We wanted a good steak for dinner and ended up here. We ordered the big Porterhouse steak and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly and the side of mushroom and onions was a great compliment. We also shared the Buratta salad and mashed potatoes. Both were very good and would order again. The restaurant was packed with a big party/table and only one server. We swung into here a little later in the evening hoping for a steak. Sadly the day we showed up (Sunday evening) they were out of steaks as they said their delivery was late. We found out once we had been sat down. Even though they told us steaks were not on menu and we said we will probably leave, they brought out bread to us. It smelled wonderful and the butter (I think it was melted) smelled delicious too, but we didn't eat it and went ahead and left. It seemed to be a cute little place to eat. I was really hoping to like this place. We ordered drinks (really good and fresh tasting). The chowder isn't for me, it has carrots and red bell peppers in it and more of a fish flavor than clam. Cesar salad was delicious. I ordered the 8oz filet. The presentation is beautiful, but you should be able to cut a filet like butter and I was not able to with this one. It was tough and chewy. Husband had the same issue with his ribeye. The sides were good. The worst part of the meal was our service. I watched our waitress look at us several times but never came over after our food was served. She was going to all of her other tables, but not us. We ultimately ended up flagging another server to get our check. I'm glad we tried but will not be returning. read more

We came here as it was close to the neighborhood. There weren't many people, only one large group, at the time we went. We were able to get our order in quickly - a filet mignon, ribeye, mashed potatoes, and mushroom risotto. The steaks were properly cooked and came out reasonably quick. The steaks were decent. I did enjoy the mushroom risotto the most. Overall, it's a good local spot to get some food. read more

Started off a little rough but by the time we left we were all happy, satisfied and stuffed! Our party of 5 was here to celebrate my son's 18th birthday, service was slow but come to find out Dad and son team (Daniel/Diego) were working the whole place themselves tonight. Since Diego was playing multiple roles things took a little longer and our order had one incorrect item which they fixed right away. Despite the wait- the food is spectacular! Mashed potatoes are heavenly, the 6oz filet was cooked to perfection and topped with herbed butter which was fabulous! Lamb chops were delicious and the flat iron steak was also a hit for the table. We've been here a few times. I always think the steak is amazing. This time around we came for their anniversary promotion. Unfortunately, they stated no where on the promotion that it was only one free entree per PARTY. I came with my fiance for a date night and we were both expecting to get a free entree (pictures posted in this review) and splurge on drinks and desserts, so we were a bit bummed to find our server telling us it's only one entree per table. Please make this apparent next time you want to bring in customers :( We are forgoing any future visits because it was clear you wanted to get customers in without being completely forthcoming and honest. On an additional note: the bread was stale, and the benches for the table flip up if you sit on the edge. I would highly recommend drilling them in so this isn't an issue. Deena greeted us and sat us at a cozy corner table. The ambience was warm and inviting. Loved the wood on the walls, the bookcases and the patio. Deena had great recommendations for food, sides and wine. Our steaks ( ribeye and tenderloin) were done to perfection! My husband had the mushroom risotto - it was creamy and flavorful with a perfectly smooth texture. The creamy mash potatoes had a hint of onion that popped. Deena suggested a local cabernet ​that paired perfectly with our meals. My only regrets are 1. I was too full from dinner to try a dessert and 2. I called ahead (around 4 p.m.) and made a reservation for 8 p.m. The hostess was super friendly and accommodating, especially since we needed a booth on short notice. Although it was a Wednesday night, I was a little surprised that there was only one table occupied when we arrived, but it made for a nice, intimate atmosphere. We ordered the porterhouse steak, the ribeye steak, mushroom risotto, shrimp scampi with pasta, wedge salad, steak bites, coconut shrimp, and a couple of cocktails. My husband really enjoyed the smoked whiskey cocktail he ordered, and we all appreciated the presentation at our table. The food was delicious, very flavorful, and the steaks were cooked perfectly (we like ours medium rare). They did it just right. Our hostess and server, Grace, was exceptional--attentive, kind, and graceful, which is exactly what you want when dining out. At the end of our evening, my husband overheard her taking a call for a takeout order. The customer couldn't pick it up because they had a flat tire, and Grace offered to deliver it to them, which made us appreciate her and the restaurant even more. Grace also took the time to chat with our 20-month-old toddler, who was happily babbling away, showing genuine compassion and kindness. While the lamb was really good, it was a very small portion, unlike the other plates. The star, for me, was the flat iron steak. Perfectly cooked with zero excess fat and a grill flavor that was next level. My husband and I came in for Valentine's Day dinner. Taking into consideration it was Valentine's Day, I expected there to be a bit of a delay in service as the restaurant was busy and there looked to only be 2 servers. However, the other server seemed to be handing the dinner rush just fine. For starters It took almost an hour for our appetizers to come out. I ordered the French onion soup which came out cold, the cheese was not even melted. For entrees we both ordered the surf and turf. For 64$ to only get 3 small pieces of shrimp was a little crazy but fine. My husband ordered his steak well done and it came out rare. The service was so unbelievably slow and we saw our server a max of 3 times through out our meal that I could not bring up the mistake with the steak until she finally came around for the bill. By that time I was just annoyed and wanted to just go home and finish cooking it at home. We also did not get a single drink/water refill the entire time we were there. To make matters worse I ended up getting pretty severe food poisoning. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt being it was a busy holiday, but overall we had a terrible experience. read more

