My Son and I stopped here on our way back to Beaverton from Pacific City. What I really wanted to do was taste their Ransom Brandy, which at a 22 year ago, was smooth and satisfying. UPDATE 7/9/25 Almost hate to give this away because I think that the sale is only until they run out, but I want to share the wealth-- apparently a lot of their bottles are on sale this summer for $6.50 whites and $8.00 reds. This is older vintages and what looks to be wine from the label they just acquired (Firesteed I believe?) Great stuff, though, and hard to beat those prices! Also, the woman pouring for us on July 4th was absolutely lovely. Not only was she very warm and knowledgeable, she called me less than five minutes after I left to help me get my jacket and purse since I left them behind. Their little speakeasy room is a great spot to taste, as is the garden this time of year. read more

This winery is still fancy and charming. You can get yummy charcuterie boards starting at $14 without meat or $26 with meat. The boards are spectacular with a variety of cheeses, nuts, cranberries (and dried apricots), olives, crackers, and chocolate. The wine is delicious and the wine tastings are $20, which is fair. I came here in 2022 and am back in 2025 and the prices are still the same. I am extremely impressed with the customer service and the food and wine offerings. One of my favorite wineries in Dundee. Overall, 3.5 Wine: I'm not a wine snob or anything. Overall, I enjoyed most of what I drank! Service: Left a bit to be desired. The man who was pouring for us wasn't very enthused or friendly. I tried to engage him in conversation, asking about the winery but didn't get much of a response. He was also a bit gruff when we were trying to purchase one of the spirit glasses and asking about which bottles to buy to get our tasting fees waived. Ambiance: The outdoors was beautiful. I don't think the pictures that I saw beforehand on their website did it justice. Though it was an overcast day, we enjoyed our wine/ spirits outside so we could look out at the garden. I stopped by to try the spirits, not the wine this time. The spirits are really enjoyable! The Gin is smooth with the Old Geezer being the roundest of them and a perfect sipper. The girl inside helped me pick a few and she was spot on with her suggestions. I loved sitting outside on the patio and watching the bees on the flowers and the storm blow in. This would be a great friend/family together spot or just a solo unwind spot. read more

We stopped by here on our drive down Hwy 99 since they were one of the wineries that allowed us to bring our own lunch. Tucked a little off the beaten path, Duck Pond Cellars Tasting Room might not be the most buzzed-about stop in wine country--but it should be! Our group popped in on a whim and ended up having an awesome time, thanks in large part to the incredible Sara(h) (with or without the "h"--either way, she's a gem!). She took amazing care of our party--super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the wines. She even snuck us a few extra little tastes and tipped us off to some specials and upcoming events. Instant fan.The space itself is relaxed and welcoming, and while it may not have the huge crowds of some of the flashier spots, the wines absolutely hold their own. After being rejected by multiple wineries in Dundee for not having reservations, we went to Duck Pond as the last hope. It was quite here and the staff was so happy to see us. Everyone followed mask guidence. Everything was so clean there. I'm very impressed with the big yard and beautiful garden they have there. Landscaping is taken care, flowers were blooming and the tiny Koi fish pond with one fake duck in it. Ray, one of the staff was extremely nice and kind for taking us on a tour on the last minute. He is very knowledgeable about the products they make there. I also appreciate everyone who works there- they were so friendly and nice to us. Will choose Duck pond as the first stop instead of other too popular wineries in Dundee. read more

I like Duck Pond. I liked it a whole lot more before I really got into wine. It is a great winery for beginners or those trying out their first weekend of wine tasting. The wine is affordable, sold widely in grocery stores and tastes better than other brands in it's price range. Most recently I came in with my husband and another couple lured in by the Yelp discount and the fact it is only 2 miles away from our house. It was Superbowl Sunday and not very busy. We bought some Chardonnay, the Mingle and a few other bottles. We were rung up incorrectly (my husband had to point it out) and it took far to long to correct, at least 15 minutes. The staff was friendly during our tasting, and apologetic that we were overcharged. Overall the experience and wine is right in line with 3 stars, just ok. read more

