They have several spaces for tastings, both for members and guests new to SB, indoor and outdoor, kid and dog friendly, with an incredible view of the not only the vineyards but the mountains. They have several small bite food options, the charcuterie or cheese boards are perfectly paired with the tasting menu choices for that day, there was a fresh baked focaccia today that was heaven. Oh and I have not even mentioned the fantastic wines yet. Whether you are a red or white fan, like whole cluster or small, tannins or less tannins, sweet or full bodied reds, you can find them at SB. And that is not to say they make such a variety that they are spread thin cause that's what I would think if I read that. They are meticulous about every wine they make, it's special, has specific flavors, pairs with particular foods well, each year with its vintage that every one has their own favorites of. We were greeted warmly by Kira Teppola, who now carries on the legacy started by her father, founder David Teppola. From the moment she began sharing her family's story -- from her father's early fascination with French wine to his pioneering belief in the Willakenzie Loam soils -- we were captivated. Kira's knowledge of the land, the vines, and the winemaking process was extraordinary. Her enthusiasm was contagious; we hung on every word and felt truly connected to the spirit of Laurel Ridge. Even the family vineyard dog, who was initially a bit cautious, became our friend by the end of the visit! The wines were exceptional. My favorite was the 2017 Barrel Select Pinot Noir, beautifully balanced and expressive of the terroir. We enjoyed it so much we opened a bottle that very night. The next day, I couldn't stop thinking about the bright, refreshing 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, so we went back just to buy more! Kira graciously set us up with a picnic table outside under a heat lamp so we could enjoy lunch overlooking the estate -- and even poured us a little more wine "so we wouldn't get thirsty." It's rare to find a place that feels this genuine -- where every glass tells a story, and every detail reflects generations of care. The staff is great and wander around the room engaging the guests in conversations, unlike other rooms where you get your pours and maybe a little education on what you're drinking. I really liked the Rose and our entire party made sure we didn't leave there without a few bottles. The cheese board or what they call, the Provisions board came in two parts and was outstanding. Big board came with fantastic cheeses, crackers and the dried figs were to die for. The 2nd part was filled with almonds, hazel nuts and huge green olives. I am looking forward to my return with my friend to cash in on the club members complimentary tastings for 4 guests/month.