We really wanted to love this place. There are some pros for sure, but they're unrelated to the food. To start, the food is fine. But, not more than that. In fact, we were surprised that the taste was ok because the plates just looked so unappealing and/or boring. If the price of the dishes was halved, then I'd maybe give this another star just based on what you'd expect for the price (like a TGI Fridays meal for TGIF price). However, these dishes are pricey enough that I'd expect a lot more. We had a salad that was 5/10, coconut shrimp which was 5/10, and the pork chop which was 2/10 (the flavor was pretty good which was surprising, but the chop was 1/2" thick (at best), pale white, and had a sauce around it that looked like melted chocolate ice cream. For the money we spent, I'd much rather go to some of our better local restaurants or pay for an uber to the city for dinner. The pros: staff were great and so friendly! Not a huge wine list, but some decent selections and affordable bottles. We weren't rushed and the courses weren't rushed. We wanted to love the re-opening of this place and are so excited for great restaurants to come to our neck of the woods. Unfortunately, for us, this isn't a place we'll go back to. read more

The staff is amazing. We really put them to the test with a big group for a Birthday party. The place is nice, cozy and comfortable with dim but not dark lighting. This is an upscale style service so you are charged for each part of your meal. The steaks were really cooked quite well but the plating is kind of odd. A 6oz medallion on a huge wooden board all by itself. Guess I'm not fancy enough. We did appreciate the chef that was there that evening who was covering for the other that was out sick I guess. Went here for dinner with a party of 7. Everything from drinks to dessert was amazing and Dena was one of the best servers I've had in a long time. All of the ribeyes were cooked as ordered and the mushroom risotto was delicious. One member of our group ordered the salmon and it came out a little undercooked but he finished it anyway. My friend turned 50sum this weekend, he had mentioned that he wanted to try grill68 at some point. My other buddy and I decided to take him their for dinner. The restaurant is in a very unassuming plaza, they have an ample outdoor seating area. The dining area is nice, with a lot of dark features and lots space for various size parties, overall It's a nice setting. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. We were very happy with the timing of the wait staff, they were very helpful in selecting wine and various other drinks. We also shared a flight of bourbon, that was a special treat. I would recommend it. The food, if you enjoy a nice cut of meat this is a great place to experience. Each of us had our meat prepared exactly as ordered. The seasoning and taste were on point. The sides are amazing, I cannot say enough about the Cajun potatoes, it's a must try. They also have a great dipping sauce for the steak, not A1. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend this place to anyone. Be prepared to spend a little bit of money but well worth the cost. We will be coming back soon. read more

