This is my second time here, but I really enjoy their Friday nights. Between 5 and 9 PM the live music and the rotating food truck is a perfect way to end a week. Staff was courteous and the sunset could not have been better.

Friday evenings in the summer cannot be beat! Use the provided indoor or outdoor tables or bring your own lawn chairs, buy a bottle or 2 and sit back and relax or dance to the live music with the amazing view right behind you. Food truck and music on Fridays (check website)

Great hill top tasting room, amazing view point to the valley below, whites, 3 Pinots, 2 stronger reds and a rose! Owner was wearing a Tool T-Shirt (is he friends with Caduceus cellars?) and the music line up was on point too. They have lots of room to spread out. Get your sun on! Picnics welcome. I almost went for the GSM but the Pinot 32 was balanced and light on the palate. Look at those clouds in my 2 photos! I'll definitely recommend and come back here for the good vibes. Salute

Strange vibes from this place, which is more like a brewery than a place to try wines

About a year ago, he took care of us at Stoller as they are partners. Finnley is quite knowledgeable but equally engaging. Thank You again Finnley. We tasted a fun Brut, Chardonnay, Gamay, Rose and of course a tremendous Pinot Noir. The food is also incredible as we enjoyed the Arancini, Focaccia Bread, and Tuna and Crab Salads. We love the food, and the service remains top notch.

Its new location is off of Bell Road in Sherwood and it's worth the drive to catch amazing views of Mt. Hood. Now the facts. The staff at this winery is the best in field. Once you enter the absolutely stunning room, you are greeted by the engaging servers. I have never felt like being a part of the Cool Kids club, and that's the feeling I get. Everyone knows you by name and I even received a personalized note from my server when I broke down and joined the club. The food prepared by Chef Brent is so yummy. Don't pass up the chocolate cookies, a fantastic pairing with the Ridgecrest Pinot. Great wine, food, fun people and right off of 99. I would say, make this your next stop when wine tasting, but you might never leave.

We scheduled a tasting for 10a as their main event person happened to be getting married and we were glad they were able to accommodate us. Wine for Breakfast? Heck, it WAS 1p EDT so it worked out. Their tasting room wasn't necessarily elegant, but the glasses were all set up for us and we began promptly. It was a rainy morning and we did get to walk through one of the vineyards, eat some grapes from the vine, and hear about Chehalem. We also toured the winery with the tanks and workers being friendly and doing their thing as it was time to make the wine. The tasting was done very well and what was very interesting was we tried the same Chardonnay from a narrow glass and a wide glass and they tasted completely different. Who would have thunk it? The science of wine! We joined the club (they waive the tasting fees if you join) and our box just arrived (they ship to FL later so the heat doesn't ruin the wine), which made me write the review. I wish I knew about that before the great quarantine of 2020. Anyway, what an excellent experience from our host at Chehalem. They also have a tasting room in Downtown Newberg by the food trucks where the road splits. If we ever go back (we want to), we may stop to see what's new.

The gewürztraminer was a little funky-- and not in the usual way lol-- but not bad. I got a couple bottles of the Riesling. The gentleman pouring was great. He chatted with me a little bit about growing up and picking grapes (son of the owner) and he gave me about 1/2 a bottle of one of his creations to go. It was excellent. We will be back. Space is tight indoors, and had it been cooler we would have sat outside (ample seating). Pretty quiet when we went, but that could be the holiday. Altogether a great find.

Walked in one day and was surprised to see how busy they were. Nothing too crazy, but the standing bar top was full so we hung out at the lower counter on the other side. The man pouring, Matt, was awesome. So friendly and funny, and handled the crowd well. Water and oyster crackers available as a palette cleanser. Their tasting menu and wines are SHOCKINGLY inexpensive. Maybe that's why I was so caught off guard at how good the wine was? He explained to us that they rent out their facilities and machines to other surrounding wineries which pays a lot of their overhead and therefore they don't need to charge absurd prices on their bottles. What a cool concept! Towards the end of our tasting, the crowd cleared out and we were the only ones left so Matt took us on a private tour around the whole facility. It was really awesome to see all the steps of the process, including the bottling/labeling machine which I had never seen before. Went into the barrel room too. The whole place is clean and nice. It was so fun to be shown around like that! He was so great. Even let us taste extra wines outside the tasting menu and a couple straight out of the tap on the holding tank! We bought a few bottles, how could you not when they're this cheap! The Pinot Gris stood out to me as it seemed much fruitier and juicier than what I've tasted before. We also loved the Maréchal Foch which they serve with a piece of dark chocolate, and the Port version of this as well! Sooo good. Thanks Matt and August cellars for giving us a great time! We will certainly be back!

We visited during a Wine Share month, a great way to discover new wineries without any risk. The Garden Cottage tasting room on the lower level of the property was not open in February so we enjoyed our tasting in the home. literally. We sat in the living room on couches around a coffee table while the adjacent dining room was being utilized by a party of 8. it was a great vibe, warm and inviting. Our host explained they use regenerative farming and winemaking processes. Their wines are aged in clay amphora casks, something we had never heard of, which imparts unique, earthy characteristics. Since the clay allows for a slow oxidation, the wine has softer flavors without the oak derived butter, vanilla and spice flavors. It's a middle ground between the oxidation of oak bottles and the more sterile stainless steal. We enjoyed the education and the wines! Would love to come back in the spring or summer for the full Garden Cottage experience. Since this is a small, family owned winery, tastings are by appointment only. Their website has the link.
