It sits on a hillside with the fields of grapes splayed out before you. It's beautiful. It's literally Utopia. I wish that it remained a utopian experience. I don't know about you but I expect excellent service while at a winery. This time when we visited Utopia, albeit our tasting flights were comped, their goal at the end of the day is to get you to buy a bottle(s) or become a wine club member. So when I go limping in and ask the man behind the counter if he can recycle my glass bottle he says yes he can but then as I approach him he tells me I can just go ahead and take it outside to the white bin. From this interaction I left the tasting room and the winery host and that the winery host with the strong sensation of sour grapes. The host arrived with very good timing just as most of us had finished off our first pour which was as I recall a very fruity, like and alcohol fruit salad served very chilled. It was actually quite good. Next came three Pinot noirs. I typically do not care fore Pinot noir wines, But I will usually find at least one Pinot that pleases me. This was no exception. The first Pinot in our flight was ok. I was the wine list showed only our tasting flight. The second Pinot was a delight, it was full flavored and peppery, such a nice surprise. The last Pinot I don't think anyone liked. On to the Chardonnay. It was described to us as being aged in first oak, and then stainless steel. But the server never went thru the wines and explain the origin or the history of the wines. This was a negative as the winery we previously visited had an informative narrative as part of the presentation. There are so many wineries in the Willamette region, and we will continue to taste at many others. But I will not recommend Ardiri as one for new visitors to visit.

The other reviews are not kidding when they praise the view! The space is absolutely gorgeous-- the tasting room feels luxurious and comfortable, and tables are not too close together. But wow, the view takes the cake. You overlook the vineyards, and even though it was cold and cloudy we were blown away. What really impressed me, though, was the service. Our sommelier, Adam, was incredibly personable and a joy to talk to. Further, he was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the wine-- not just the tasting notes and region. He knew a ton about the history of the land/winemaking in this specific part of Oregon and the ecological preservation efforts of winemakers in the area. He produced photos and diagrams of different soil types and explained how they impact the taste of the wine when we did side-by-sides. When I mentioned I had a chemistry background and expressed interest in the chemistry of the winemaking process, he was able to speak in detail about their wines and the ways they are made (probably because he's actually worked in the cellars, too, not just in customer service). As I have mentioned in other reviews, I don't always feel like I get a great customer service experience at wineries because my partner and I are pretty young and because I often have on alternative makeup. We were given A+ treatment here, and I want to thank Adam for making the experience feel special. The wine was good. We got a bonus pour of one of their sparkling wines to start, which was lovely and a nice romantic touch since we were celebrating. I liked their Chardonnay (concrete egg and VERY light oak which is probably why-- I don't like a heavy, buttery Chard) and was surprised it was so good-- it was a seven-year-old white which is unusual, but it really worked. We got side-by-side pours of the pinots, which was great-- I love when wineries do this! It makes it so much easier to taste the different notes. We ended up getting a bottle of their Riesling. The tasting was $25, which is an absolute steal for the level of service we got. Truly a wonderful time, and we look forward to returning.

We were met by Felix, the owner, and while sampling some excellent wines, he asked if we wanted to see him feed the sheep. What a treat! This is a small winery with low production but it's big on friendliness and great wines, and reasonably priced. We left feeling like we were friends and will be back for sure. Highly recommend!

If I had the money I would have come home with a variety case. Pricing of wines are extremely reasonable and the quality of the wines are amazing! I'm not a Pinot Noir person as a rule, but he had 3 that I could drink very happily. He also had the best, bar none, a GSM!!!! That did go home with me. The 2021 Merlot-Malbec was so delicious that it also came home with me. The Syrah and Melbec oh my! Seriously if you haven't been or it's been a while you need to go! Ever since then I've always enjoyed picking up a Pinot Noir to share with friends and family. My sister and I had the opportunity to visit the property for a full tasting. It was beautiful scenery with the blocks of grapes, open concept inside, and all the flowers where you could watch little hummingbirds. We went for my sister's birthday and they surprised us with a delicious Chocolate ganache cake paired with the last Pinot in our tasting. We can't wait to return and try the other wines that are offered at this venue.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was our last winery stop before we headed back to Portland and we were fortunate to snag a seat outside overlooking Mount Hood. This place also doubles as an Airbnb so if there's ever a stay the night kind of deal, this winery offers it. I got the wine tasting of four which consisted of a pinot gris, cab franc, pinot noir and a rose of pinot noir. My favorite out of the bunch was surprisingly the cab franc, even though we were in pinot country. Very green and vegetal tasting. It was a weird way to get to the bathroom which I had to walk around the building because the farmer was sleeping in the main room. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a tasting was around $28. I'd say a good value and good wines with a great view.