Another great bites the dust. We made the drive on a Friday evening from Vancouver to re-live the experience we had last year on my BF's birthday. Their site lists their opening time as 4 PM but they actually open at 5 so we sat outside in the parking lot for just over 30 minutes. It was empty when we walked in and the sweet hostess gave us our choice of seats so we took a secluded booth near the front. We knew something was different when we looked at the menu. They now offer different sized portions of items like clam chowder (was $18 for a bowl take it or leave it last year) and removed the 10 oz portion of filet mignon. Sadly, that was exactly what my BF wanted so he took a chance on the ribeye cooked medium rare and a side of mashed potatoes. I ordered the NY Strip medium rare with a small side of risotto. When they brought the steaks out on these cool hardwood cutting boards, the hostess explained that they'd been closed for about a year. All the staff we knew from last year was gone. They'd renovated the interior (though I couldn't really name what changed - it's dark and intimate in there with some cool aesthetic touches like the varnished recycled wood wall art just like last year). That change was clear when we sampled the food. Our steaks were definitely a good medium rare, but my entire mouth feel was charcoal with steak texture. I tried the ribeye and same thing. My BF raved about the mashed potatoes which were indeed creamy and delicious but my $8 risotto was just a dish of seasoned rice with mushrooms in it. I've both made and had risotto before and expected something creamier and with far less salt. We ate everything anyway in the interest of not wasting, but overall, the experience was a $100 letdown (the star is for the service and ambiance), and this will sadly be our last visit. :'( read more

We are new to Beaverton and are celebrating our one year anniversary so we wanted something a little special but close to home. Close to home was the one thing that worked. Service was good but what was delivered? Not so much. Small loaf of warm white bread cut in four served with melted garlic butter in a small cast iron pan that congealed after 10 minutes and the bread tasted day old. We ordered a Ceasar Salad to split and the Romain was spoted with rust spots with no attempt to hide it. I ordered the vegies as a side and I must say they were VERY good - hubby had marble potatoes - they came in abundance but were mushy soft/ We both ordered a 6oz filet... his medium rare - mine medium. His came out ok... flavor for him was good but we both had tired jaws from chewing tough steak and mine was VERY red and bleeding. I have rule about sending food back - just never a good idea - but I wanted to eat the steak, not walk it out the door. BAD idea - it came back well done, and while I thought the steak was tough before sending it back, it was inedible when it came back. Left our "romantic dinner" 45 minutes later with a container of the vegies and over done potatoes with hopes that one of the staff had a dog at home to give the filet I left behind. In a nut shell... won't be going back to Grill68 anytime soon. read more

The steaks on the other hand, were quite disappointing. Weak, thin cuts of modest quality, too thin to sear and melt fats while maintaining medium rare doneness. Worst experience!!! The same person was seating guests, taking orders, and bartending. And at one point she even said she was in the back doing dishes. Despite the fact that the restaurant was very empty, it took FOREVER to get a single glass of wine, amongst other things. We constantly had to remind her of things we were waiting on. Had to send our wedge salads back twice because the lettuce was rotten, and the Bleu cheese dressing was warm and had a foul odor. We finally said "forget the salads". Moved on to ordering our mains... After placing our main dish orders, the server returned about 10 minutes later to let us know they did not have mashed potatoes or the risotto in the shareable sizes, and returned with a tiny bowl of what was left of the risotto (the 4 of us in our party each got about a tablespoon). I order the filet medium rare, and it came well done and was awful. Our kids and I were hoping to have a very nice dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday, and got the complete opposite . We spent close to $400!!! If we paid $4, it would have been $4 too much!!! If giving zero stars is an option, that's what I would give. Beyond disappointed!! read more
