I loved this place!! Katherine was beyond the nicest person we have met here. She definitely made the visit so special with her friendliness and knowledge. We purchased the Freedom Hill Dijon and several bottles of their reserve- delicious. I can't wait to return.

We came here after a tasting at Domaine Serene, which was not very good and kind of expensive. Patricia Green blew them out of the water. Service was much friendlier and available and interesting. The wine was also much better ... clean and delicious. It was much more of what I thought an Oregon, relaxed and casual, hip and cool winery would be like. We bought several bottles to ship home ... planned to get theee bottles and they gave us a really good discount to get a fourth, which we gladly took advantage of.

Best wine tasting we did while in the willamette valley! The staff was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about the vineyard history. While doing our tasting, we received chilled water and a small plate of bites. The building is beautiful and the indoor seating was comfortable - the outdoor seating overlooked the vineyard. We wound up ordering a case to be delivered to our home! Highly recommended

We didn't know what the expect before heading to Patricia Green Cellars for our scheduled tasting, but let me tell you, this beat all of our expectations. Tasting fee: $40 per person ($50 for shared tastings), which includes a flight of 5-7 wines with a small cheese pairing. One tasting fee will be waived for each purchase of 6 bottles. Service: Talk about passion! Our tasting was so incredible, we learned so much and were able to try some really fantastic and diverse wines. Best Menu Item: The entire tasting menu was fantastic, but the standout wine for me, was the 2017 Patty Green Commemorative. P.S. Make sure to say hello to the very friendly wine pup, Ziggy!

    PGC Tasting Room

Had a rare free Sat and decided to go to a winery for a tasting. Heard good things about Patricia Green Cellars so decided to walk in. Reservations are taken, but we didnt really plan it. The wine country near Newberg is stunning so the short ride out was lovely. Be sure to keep your eye on the map bc you can pass the driveway into the winery is a blink of an eye. The tasting room is so cozy when you come in. Seating is half indoors and equal amount outdoors. I think you can even bring your own food as I saw a party with to-go boxes at a picnic table. Ask before showing up bc I'm not certain. As you enter the tasting room, you're casually greeted by the nicest staff. I didnt feel pounced on. It was more like a 'Oh hey, welcome in' greeting that felt natural. The ambiance is so cozy and warm. Felt like walking into someone's really nice cabin instead of a business. And the furniture was so comfortable! Our wine tasting guide was Ryan and he was AMAZING! So knowlegeable, passionate about his craft and took the time to sit and chat with us. We started out with a xomplimentary Sav Blanc that was so lite and crisp. Then the tasting started and we had 6 different Pinot Noirs from all the different regions of the Willamette Valley. They even provide a map so get a visual of where the grapes are grown. The wines were fantastic. So silky and easy to drink. Low tanins, which I like. I'd say more New Worl vs Old World, but I'm no expert by any means. All I know was that they were delicious, easy to drink, and paired nicely with the complimentary salty cheese plate. I forgot to take a pic of the menu, but we ended up getting the Medici wine. In my mind I will pair it with some mussels or a lite cioppino. We even got to taste a few wines that were not on the menu which was really nice. I prefer Whites to Reds so I got to taste an Oregon Chardonnay that is NOT oak-ey. It was so nice. Ultimately we got a 2nd bottle called 'Mysterious' bc the fruit comes from a nearby and well respected farm that wishes to keep private. But we've heard its remarkable from some wine enthusiast friends that live in the area too... By the time we left, we were surprised to realize we had spent 3 hours there! We never felt rushed nor ignored with an empty glass. It truly was a lovely leisurely Sat of sipping wine and making new friends. We will be back, hopefully in Sept to see the harvest in action! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!!

    Pre-poured tasting

Come for the wine, stay for the doggos! Zoe, Maggie, Sam, and Chompers joined us as we sampled wine while overlooking the vineyards. We appreciated that the tastings were pre-poured so that we could self-pace the experience. We all took bottles with us, including a really good "still" rose and many Pinot noirs. Caroline was super friendly and answered our many, many wine questions. Several of our party also joined the waitlist for the waitlist for the wine club. Highly recommend if you're in the Willamette Valley.

