right at home. Susan was extremely knowledgeable and even provided us with a short tour, which made our tasting experience even more enjoyable. This was our first stop of the day, and we truly felt we had never had a more pleasurable, intimate experience. Now, why this review is given 1 star. Twords the end of the tasting, while we were discussing the wine club membership with Susan, another employee, Pamela, rudely interrupted our discussion and asked to see Susan in the back. This struck us as a very odd interaction, as we were in the middle of a conversation. However, Susan excused herself and followed Pamela. There, Pamela proceeded to reprimand Susan on the size of her pours and the amount of time she was spending with us (we were THE ONLY two people there, as it is by appointment only). We could hear every word Pamela said. Susan explained that she was spending this time with us because we were interested in joining their wine club, at which point Pamela said, "I do not care if they want to join, your pours are too large." The embarrassment we felt in this moment was incomprehensible. I understand if there needs to be an exchange of words with an employee, but it is COMPLETELY inexcusable to do this in front of your customer, let alone, two customers that were about to give you around $400, three times a year for your wine club. Sadly, this ruined our entire experience. It was very hard to move on from that awkward exchange and we left immediately after, sans a wine club membership. read more

Beautiful! I have been to a lot of wineries both domestic and abroad and this experience struck me as one where every detail had been thought of and the hospitality was A+. Natalie knows what she's talking about. You feel like you're in a luxurious forest cabin with an incredible view of the hills and valleys. Because they don't make a lot of different wines, you get to taste back/library vintages which was really fun. Oregon Pinot is such a unique expression of the grape and seeing how it ages and develops is a real treat. In addition, tasting how a gifted winemaker like Lynn Penner-Ash handles different vintages makes you appreciate the wine that much more! read more

Amazing wine and knowledgeable sommeliers. If you enjoy exceptional wine, everyone knows that this is where you go. A quality winery does not cater to the masses-they cater to those that understand and appreciate a nice bottle of wine, it regardless of how expensive or inexpensive the bottle. I have lived in the Willamette valley my entire life and highly recommend this winery as a lifetime tasting experience. I saw one prior review below and was a little off put by the reviewer. She clearly doesn't understand our native Oregon culture and would have understood what the sommelier was saying if she did. She was simply saying that they're not there to "sell" anyone a "club membership". They sell amazing wine and it speaks for itself...and that's ok to say. Also-there's only two sommeliers there and they're both amazing. It's appointment only, so call ahead. I'll add, I spoke with Bill Stoller, owner of the very large Stoller winery (also wonderful and huge/fun tasting room) and when Dusky Goose was mentioned, he raised a brow and said "oh, you like exceptional wine". I said yes, I do! Go to Dusky Goose. Amazing! Like no other. I fill my cellar with good wine, not the winery with the most entertaining staff. Everyone know winery staff is more knowledgeable and less "sales". read more

5 stars for the wine and the tasting room with view but the lady pouring for us was rather pretentious, name dropping multiple times which was off-putting. The owner is supposed to be very unpretentious so he might be upset to hear she said things to us like "we would like to have you in our club but we don't need you as we don't need to appeal to the masses." I get what she was trying to convey but it just came off sounding really snobby. When the economy takes a downturn and people have less disposable income to spend $100 on a bottle of wine, you might just regret saying things like this. That being said, the tasting room and view were stunning. I would like to give it another chance but my husband was so put off by the attitude of the woman in the tasting room he won't go back. We have a generous sized cellar to fill with wine and like to collect but probably won't be back because of the attitude encountered. read more