I will start by saying that I am not a huge fan of Duck Pond wines myself however, their service impressed the heck out of me. I took a tour of this vineyard with a group and had a blast. The server was very sweet, knowledgeable and spoiled us. I learned a great deal about wine and the process of making wine I was grateful for and still am! We were also given very tasty cheeses, breads and fruits to go with our wines. Our tour ended with a lovely Port and some chocolate in the courtyard. It was a very nice experience. At the end I will say I was grateful I did not have to deal with their tasting room due to the people. It seemed very crowded with the younger crowd who were just loud and rude and from what I understand, that is common. It just seemed a bit chaotic and made me understand why a lot of vineyards have gone to appointments only. read more

This is a nice little winery that seemed to be popular with the younger crowd. The wines are friendly, entry-level and affordable. You can score a nice Chardonnay for $10.00. I think this would be a good winery for those who have never done a wine tasting before as they offer complimentary wine tastings. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable about the wines they had to offer and our glasses were never empty. There is also a very cute little gift shop with an array of wine related art, food items, and of course wine for purchase. Outside you will find a lovely picnic area with a couple of tables surrounded by lush hanging baskets of vibrant flowers. Although this lovely little winery has a happy, welcoming vibe, I am not in a huge hurry to go back. It really is not unique enough to draw me back any time soon. There are too many other places yet to discover. I do recommend it Duck Pond as a stop for first-time wine tasters. read more

Lynette is fantastic!! We visited two other wineries on Saturday and the flight Lynette created was by far our favorite. She made us feel so welcome and so at home and is a super personable human who really seems to love what she does. We ended up leaving with four bottles. Second stop in the vineyard tour. Got the red flight for tasting. The wines they had on their flight list, both regular and premium were not very good. Everything I tried, I didn't like so I never ended up buying anything from here. The sales person seemed to not care if we were there or not and that made the experience even worse. They did have a funny clock though that said "No wine before 9" but all the numbers on the clock was 9. IDK, just something that caught my eye. Side note, there were a lot of dogs here. Like 3 families with dogs came here. They weren't allowed inside but they had them walking around the grassy areas and on the tables outside. read more

It was crowded and took awhile between each of the pours and I only liked one of the wines out of them all...so they were just "so-so" to me....so much better wines out there I feel and not so crowded!! read more

Duck Pond cellars is such a cute winery! I'm not sure why there are even negative reviews! We stopped by this winery cause we wanted to compare Oregon wines to Napa! This was the only winery we can find in the area that offered complimentary tastings and the wine was actually not bad! The staff here were super friendly and very helpful. The pours are also very generous! We ended up only spending around $10 for two tastings and a bottle of wine! Not bad at all! On top of the complimentary tasting my BF and I opted to try the red wine flight. We bought a bottle and showed them our Yelp Check In discount and we ended up getting around 20% off - on top of that they comped our tasting! Unbelievable! The grounds are also gorgeous! I had to give this place another shot, since I can't believe I had one of the only good experiences here. I had another fun time today at Duck Pond, thanks to our tasting host Christy and a great tasting flight! The building is pretty unique, compared to the other places in the area; it almost looks southern-plantation-esque, but I'm definitely not a southerner, so don't quote me on that. While I didn't love each of the tastings, I did like the variety they offered. Their wines don't blow my mind, but they're good for the price. I prefer the whites, and I really enjoyed the Duck Pond Mingle - I had to take a bottle of it home with me. My other favorite was the Gewürztraminer. I had to pick up another one of those chocolate truffles by John Kelley Chocolates. Unlike other reviewers, I really enjoyed their selection of oils, rubs, and cooking goodies, and don't think their offering such cheapens the place. Many of their products are made with Duck Pond wines. I really don't understand where all the negativity comes from! I've visited most of the other vineyards in the area, and Duck Pond is on my list when I'm out for a day of tastings. Oh - and I come out this way quite often on the weekends, and I've never experienced bad traffic. Just sayin'. :) read more