The staff was polite, welcoming, and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. The experience was like going into a nice home, next to a vineyard, for wine and cheese. Lovely atmosphere. Our group of eight had a Saturday afternoon reservation. We arrived and were seated before 12:30pm and left by around 1:45pm. This did not appear to be a big operation. During our visit, I saw only two lady employees tending to all the customers. Rain Dance has indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside. Regardless of where you sit, there are good views of the property's vineyard and garden. It's beautiful and serene. Shortly after our tasting began, a bachelorette party left. Therefore, we had the inside all to ourselves save for a couple seated by the window. The weather was pleasant so several doors to the house were left open, creating a calm, gentle breeze. We had the wines listed below. Individual bottle prices are from the time of our tasting and descriptions are from Rain Dance's website at the time of writing this review ( https://raindancevineyards.com/shop/ ). * 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "Classic aromas and flavors of stone fruit and tropical flowers are lifted by vibrant acidity on the palate. This drier-style Riesling allows for so much versatility at the dinner table, but fish dishes are our favorites." * 2023 Grand Oak Gewurztraminer. $32 for 750-mL bottle. "A Rain Dance favorite! Gewurztraminer is a rare find in Oregon, especially in such a dry style. Its lively notes of jasmine, peach and spice box are perfect for Asian and Indian dishes loaded with their own exotic spices." * 2022 Estate Pinot Noir Cuvee. $45 for 750-mL bottle. "Fresh notes of cherries, pomegranate, plums, black pepper, pipe tobacco, and cinnamon." * 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir. $60 for 750-mL bottle. "Bright and fresh with a complex assortment of dark cherries, raspberries, cranberries, intermingled with thyme, sage, and cinnamon." Since the time of our visit, I think the 2022 Grand Oak Vineyard Riesling and the 2021 Grand Oak Vineyard Pinot Noir have been replaced by 2023 and 2022 vintages, respectively. We also had at least two charcuterie boards ($35 each) that included crackers, roasted hazelnuts, onion jam, pork rillettes, raisins, and three kinds of cheese. The total cost for our group for everything was $336, which worked out to $42 per person. While I've been to a lot of wineries/vineyards and done a lot of wine tastings (just search my reviews), I'm still by no means a wine connoisseur. All I can say about Rain Dance is I thought all of the wines were enjoyable. All four, from the riesling to the pinot noirs, were delectable. They smelled and tasted well made and high quality. In short, I enjoyed our visit to Rain Dance and thought it was worth the visit. Rain Dance Vineyards is named after owners and founders Celia and Ken Austin's Rain Dance Ranch. The ranch was established in 1991 and the vineyard was established in 2009.

Husband and wife founders and owners Jim and Stephanie Houchins are nothing short of fantastic. The wines we tasted were excellent. After meeting Jim and Stephanie, I could really see the passion they had for wine and their vineyard. Oliver Springs is truly a labor of love for them. According to their website ( https://oliverspringsvineyard.com/ ), their first vintage year was 2016 and they "are currently producing approximately 300 cases a year, making [them] a micro-boutique winery." Our tasting consisted of the following wines: * 2021 Chardonnay * 2019 Estate Pinot Noir * 2021 Estate Pinot Noir * 2019 Kieta's Block Pinot Noir * 2019 Sasha's Block Pinot Noir The tasting, regularly $25 per person, included a sheet with tasting notes. Stephanie conducted the tasting and Jim assisted. Jim also took us on an educational and informative tour of the vineyard. Oliver Springs has multiple grape clones, which are cut and grafted from the same mother vines. I'm no wine expert/connoisseur, but I believe the general thought is clones produce more consistent, higher-quality wines. The Kieta and Sasha Block Pinot Noirs were named after two of Jim and Stephanie's huskies. A third husky, Mosey (Mozzie? I'm not sure how to spell it.), joined us for our tasting and vineyard tour, which added to the experience. :) Oliver Springs is a small operation. I believe the vineyard is only about 3.5 acres. I know it's not Stephanie's full-time job and I guess probably not for Jim either. They're open on weekends by appointment only. Our group of eight visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. We left shortly after 12:00pm. They have a relatively small, simple, clean, and modern building with a tasting room inside. Unlike many other wineries, this one provides an intimate, get-to-know-the-owners type wine-tasting experience. Several of us ended up ordering wine afterwards. The wine cost anywhere from $42 to $50 per bottle. As is customary, they have wine clubs you can join as well. See my pictures or contact them for more info.