Maybe the better wines we had a couple of days prior spoiled me, but these ones tasted like metal. Mom and I were heading down to Dundee for day two of utilizing our wine passports and I quickly pulled off of the road when we saw Duck Pond as some of the other tasting rooms mentioned Duck Pond was one of the bigger wineries. The outside set-up is very pretty with lovely landscaping and outside tables in the front. The tasting room, as others have mentioned, needs an update. Lots of knick-knacks. The tastings are the right price (free) unless you go for a more premium flight at $5....which oddly have most of the same wines as the free flight. I would just go for the free flight (and I did). Wines are very decently priced at $12-20, but there's a reason. They're just not that good. I wasn't compelled to buy anything (they did have a Washington viognier for purchase, not to taste, but given the other tastes, it wasn't something I wished to go blindly into). The sales folk weren't terribly engaged either. Unless you're a fan of free (or cheap wine), I'd say pass. read more

My daughter and I visited this vineyard on a whim, and it ended up being the highlight of our day! Of course the wine was incredible and we had so much fun tasting the different varieties they had, but the employees working were friendly, sweet, and very informative. Make sure to ask for John on your visit, a retiree who is so friendly, accommodating, and informative on all things wine related (and even can give you information about the nearby area!) We absolutely loved our time at the Duck Pond, and it is beautiful just sitting outside and enjoying the views. We will most definitely be coming back soon! read more

Great winery, have been here twice now and can say they have my favorite pinot noir in all of oregon. The pinot gris is hit or miss year to year depending on your palate. Service was very knowledgable and friendly. free tasting on their regular offerings, and five for the premium flights. (but refunded it you buy a bottle and im sure you will) But beware the drive. We went at 2 on friday thinking we would have plenty of time to see a few wineries before they close around 5. BEWARE 99W. what is a 25 min drive from portland turned into an hour due to traffice bottlenecking right after duck pond. The Pinot Noir as mentioned above is awesome. It is expensive at 20 dollars a bottle but worht the value as in my opinion you have to pay a little more for a good pinot. The 2010 pinot gris was awesome as well. very floral with perfume afternotes. the 2009 was on clearance and we had this as well. Wow what a difference each year makes in this wine. But to each their own when it comes to wine. We ended up purchasing the syrah and the 2010 duck pond merlot, along with the two pinot. There prices are very good for the area and the wine. So go here but check traffic and call first to see when is a good time to come so you dont sit in traffic for hours waiting to sample great pinot. Dont forget to get the yelp deal, pay the ten online as you can get a 20 dollar bottle for half price. read more

Pros: the wines are inexpensive, and it's easy to find. Cons: the wines taste like they're inexpensive, and it's frequently crowded. It's not terrible, but there are many, many other wine tasting options in the Dundee area, which I can't help but compare Duck Pond to. read more

I have toured all the wineries in this area and out of them, none compared to Duck Pond. From customer service, to education, to price - they do not disappoint. I love this winery and we stopped in during the Memorial Weekend area tastings. It wasn't that busy and it took forever to get greeted or acknowledged. I felt like they were a bit understaffed. They have a nice outdoor seating area. The Blanc Pinot was my favorite! They had some unique wines available. I would definitely do a tasting if you haven't. Staff was very nice and sweet. They have a cute little shop with some neat gifts available for purchase and carry a lot of Oregon sourced food items. The grounds are very pretty! Traffic can get a bit rough on the main road it's off of. No food service available. read more

This was the first stop on a day of wine tasting. Duck Pond is a beautiful location that my boyfriend and I were excited to experience. When we arrived, the tasting room was empty. We were greeted by several friendly people and were immediately assisted with a tasting. The lady who served us initially was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a lot of great information as we sampled our first couple of wines. Then she had to step away because they were hosting an event for their wine club members. So another woman stepped in....and that's where it went downhill. The replacement woman was nice enough...until she started pushing the wine club. I'm not sure if they work on commission here, but that's what it felt like. She mentioned wine club no less than 10 times during the half hour or so we were there, even after we expressed that we had several other stops to make and that we would take a brochure and think about it. Three stars because the location was beautiful and the wine flight was good....but the one lady really brought our experience down. But hey, maybe it's better if you're in the wine club? read more
